About the role
The aim of this newly created role is to lead organisational change on safeguarding and protection across Care4Calais.
The Head of Safeguarding and Protection will provide strategic and operational leadership across all protection and safeguarding prevention, reporting and response initiatives to facilitate a values-led organisational culture of safety, non-discrimination, dignity and respect for all.
Responsibilities

Develop, lead and implement safeguarding and protection strategy across the whole organisation.

Person Specification
Essential Criteria:

Significant experience of leading organisational change on safeguarding and protection initiatives in an international humanitarian context.

Experience and knowledge of international safeguarding and protection standards and good practices, as well as legal and regulatory obligations applicable to charities registered in the UK and (desirable) France.

StandOut Coach (based in prison)
As a StandOut Coach, you will be attached to one of the three London male prisons we partner with but can expect to work in all of them. You will work alongside a Lead Coach to deliver the StandOut Programme. More about the role
We are looking for a talented behaviour advisor who has a thorough understanding of reward-based training techniques, who will be working with pets in our care (be it on site, in foster, or post adoption). Working under the guidance of an Animal Behaviourist, you will be implementing and facilitating rehabilitation programmes practically, as well as advising and coaching centre teams who work with the pets in our care.
No two days will be the same – from working with an owner with a problem they are having with their pet to team training, to supporting a pet on site, to collaborating with your peers across Blue Cross – if you are looking for a dynamic role which helps people and pets and is at the forefront of animal welfare, then this might be the role for you.
This role is on a six-month fixed term contract working two days per week (12.5 hours) on Thursdays and Fridays, 9am till 4.15pm. There will be occasions to meet the needs of the pets and people to sometimes travel to other sites, and to undertake duties outside of these hours.
About you
You will be a confident, adaptable and compassionate animal handler and trainer who enjoys working with a diverse range of people and pets. With excellent communication skills and an understanding of animal behaviour, you will be skilled at teaching and demonstrating training techniques and advising our teams and pet owners on some behaviour issues. In addition, you will thrive working collaboratively with others and have a desire to improve the experience of the pets in our care.

About the role
We are seeking a Partnership Manager experienced in winning, developing and managing funding relationships (trust and foundations, corporate and paid delivery partnerships).

About the Role

Community Coach
As a member of the Community Team, you will provide vital support to people who have completed our course in prison and are now in the community working to find the stability they need to realise their potential, achieve their goals and rebuild their lives after prison.
This is an exciting time to join our Community Team as we look to broaden and deepen the support we offer participants as they leave prison. You will help shape our offer to participants; drawing on your experiences and creativity and working with our other Community Coaches to trial new approaches.
Partnership working plays an important part of the role, and you’ll get to connect with employers, partners and statutory organisations to support participants as they build a life after prison.
This role would be ideal for someone with a good understanding of the challenges faced by those caught up in the criminal justice system, gained through personal experience, paid work or volunteering. This role does not require the successful candidate to work in prison or clear prison security to hold keys. The Public Affairs and Policy Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping their policy goals and strategies. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation and engage with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement impactful policy, research, and campaigning projects. Your expertise in understanding complex policy issues, data analysis, and effective communication will be essential in bringing issues to life and advocating for meaningful change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and update an annual work programme aligned with our strategic plan, prioritising policy, research, and campaigning goals
- Lead and manage targeted policy research projects, providing a robust evidence base for policy recommendations
- Produce clear, evidence-based policy materials, including reports, briefings, and government consultation responses
- Promote an inclusive community model of social change through co-production and peer research

As a HR and Business Support Officer, you will provide support to the Interim Head of People & Culture to ensure the smooth delivery of an effective HR function, as well as facilities induction for their London-based staff. You will contribute to the employee life cycle by providing administrative support to the HR team, including supporting with onboarding and offboarding of employees and will also deliver effective day to day facilities' support in respect of the London office. This will include, setting up of meetings, rooms and refreshments, being the point of contact for deliveries and outbound post and parcels, checking and maintaining office supplies/ equipment and general ad hoc duties as may reasonably be requested.
To be considered for this role, you will have previous HR and facilities experience, ideally with a within a charity or similar setting. This is a hands-on role, and they are looking for candidates who are able to work independently on your own initiative, demonstrate effective organisational skills and are flexible, responsive and responsible. Candidates that have experience updating HR toolkit are encouraged to apply, however this is not essential.
