Job Purpose - Facilities Manager - Projects
The role holder will report directly to the Head of Estates whilst working closely with the Facilities Manager and the wider team, as well as operational colleagues.
The role holder will be responsible for the delivery of specific ad hoc estates projects, whilst also providing support to the wider Estates team in the delivery of business-as-usual activity to ensure the development of an estate that delivers outstanding outcomes for the people we support, ensuring the portfolio is managed safely, cost effectively and in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
This role requires an individual with strong project management capability within an estate’s environment, with a demonstrable track record of delivery of projects on time, to Budget and to the requisite level of quality.
Reporting directly to the Head of Estates, the role holder will:
- Lead the estates input in the expansion of the existing property footprint.
- Onboard new additions to the estate’s property portfolio efficiently and effectively.
- Work collaboratively with operational colleagues ensuring “best outcomes” are delivered for the people we support in the development and maintenance of the estate.
- Support the wider estates team in the delivery of business-as-usual activities.
- Be visible and on site to ensure the smooth running of projects and the timely resolution of issues.
Dimensions
Whilst the role currently has no direct reports assigned, the level of project activity and the consequential resource requirements will determine any additional staffing needs. The nature of individual projects will determine this although it is anticipated that project spend will be circa £0.5m+ per annum.
Principal Accountabilities
Estates and Facilities Management
- Responsibility: Act as the senior estates and facilities professional on project work assigned.
- Project Plans: Ensure there is a clear and documented estates plan for each project assigned and lead the implementation of these plans to ensure best possible outcomes for the people we support. In the planning and delivery of projects, the role holder must ensure that due consideration is given to operational requirements.
- Project Performance: Ensure a robust contract performance management framework is in place for each project.
- Regulatory: Ensure all project work is undertaken in accordance with applicable regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Resource Management: Manage and co-ordinate both AFG staff and external contractors in the delivery of projects. Where required mitigating actions/plans may need to be taken to ensure that projects are delivered to requirements.
- Onboarding: With support from the Head of Estates, lead the estates input re. property acquisition (both support with the identification of appropriate property and subsequent due diligence).
- Expansion: With support from the Head of Estates, lead the estates input re. the expansion of existing estates footprint.
- Business Cases: Prepare business cases, feasibility studies for consideration by the Head of Estates and onwards by the Executive/Director team.
- Business as Usual Estates Activity: The role holder will be required to work alongside the Estates Manager and the wider estates team in the delivery of business-as-usual estates activity (including site visits, contract monitoring meetings, supervision of reactive repairs etc.), where project requirements mean the role holder has capacity to undertake this work.
Financial Management
- Financial Performance: Manage project related budgets, ensuring projects are delivered to Budget, to the requisite quality and to time.
- Procurement: Work closely with the Procurement team to source potential suppliers for services and ensure those services are sourced on a “Value for money” (VFM) basis, and in accordance with the terms of the Scheme of Reservation and Delegation.
- Tenders: Working closely with the Procurement function of the Charity, take the estates lead in tender activity where assigned, ensuring that activity is undertaken in accordance with the Scheme of Reservation and Delegation.
- Cost Reduction/Service Improvement: Lead in ensuring we are continually striving to reduce cost/improve service provision.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The role leads on the delivery of Bond’s corporate and CEO level events. This role is managed by the Head of Communications but also works with the corporate and marketing team, the Director of Membership and Communications and CEO.
The primary focus of this role is to manage and deliver high-quality events for Bond’s corporate partners to help them reach their target audiences, and to deliver high level events for CEOs and senior leaders across our network to help provide senior leaders with the support and skills needed to provide effective and supportive leadership.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Corporate events:
• Manage and deliver a range of events to fulfil contractual commitments with corporate partners.
• Ensure the successful execution of events, including hybrid and face-to-face components, across various locations including potential European venues.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-quality events that meet partner expectations and contribute to revenue generation.
2) CEO engagement events:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive program of events targeting CEOs and senior leaders within our network.
• Coordinate logistics, including speaker liaison, venue sourcing, and event planning for CEO events throughout the year.
• Work closely with senior management to align events with organisational goals and strategies outlined in Bond’s membership strategy.
3) Special projects:

Job Description
This is a great time to join PCR’s Events & Community team as we expand the team off the back of raising over £1.3m (against a target of £800k) in 2023-24. We’ve had a really successful year with good results across our portfolio, so we’re excited to be recruiting a brand-new role to focus on PCR’s bespoke events and finding the successful events of the future!
We are therefore looking for a proactive team player to join us and lead the innovation and delivery of our programme of PCR-owned fundraising events. This will include our flagship challenge Snowdonia for Science, as well as leading product development of new challenge, community fundraising and special event propositions. The Bespoke Events Manager will also work with colleagues across the organisation to support other strategic and stewardship events.
The position reports to the Head of Events & Community, and will line manage one Events & Community Officer. Collaboration will be a big part of the role, especially with the Virtual & Challenge Events Manager (VCM) who leads our virtual fundraising and third-party challenge events.
Key Responsibilities
As Bespoke Events Manager, we would be very keen to work with you to develop and shape this into an exciting and meaningful role for you. We prioritise our team member's development, and there will be a percentage of time available to work on other areas of the portfolio for development and interest. However, your main focus would be;
Project Management
- Project manage PCR's flagship challenge, Snowdonia For Science. An amazing community event now enering its 16th year and forcast to raise £100k in 2024. This event is well-established but with plenty of room for you to make your mark, grow and improve the event.
- Project manage new events and community products as they are developed and tested, including end-to-end planning and delivery
- Design and deliver ambitious fundraising budgets for your projects which contribute net income towards PCR's lifesaving mission.
- Create good relationships with suppliers, venues, agencies and consultants to ensure great value.
- Lead the stewardship of fundraisers taking part in your events, boosting income and using feedback to continually develop positive journeys, experiences and opportunities for supporters
- Alongside the Head of Events & Community and others, support the development and delivery of other events, including high value fundraising and stewardship events, and plans for a conference style event in collaboration with PCR's Research & Comms and Patient Projects teams.
Product development and innovation
- As a key part of the role, you’ll spend a good proportion of your time developing and testing new fundraising propositions, taking a test & learn approach. For this, there are realistic budgets and an understanding of the investment needed to try new ideas.
- Product development will include special event product testing and at least one new community fundraising product in 2024-25.
- Maintain a good level of understanding of PCR’s existing (and target) supporters in order to create and implement products and stewardship that motivate and inspire them.
- Alongside the Head of E&C and the VCM, embed a culture of innovation and supporter insight in the team.
- Proactively collaborate internally, working with other teams to identify opportunities for new events, activities and stewardship journeys that meet Prostate Cancer Research’s objectives.
Team leadership
- Line manage one Events & Community Officer, overseeing their work, guiding them to improve & innovate in their role, and supporting their professional development.
- Work closely with the Head of E&C and the VCM on team strategy, capacity planning and ways of working.
- Alongside the VCM, take a lead role on developing processes and infrastructure across the team including for stewardship, content, data and compliance.
- Attend and contribute to meetings, sharing new ideas and learnings that might be useful for the wider team.
- Work with the Head of E&C and the VCM to embed and model PCR’s organisational values in the Events. Our values include: innovation, collaboration, accountability and championing the patient voice.
As with everyone in the Public Fundraising team, the Bespoke Events Manager may also get in involved with other projects and tasks as appropriate to support all our activities.

About the role
The Inclusive Climate Researcher is being recruited to support delivery on this growing portfolio of research and consultancy focussing on inclusive approaches to climate action, adaptation, mitigation and resilience. This work is closely aligned with GDI Hub’s work on inclusive cities and infrastructure, so an understanding of the intersection of climate, disability inclusion and accessibility in cities is important, and the post holder will likely work closely with inclusive design colleagues.

The role will require knowledge of disability innovation and inclusive design in the context of climate change, including an appreciation of disability in the context of wider social inclusion and climate adaptation/mitigation. The researcher will undertake research under the supervision and guidance of the project lead (GDI Hub’s Head of Research and Delivery). They will be responsible for research and analysis drawing on diverse research skills including policy review and strategy, desk reviews, qualitative, co-design and participatory methods, with the ability to extract key themes and provide actional insights.
Experience in and a passion for inclusive approaches to research with diverse user groups is key to this role. The researcher will be expected to be able to develop research protocols, instruments and methodologies to suit project needs, ranging from academic to consultancy-based research. Experience in academic research, including acquiring ethical approval, managing data and analysis and drafting quality academic papers would be an advantage. Communicating with diverse audiences through the preparation of presentations for clients and events, report and paper writing will be a large part of this role.
Translating knowledge into practice, technical assistance to climate projects, developing and supporting delivery of training on inclusive climate innovation, managing clients and networks of innovators and experts will form part of the role.
The researcher will support advocacy, communications and external engagement, promoting the work under their remit, including at key conferences and events, including UN climate events. They will also support the publication of papers aligned to the research and delivery to further increase the reach and impact of the work and seek to instil academic rigour as appropriate.

In the UK, nearly a third of children aged 2-15 face a higher risk of food-related ill health in their futures. The good news is, it's preventable. And we're biting back.
Bite Back is a youth activist movement challenging a food system that's been set up to fool us all by:

2) Demanding higher standards from food marketing and from everyday food itself.
3) Mobilising and equipping young people in the fight for better food.

About Bite Back in Schools
Bite Back has delivered our youth social action programme — Bite Back in Schools— to over 120 schools over the last two years. Working with secondary schools, we have supported over 2,000 11-14 year olds to plan and deliver social action projects to prioritise child health by improving their school food. This could be by making nutritious and sustainable food the norm by increasing the flow of healthy options in their canteens, or by redesigning the school food experience to put healthy options in the spotlight.
With funding awarded from the #iWill Fund, we are recruiting a brilliant cohort of schools who will join the programme in September 2024. Our programme model combines an assembly delivered by a Bite Back young ambassador, five hours of curriculum time sessions for a whole year group, and our ever-popular and impactful School Food Champions (SFC) extra-curricular club. Role Description
The Programmes Manager plays a key role supporting our community of schools during their time on the programme. They will support the design and lead on the delivery of Bite Back in Schools to ensure the best possible user experience for young people, their teachers and their schools, and to ensure the programme makes the greatest possible impact.
The Programmes Manager will report to the Head of Programmes, and will work closely with colleagues across Bite Back, in particular with our comms, digital, youth and policy teams, working within our Strategy and Delivery Function.
Key responsibilities include:
Relationship management

Provide ongoing support to schools throughout their time on the programme, building strong working relationships with participating schools.

Purpose of role
Reporting to the Head of Global Public Affairs, the Grants Officer will support C/Can´s dynamic global team in mapping, prospecting, stewarding, and creating relationships with trusts, foundations, and institutions to increase and diversify their funding as they grow their impact globally.
This is a new role for an experienced hands-on prospect donor researcher and Grant Officer with a background working with health-related funders. The main aspect of the role will be to map grant opportunities, identify the most relevant ones for C/Can and coordinate the development of winning proposals. Who are Women’s Aid?
Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. For almost 50 years we have campaigned on behalf of our members and survivors to shape policy and practice, and to raise awareness of domestic abuse.
Purpose of the Project Manager role:
As Project Manager, the successful candidate will play an integral role in working across the organisation to ensure that sound project management principles are being used in all aspects of our work. You will be responsible for delivering cross-cutting, significant and complex programmes and projects that underpin Women’s Aid’s strategy.
You will support the Head of Strategic Programmes to effectively schedule and monitor the projects, programmes and core business activity across the organisation, in line with our key strategic goals.
Key duties and responsibilities of the Project Manager:

Full scale project management of key strategic projects across a project’s full life cycle, to deliver within scope, on time, on budget, and within quality commitments. This includes designing project models, allocating resources, scheduling, monitoring, stakeholder communications, reporting and budget management.

Assessing and recommending to the senior leadership team the viability and suitability of new proposed projects.

Continually ensuring project specific risks are identified, assessed and mitigated, and escalating to senior managers as appropriate.

Supporting the creation, embedding and monitoring of performance and outcome measures relating to project deliverables.

Monitoring and managing interdependencies between projects across the organisation, and ensuring that projects are delivered in line with Women’s Aid’s strategic objectives.

Building professional and functional working relationships with key stakeholders, across all levels, to ensure optimum information flow and understanding of key business areas.
What we are looking for in our Project Manager:
Essential:
-
Substantial (5+ years) proven experience in project planning and execution, monitoring and reporting, and achievement of objectives.

Experience managing large (£50k+) and complex (e.g. cross-cutting multiple teams/functions) budgets.

Ability to work at pace and deliver to deadlines, prioritising work depending on organisational need.

Ability to interpret top-line briefs and turn these into practical action.

Ability to identify and manage project-based risks and issues, identify key decision points and define options for decision-makers.

Ability to work on own initiative to meet objectives in a complex, changing environment
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation and presenting to a wide range of audiences

Knowledge of a variety of project management principles and frameworks.

Willingness to travel across the UK on occasion, as required by the job role

A basic understanding of the experiences and needs of women and children affected by gender-based violence.

An understanding of the role and work of Women’s Aid, and commitment to its values.

Project management work in a similar not for profit setting.
