The Job 

This key programme delivery and administrative role within the Global Mission Team of USPG will support the smooth and effective coordination of USPG activities, especially programmes across USPG partner churches in Africa. The role ensures information and data (financial, MOUs, stories and photographs) from partner churches in Africa is recorded correctly and disseminated effectively within USPG.Reporting to the Senior Regional Manager Africa, the post holder will work alongside fellow members of the Global mission Team, the Finance and Operations (F & O) Team (especially during the Annual audit) and with the Communications, Engagement and Fundraising (CEF). The post-holder will not have line management responsibility.

The Role

The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers across the stroke pathway, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes. A key part of the role will be to offer support to stroke survivors and their families; plan and deliver stroke support group sessions and ensure the smooth running of the service.

Reporting to the Service Delivery Coach, the Stroke Support Coordinator’s key responsibilities will include:

About You

The post holder will have experience/background in:

• Experience of providing person centred support.
• Experience of working with people with a disability or long-term health condition, and their carers.
• Experience of using technology and IT systems to support your work and keep timely, accurate records.
• Effective listening skills with the ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of people.
• Experience of working with health and social care professionals in a variety of settings.

This role requires extensive travel across a large geographical locality including the delivery of face-to-face support in the form of stroke awareness sessions, home and hospital visits. Student Basic Needs Coordinator

£25,809 gross per annum, 35.5 hours per week

The role

This role is part of the Community, Advice & Support department working collectively with colleagues delivering the Guild’s students advice, community engagement, and students wellbeing and lifestyle campaigns and activities. The Community, Advice & Support department is part of the Community & Representation Directorate.

The role is required:

• To deliver Cost-of-Living projects and initiatives, with a particular focus on basic needs, money/finance matters. This includes undertaking the duties required for the setup and takedown of events, activities, and provisions.
• To empower students to effectively manage their finances, studies, health and wellbeing.
• To work collaboratively with Guild and University colleagues, administrating Hardship funds and assisting students in understanding and accessing these.

Success in the role will require a highly student and customer focused approach together with an emphasis on teamwork. The role involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a positive ambassador for the Guild and facilitating under-represented groups to find a comfortable place here. Supporting a culture of ambitious targets and evaluation and promoting a positive team spirit are also key

Student Voice Coordinator (Student Leadership)

The Role

This role is part of the Student Voice & Representation department working collectively with colleagues delivering the Guild’s student advice, representation, democracy, policy and campaigns work. The Student Voice & Representation Team is part of the Community & Representation Directorate.

The Student Voice Coordinator (Student Leadership) role is to support delivery of the Student Voice & Representation departmental plan. We expect Coordinators to help to create an inclusive and engaging environment for all.

The role is required:

To support the Guild to become an expert in the student experience at Birmingham and to develop high impact campaigns that make changes for students on the issues that matter the most.

To support the development and training of student leaders, who are engaged with democracy, campaigns, and other change making activity, at Birmingham and equip them with skills, tools, and knowledge to deliver their change.

To provide elected Officers and student leaders with appropriate support in their roles to represent students at Birmingham.

About the role

This is a fixed term contract ending 31 March 2027.

The Southwark Street Population Outreach Team (SPOT) is looking for a committed individual to join our street outreach team tasked with reducing rough sleeping across Southwark.

This role is both challenging and rewarding. It would suit an experienced worker who wants the autonomy and flexibility to find creative solutions, or someone looking for a development opportunity who is keen to learn outreach skills and work with clients at a point where their need is acute.

You will be expected to work with clients in a variety of settings. As part of the Outreach Team, you will be required to work some shifts starting at 6am and others finishing at 2am plus occasional weekends depending on the needs of the service. 

In this role you will:

• Conduct outreach alongside a range of partners and proactively assess those found sleeping rough to rapidly access housing, health services and treatment.
• Manage a caseload of clients experiencing multiple disadvantages where there are significant barriers to accessing accommodation and services, requiring relationship building and a thoughtful approach to incremental change.
• Work with a truly diverse group of clients, supporting them to make meaningful and lasting changes to their lives.
• Work from a variety of settings with clients, from the street to local day centres and the weekly Pilgrim's Rest, run by SPOT, from partners offices such to courts, tribunals and job centres.

You will receive an additional 20% pay premium for hours worked between 8pm and 8am Monday to Friday and for all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday

About you

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator who can engage clients in a range of settings. You will be adaptable when facing communication challenges such as language barriers, cultural differences or working with people who are neuro-diverse. This includes the ability to explain complex concepts in a simple and accessible way.

You will have some experience of client case management, resilience to achieve agreed outcomes and the ability to work remotely and lone work with vulnerable people.

Holding a UK driving licence would be beneficial but is not essential.
