As our trading operations expand, so does our marketplace and eCommerce presence. Sustainable and preloved fashion is on the rise, with the online resale market due to be worth $36bn by 2024 and bigger than fast fashion by 2029, at $64bn. Therefore this is a key area for us and a real opportunity to bring in more money for our life saving research.

Across our Marketplace hubs, our Marketplace teams sort, identify, value, photograph, and list items onto online marketplace platforms such as eBay, Depop and ASOS marketplace. We are looking for a commercially minded, experienced Operations Manager who will be based out of our Romford Ebay Hub. In this role you will be accountable for the operations of our Hubs in Romford and Grantham. You will use your leadership and people management skills to ensure outstanding customer experience through your teams. This role would suit someone from a retail background who has knowledge of online marketplaces and knows how to motivate and get the best out of a diverse team.

In developing and maintaining engaging, innovative online courses and resources, you’ll work closely with colleagues in the Education team and subject matter experts. You’ll use your specialist learning or instructional design experience to ensure our online education offer is based on sound pedagogical practice and focuses directly on meeting learner need.

• Apply the tools, principles and practice of learning design to plan, develop and maintain engaging online courses and resources about Parkinson’s and Parkinsonism for professional audiences
• Work closely with the Education Lead to ensure our education offer is sector-leading, sustainable and aligned to the Charity’s strategic priorities
• Plan, manage and deliver to schedule high-quality online courses and resources, from agreeing learning outcomes to go-live
• In production and maintenance work, collaborate with colleagues including subject matter experts (such as clinicians in the Parkinson’s Excellence Network), technical specialists and other internal colleagues
• Support the development of an effective marketing strategy for the Learning Hub, working closely with Professional Engagement, Marketing and Media team colleagues

About us

Crisis is the national charity for homeless people. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it.

Our Finance Team is expanding and we have an exciting opportunity available for a Management Accountant! You will be part of our finance team and will be responsible for producing monthly management accounts, assisting annual budgeting and restricted funding income. This is to provide support in decision making across relevant areas of the organisation and to continuously improve the efficiency and quality of what we do to support other functions in driving efficiencies and reducing costs.

Responsibilities of our Area Branch Development Manager:

As an Area Branch Development Manager you will be accountable for the development, growth and local governance of branches within a designated area. Providing a solution-driven approach with the aim of helping more cats through the effective engagement of local volunteers. The Operations and Marketing Manager plays a crucial role in the ISG, overseeing both organisational operations and marketing efforts. This position ensures the maintenance of high standards, adherence to regulations, best practices, and organisational efficiency. The role requires maintaining close relationships with the ISG Board, management team, staff and volunteers, ensuring a cohesive and integrated approach to achieving the ISG's mission.

Key Responsibilities: 

Administration and Operations Management

• Develop, maintain, and enhance operating policies, procedures, and principles.
• Enhance governance frameworks and operational strategies.
• Forge and maintain external partnerships to bolster the organization's objectives.
• Oversee office management and serve as the minute taker at key meetings.

Marketing

• ​Lead branding and marketing initiatives to promote ISG and ichthyosis effectively.
• Lead the creation, distribution, and management of ISG literature and digital content.
• Support educational events, activities, and social media engagement.
• Manage the ISG newsletter and email communications.

Finance and Accountancy Support

• Enhance financial systems, procedures, and record-keeping.
• Provide support for annual accounts, bookkeeping, and financial documentation.

Administrative Systems

• Oversee the ISG database, CRM systems, and operational platforms.
• Ensure secure and efficient information sharing and storage and maintain external communication channels.

General Enquiries

• Act as the primary point of contact for all incoming communication and external entities.

Grant Applications

• Lead the identification, application, and management of grants and funding opportunities.

Fundraising

• Develop and manage national, regional, and online fundraising strategies and activities.
• Support and enhance member and external fundraising initiatives.

Event Management

• Coordinate and manage ISG events, liaising with third parties, participants, and volunteers.

Volunteer Coordination

• Develop volunteer recruitment and management strategies, supporting national, regional, and online volunteer activities.

Reporting

• Responsible for the preparation and management of various organizational reports.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience in operations and/or marketing management, preferably in a nonprofit or similar setting.
• Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in financial management, event planning, and volunteer coordination.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work occasional weekend hours as required.

Country Trust Head of Programmes

Employed contract   

• Hours: 21 per week  
• Salary/contract rate : £43-45,000 FTE depending on experience

About the Role 

As the Head of Programmes, you will take on a strategic leadership role, managing the team of Programme Managers and deputising for the CEO when required. You will ensure each programme flourishes while encouraging collaboration across teams and with external partners to meet our ambitious objectives. This is a hybrid role, allowing you to work from home and travel to see our programmes in action nationwide. 

Key responsibilities include: 

• Line managing senior programme staff, including a dispersed workforce 
• Overseeing operational demands and change management 
• Financial management - budgeting, forecasting, invoices, embracing fundraising 
• Actively promoting equality of opportunity and being a powerful advocate for our cause 
• Confident communication and stakeholder engagement across sectors 
• Supporting strategic direction and deputising for the CEO when required 

You will work closely with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team of 10, and a delivery team of around 40 colleagues. 

About You 

We are seeking an exceptional communicator and versatile senior leader committed to providing quality opportunities for disadvantaged children. You must have: 

• Proven success line managing senior programme staff and a dispersed workforce 
• Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and forecasting 
• Working with the Impact and Learning Lead to ensure broad and deep understanding and implementation of our Theory of Change and our values, that evaluation and learning are embedded throughout the organisation and that we are known for the quality of our reporting, with all our activities and reporting informed by meaningful data. 
• To identify and develop key partnerships to enable us to extend our reach and our impact. 
• Excellent written and oral communication skills 
• Confidence and competence to act at Board level and deputise for CEO

• Strategic thinking abilities to balance priorities and find solutions 
• A collaborative approach suited to a dynamic team environment 
• A desire to support colleagues' growth and development 
• The ability to build successful, effective partnerships – our 5 Year Plan goals are dependent on working with and through others 
• An understanding of the reality of the lives of disadvantaged children and the barriers they face in developing a first-hand connection with the land. 
• Passion for food, farming, and the countryside
