MOVEMENT BUILDING MANAGER
(FIXED-TERM MATERNITY COVER UP TO 12 MONTHS)
Background:
Kaleidoscope Trust (KT) is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to advancing the rights of LGBTI+ people internationally. Founded in 2011, we aim to create a world where all LGBTI+ individuals are free, safe and equal. To ensure LGBTI+ rights remain a priority on global agendas, we take a three-fold approach:
-
We strengthen capacities and build networks and movements, by supporting a diverse range of international LGBTI+ partners and networks to access the skills, training, and financial resources they need to be able to shift hearts and minds and create enabling environments for policy and legal change.
-
We advocate for inclusive policy change, by generating data-driven evidence that amplifies our partners’ lived experiences and priorities and by ensuring political leaders and government officials have access to the accurate, timely and relevant information needed to effectively challenge anti-LGBTI+ narratives and strategies and drive positive change.
-
We enhance collaboration and coordination among stakeholders, by building networks and connecting grassroots organisations with political actors in strategic spaces to drive meaningful and lasting change for LGBTI+ communities across the Commonwealth and around the world.
Kaleidoscope Trust is proud to be a founding member of The Commonwealth Equality Network and to host its Secretariat. Our partnerships with LGBTI+ communities across the Commonwealth have informed our approach to inclusion and equality, in the workplace and beyond.
We are an open organisation, committed to having great working practices that enable all team members to have ownership over their work. We are committed to employing and nurturing a diverse range of people, and especially encourage applications from women, the vast and varied members of the LGBTI+ community, the multiply-marginalised, and People of the Global Majority.

Job summary including context
Young Women’s Trust champions young women on low or no pay. We’re here to create a more equal world of work and raise young women’s incomes. We tackle sexism and misogyny, with and for anyone who has experienced this.
We offer young women free coaching, feedback on job applications and information to help them get where they want to be. We bring together a thousands-strong network to support each other, build their self-belief, and have their voices heard. We work with young women and anyone who experiences misogyny and sexism to campaign for equality in the workplace. And our research provides insight into what young women’s lives are really like, fuelling our campaigns for change.
These are not easy times to be a young woman. The rights and freedoms previous generations fought for can feel up for grabs – sexism is growing louder, online abuse is on the rise, and too many young women are still held back by low pay, insecure work and unequal caring responsibilities. Routes to Roots is looking for an inspiring, compassionate and proactive Centre Manager to lead the day-to-day operation and future development of the Genesis Centre in Poole.
This is not a role where you will spend every day behind a desk.
You will be at the centre of a busy, welcoming homelessness service: leading people, building partnerships, solving problems, developing opportunities and making sure that people experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity receive the very best possible support.
Some days will require strategic thinking. Others will require you to roll up your sleeves and help make things happen. We are looking for someone who can do both!
About the role
As Centre Manager, you will take the lead for the day-to-day running and continued development of the Genesis Centre, working closely with our Trustees, staff, volunteers and local partners. You will have real scope to shape how the service develops and to strengthen the Genesis Centre's role within Poole's response to homelessness.
You will be a visible and approachable presence within the Centre and the wider community, helping to raise the profile and reputation of Routes to Roots and strengthen our network of partners and supporters by:
- Leadership & strategy – working with the Trustees to deliver the charity’s strategic and operational plans, monitor outcomes and identify opportunities to improve and develop services.
- People & volunteers – leading and supporting employees and volunteers, including recruitment, induction, development, performance and wellbeing.
- Centre operations – overseeing the day-to-day running of the Centre, budgets, resources, premises, donations, food supplies, health and safety, safeguarding and compliance.
- Partnerships & community engagement – building strong relationships with BCP Council, homelessness services, health services, community organisations and other local partners, while representing Routes to Roots at networking events and community activities.
- Fundraising & sustainability – supporting the Trustees with fundraising, identifying grant opportunities and contributing to the financial sustainability and future development of the charity.
- Governance & reporting – providing Trustees with clear information on performance, finances, risks, incidents and strategic progress, and ensuring policies and procedures are effective and up to date.
About you
We are looking for someone with experience of managing people and/or volunteers and overseeing a service, programme or project, including budgets and resources.
You will ideally already have experience of working with people experiencing homelessness or vulnerability and be just as confident building effective relationships with someone walking through the doors of the Genesis Centre as with a volunteer, Trustee, commissioner or partner agency.
You will bring:
- Strong leadership, people-management and communication skills;
- Excellent organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities in a challenging environment;
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to turn strategy into practical action;
- New ideas, activities and partnerships that can improve outcomes for the people using the service;
- High standards around safeguarding, health and safety, incidents, complaints, records and the safe operation of the building;
- The ability to use data, feedback and what we learn from clients to understand what is working and where we can do better.
- An understanding of the importance of good governance, accurate records, performance information and safe working — but you will never lose sight of the people behind the processes;
- A compassionate, respectful and non-judgemental approach.
- Resilience, emotional maturity and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A proactive, flexible and solutions-focused approach.
Experience of grant applications, fundraising or working within the voluntary, housing, health or social care sectors would be advantageous.
Most importantly, you will share our belief that people experiencing homelessness deserve dignity, respect, opportunity and the right support to move forward.
Why join Routes to Roots?
Routes to Roots is a Poole-based homelessness charity with a Christian ethos and more than 20 years' experience of supporting people who are rough sleeping, vulnerably housed or rebuilding their lives following homelessness.
Our Genesis Centre is much more than a traditional day centre.
It is a place where people can eat, shower, wash clothes, receive practical help and simply feel welcome. It is also a place where people can connect with housing, health, substance use and other specialist services, take part in activities and begin to move towards something different.
At its best, Genesis is a place of opportunity, connection and change.
This is a unique opportunity to take a leading role in a charity that is committed to supporting people experiencing homelessness and vulnerability in Poole.
You will have the opportunity to shape the future development of the Genesis Centre, work alongside dedicated Trustees, staff and volunteers, develop meaningful partnerships across the community and see the direct impact of your work.
Interested?
If you are an experienced manager who is passionate about making a difference and would like to play a key role in the future of Routes to Roots and the Genesis Centre, we would love to hear from you.
Routes to Roots is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and welcomes applications from people from all backgrounds.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.

Senior Manager, Community Wellbeing Services, Catalyst Support
Location - Based at Nankeville & Hybrid - with regular presence across community sites, partner organisations and Catalyst locations
Salary - £41,000 - £45,000 p.a. FTE
We are so pleased to be partnering with Catalyst Support to help them find a Senior Manager, Community Wellbeing Service, this is a newly shaped senior leadership role with real opportunity to influence how community support is delivered across Surrey.
As one of Surrey's leading wellbeing charities, Catalyst works alongside individuals and communities to improve mental, physical and emotional health, creating accessible support that changes lives and strengthens local communities. Guided by kindness, integrity and collaboration, they are now looking for an ambitious and values-led Senior Manager to lead an important portfolio of community wellbeing services. At Catalyst Support, they believe that wellness is a right, not a privilege.
Leading a portfolio that includes Community Connections, Safe Haven and Counselling services, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple services, ensuring they are connected, high-quality and responsive to local need. More than service management, this role is about creating a genuinely joined-up approach to community wellbeing, shaping pathways, building partnerships and ensuring people can access the right support at the right time.
You'll work closely with the Director of Services and wider leadership team to embed a "One Catalyst" approach, bringing services together around a shared vision and operating model. You'll also play a pivotal role externally, developing relationships across the VCSE sector, statutory services and local communities, ensuring Catalyst remains a trusted and influential partner across Surrey.
They are looking for an experienced leader with a background in community services, mental health, social care, wellbeing or related fields. You'll bring experience of leading teams and services in complex environments, strong safeguarding expertise and a track record of building meaningful partnerships that improve outcomes for people and communities.
Equally important is your leadership style. You'll be someone who can hold strategic oversight whilst remaining visible and connected to frontline delivery. You'll enjoy working collaboratively, navigating complexity and supporting teams through change with clarity, empathy and purpose.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an established senior manager who is passionate about community wellbeing and wants to shape services that truly make a difference.
If you're a strategic and collaborative leader who believes in the power of community-based support, we'd love to hear from you. Whether you're currently leading wellbeing, mental health, social care or community services, this is an opportunity to shape a connected, innovative portfolio that improves lives across Surrey.

Interim Senior Management Accountant – Grants
Hertfordshire | £300–£400 per day | 6 months | 3 days onsite | ASAP
We are working with a well-established £50m+ charitable and grant-funded organisation to recruit an experienced Interim Senior Management Accountant – Grants for an initial six-month assignment.
Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a senior, hands-on role combining management accounting, complex grant and project finance, business partnering and financial analysis.
A key part of the brief is finding someone who is naturally curious and questioning. They want someone who will interrogate the numbers, investigate anomalies, understand what is driving performance and come forward with solutions rather than simply reporting what has happened.
Key responsibilities
- Take senior oversight of a portfolio of complex, high-value grants and funded projects, ensuring robust financial management throughout the funding lifecycle.
- Work closely with project leads and senior stakeholders, providing financial advice, challenge and insight.
- Lead on management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, variance and trend analysis.
- Ensure restricted and grant-funded income and expenditure is accurately accounted for, allocated and reported.
- Produce and review financial reports and returns for major institutional and public funding bodies, ensuring compliance with individual funding requirements.
- Monitor project cash flow, income recovery, billing schedules and financial risks.
- Investigate variances and anomalies, getting underneath the numbers to understand the underlying issues.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities and develop practical solutions with stakeholders.
- Support improvements to financial processes, controls, systems and management information.
- Provide guidance and support to other members of the finance team and help strengthen financial understanding across the organisation.
What we are looking for
- Qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
- Strong charity, research, education or similarly grant-funded/not-for-profit experience.
- Ideally experience within a £20m+ organisation with a reasonably complex funding structure.
- Significant experience managing restricted grants and project-based funding.
- Understanding of the requirements associated with major institutional, government or research funding streams, including cost allocation, compliance and funder reporting.
- Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting experience.
- Excellent Excel, analytical and financial modelling skills.
- Confident business partner who can work effectively with senior stakeholders and non-finance project leads.
- Curious, analytical and willing to challenge – someone who questions their findings rather than taking information at face value.
- Solutions-focused and proactive, with the confidence to identify an issue, investigate it and recommend a way forward.
- Able to operate autonomously and quickly get up to speed within a complex organisation.
Contract: 6 months
Rate: £300–£400 per day
Location: Hertfordshire – 3 days per week onsite
Start: ASAP
