About the opportunity

The role
This is a busy and varied coordination position supporting the delivery of large-scale education and employability programmes.
You will be responsible for ensuring all administrative and logistical arrangements are in place, working closely with Programme Managers and a range of external stakeholders to provide an excellent experience for everyone involved.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating multiple projects and programmes simultaneously
• Managing programme bookings, schedules and logistics
• Liaising with schools, volunteers, facilitators and external partners
• Maintaining accurate records using databases, CRM systems and spreadsheets
• Organising travel, accommodation and other programme requirements where needed
• Responding to enquiries and providing a high standard of customer service
• Supporting Programme Managers to ensure programme objectives and deadlines are met
• Monitoring progress and identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to support a one-team approach across the organisation

About you

Additional information

This is a hybrid role, primarily working from home with occasional travel. The successful candidate will be expected to attend team collaboration days in London approximately nine times per year. There will also be opportunities to attend programme workshops and school visits across the UK, typically around twice per month, with additional opportunities available for those who wish to be more involved in programme delivery and impact. All approved business travel expenses are reimbursed.

About the role

• The Head of Funding and Programme Development will shape Saferworld’s income profile in alignment with our organisational strategy and change process. The post-holder will lead the development and implementation of Saferworld’s funding strategy, ensuring it supports our strategic, programmatic and operational priorities.
• The role will focus on strengthening the quality, flexibility and diversity of Saferworld’s funding base, nurturing relationships with strategic institutional donors, growing philanthropic funding, and identifying new income opportunities.
• This is an exciting opportunity to influence Saferworld’s fundraising and programme development approach during a pivotal period for the organisation. The role will line-manage a small team across programme development, philanthropy and funding.

Key responsibilities

• As part of Saferworld’s senior leadership, you will support organisation-wide initiatives and contribute to strategic decision-making. You will monitor funding trends, identify emerging issues relevant to Saferworld’s work and partnership approaches, and develop appropriate strategies to respond.
• Working closely with the Senior Operations Team, you will ensure funding plans are developed across business units and thematic/regional areas, and that income pipelines are maintained while quality assurance and active cost recovery are proactively pursued. You will oversee the funding and prospects pipeline, produce data and analysis to support decision-making, and provide regular reporting to senior leaders and the Board.
• Externally, you will represent Saferworld with key donors, partners and networks, building strategic relationships and identifying funding opportunities.
• You will lead the development, implementation and monitoring of Saferworld’s funding strategy, ensuring a balanced, ethical and diverse portfolio of restricted and unrestricted income streams. This will include securing quality funding against agreed targets and supporting income diversification through trusts and foundations, commercial funding, and other sources.

• You will lead the Funding Leadership Team to ensure cross-organisational ownership of fundraising efforts, and work closely with regional, thematic, policy and grant management colleagues throughout the funding cycle.

People and leadership

• You will line-manage the Funding and Programme Development Team and foster an environment where staff feel empowered, take responsibility and are accountable for achieving organisational objectives.
• You will ensure the team facilitates strong participatory programme design and proposal development with partners and staff, embedding Saferworld’s organisational values and principles. You will also support the team to work closely with colleagues across the organisation, grounding proposals in learning, evidence and evaluation findings.

About you

• You will bring proven senior leadership experience in funding, with a track record of developing and implementing funding strategies and raising income through a range of donors, including individuals, institutions, trusts and foundations. You will also have experience securing high-value contracts and grants of seven figures.
• You will have strong experience of leading complex participatory programme design, including developing budgets, monitoring frameworks and proposals. You will be confident coordinating programme development processes with multiple teams and partners to ensure a collaborative and inclusive approach.
• You will have a proven track record of motivating, mentoring and managing a team, and supporting that team to think creatively about fundraising. You will also be confident developing networks, building alliances, and nurturing relationships with individuals, collaborators and funders.
• You will bring a strong understanding of key political, development and humanitarian trends and debates, particularly linked to peacebuilding, development, human rights, governance, and security and justice. You will also have sound knowledge of UK civil society and charity regulatory requirements, and an understanding of the current international aid, peacebuilding and human rights funding environment.
• Experience of working and/or living in conflict-affected contexts, and understanding of peacebuilding and conflict prevention, are desirable.

Skills and qualities

• You will have excellent leadership and management skills, including strategic planning and business development. You will be able to provide sound financial and compliance advice, demonstrate good financial stewardship, and bring a creative, proactive approach to your work.
• You will be able to set priorities while working under pressure, adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities, and move between hands-on involvement in proposal writing and strategic oversight.
• You will bring strong communication skills, including experience of communicating across cultures and with diverse audiences. You will understand the power imbalances that may be reflected in programme design and budgeting, and bring a strong commitment to inclusive processes and to shifting power and resources to partners.

In Grimsby, this includes the Growing Together Fund, a new, independent community fund being developed. Their approach is rooted in local knowledge, relationships and trust.

As the programme moves into a critical delivery phase, Prospectus is delighted to be working them to recruit and experienced Fund Coordinator to help ensure its work runs smoothly and effectively. This role is offered on a 6 month contract, working remotely with regular travel to Grimsby and London.

The Role
As Fund Coordinator, you will play a central role in holding together the operational delivery of several grant programmes. You will coordinate day-to-day activity, making sure design sessions are progressed efficiently and key programme milestones are met. You will support the preparation of clear and accessible application materials, manage incoming queries from applicants and community decision-makers, and help coordinate assessment panels and forums.

Alongside delivery, you will take responsibility for events coordination, including liaising with fund decision makers and helping to prepare in advance for future rounds. You will also maintain oversight of the programme budgets, keeping track of expenditure, highlighting any variances and assisting with financial reporting where necessary.

The role also offers exposure to fundraising and communications. You will support the development of funding materials, help manage funder relationships and pipeline tracking, in addition to contributing to capturing programme learning and informing strategy documentation. Working closely with the Fund Lead, your work will enable senior colleagues to focus on strategic priorities by ensuring strong day to day coordination and reliable support across the programme.

The Person
You will be a highly organised and committed charity sector professional with exposure ideally to grant-making or fundraising, who is comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will have strong events and programme support experience and will be confident keeping complex, demanding workstreams on track and to tight deadlines. Your written communication will be clear and concise, allowing you to produce accurate and compelling summaries, guidance materials and correspondence.

You will be numerate and comfortable keeping budget trackers up to date. You will be proactive and solutions driven in your approach, able to identify what needs to be done and to take ownership of making it happen. You will also be confident in exercising sound judgement and diplomacy when escalating issues at appropriate times.

You will have experience of working collaboratively and remotely within a small, busy team and will be able to step up and represent the organisation when the Fund Lead is not available. Importantly, you will have a genuine interest in community-led change and civic collaborative approaches to community development.

The Visually Impaired Cricket Development Officer will give more young people with a visual impairment the chance to play cricket regularly by growing and delivering the Super 1s programme in targeted areas, attracting new participants, and supporting coaches to build their skills and confidence.

The Role

We are looking for a Class 2 HGV Driver to make daily collections from our food partners in the Midlands region and deliver to warehouses across the West and East Midlands. This role is most suited to individuals with an aptitude for driving, who have excellent customer service skills combined with a professional attitude, as you will be dealing directly with our customers as a representative of FareShare Midlands.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work with the Supply Chain Team to collect surplus food from partners and deliver to the right regional centre.

• Provide excellent customer service to food partners in person and by phone, offering a highly professional impression of the charity in a friendly manner.
• Adhere to all laws, Road Transport Regulations and HGV Working Time directives.
• Support the Supply Chain Team by collecting stock offered from the food industry and delivering it to Regional Centres in a timely fashion, communicating ETAs and delays.
• Maintain records of collections and allocations e.g. provide paperwork and temperature readings to the Regional Centres on delivery.
• Identify any barriers or opportunities and feedback any developments or challenges e.g. delays, maintenance concerns, instruction errors, etc.
• Ensure deliveries follow the assigned order, the routes are planned appropriately in the given timescale and all delivery windows are met safely.
• Highlight and respond quickly to any anticipated delays or difficulties, using problem solving skills to mitigate any unforeseen circumstances e.g. taking breaks while queueing or changing the order of collections subject to permission from the Supply Chain Team.
• Ensure the quality of the product delivered is accurate against notes, making detailed visual inspections and flagging any concerns or discrepancies before the vehicle is loaded.
• Strengthen existing relationships by providing a reliable and friendly service.
• Adhere to all health and safety and operational requirements at all times.
• Ensure the vehicle is properly maintained, serviced and cleaned to a high standard.
• 6 am to 3 pm shifts & occasionally 7am to 4pm shifts.

This position will involve handballing and lifting with the provision of lifting equipment. You may be required to complete other duties as requested to suit the needs of the charity. Some work on Saturdays with notice will be required.
