Job Description
-
Job title: Fundraising Partnerships Manager
-
Location: Hackney Bridge, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London (a canalside public destination less than five minutes from Hackney Wick station)
-
Salary: £40,000-£45,000 FTE depending on experience, pro rata to £24,000-£27,000
-
Hours: 0.6 FTE (3 days/21 hours per week) with a view to the role expanding to full-time in the future. Office hours are 10am - 6pm with occasional evenings and weekends. Flexible working opportunities are available.
Who are The Outrunners?
The Outrunners are a running and movement charity based in Hackney, on a mission to empower young people through movement. Backed by an incredible crew of volunteers and partner brands like Nike and Moju, we help young people in East London to build confidence, wellbeing, health and leadership skills.
We deliver free, fun, sociable, youth‑led running and movement sessions for 8–18 year olds every week - during term time and holidays. But we’re about more than just running. We also create space for young people to explore creativity and culture, go on exciting trips, access wraparound wellbeing support, and develop the skills and opportunities they need to shape the futures they want.
Over the past five years, we’ve supported thousands of young people and helped push greater diversity within the running world.
We like to do things differently - taking young people out of their everyday environments and into exciting new spaces, opening doors to opportunities they might not otherwise have access to. If that sounds like something you want to be part of…read on.
Our achievements
We’re a small charity but we pack a mighty punch. Our income has grown year-on-year since we became a charity 6 years ago - allowing us to expand our core team and move into office premises large enough to incorporate a Youth Hub. Last year we worked with over 1,150 young people through our school and communities programs, and this year we’re looking to expand our work even further!
To give you a sense of the kinds of work that we do, over the last year we have:
-
Hosted a free Girls’ Festival for 100+ ethnically diverse young girls, allowing them to try running sessions, creative classes and yoga experiences in a safe and empowering environment.
-
Hosted free training Academies for ethnically diverse women and young people aged 16-21 to train for their very first half or full marathons! We offered physical, emotional and logistical support throughout their training journey and cheered on every single one of them as they ran either the Hackney Half or the London Marathon under The Outrunners name. Since programme launch, we have worked with over 250 people in our Academies.
-
Took diverse groups of young people to races and events, such as Hackney School Run and Black to the Trails.
-
Offered personalised mentoring to several of our young people who were struggling with school or life.
-
Expanded the career horizons of young people by offering them free work experience opportunities with our partner brands.
What do we want?
We are looking for an experienced Fundraising Partnerships Manager to help drive the next stage of growth at The Outrunners (current annual income circa £350k). This growth will enable us to expand our after-school and holiday programmes reaching more young people where they are, building their confidence and skills.
Reporting to the CEO, you will lead our brand and corporate partnerships fundraising strategy and delivery, securing and growing relationships with values-aligned brands and businesses who share our belief in the power of movement to transform young lives.
This is a strategic and hands-on role. You will identify new partnership opportunities, develop compelling proposals, and build long-term relationships that generate income, opportunities and experiences for the young people we support.
You will translate the lived experiences, energy and impact of our young people and programmes into compelling partnership opportunities that generate income, engagement and meaningful experiences for both our young people and partners.
You'll be equally comfortable developing strategy, pitching to partners, nurturing relationships and rolling up your sleeves to make things happen.
Does this sound like you?
-
A driven, experienced partnerships and fundraising professional who enjoys generating income, building strategic relationships and taking ownership of growth.
-
A natural networker and relationship-builder who is confident in engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels.

Join an ambitious, values-driven charity at a genuinely exciting moment in its development. The Peak District Foundation has grown substantially in recent years - raising over £1 million in 2025/26 - and you can help build on this as we move into the next chapter of the organisation.
About Us
The Peak District is the UK's oldest National Park — a landscape of moorlands, dales, farmland and villages that holds a special place in the hearts of millions. But like protected landscapes across the country, it faces real and growing pressures: from climate change, habitat loss, and threats to the Park’s heritage, to barriers that prevent many communities from connecting with it. At the Foundation, we fund and deliver projects to:
- Protect our peatlands: some of the most degraded upland peatland in Europe
- Restore nature and support biodiversity
- Connect people and communities to nature
- Improve access: repairing degraded paths and improving access for those with disabilities
- Protect the Park’s irreplaceable heritage sites
We are a small, supportive team who value collaboration, curiosity, kindness and getting stuck in. We love the Peak District and we work with partners, communities and experts to deliver meaningful, lasting impact.
About the role
This role is broad and varied. You will look after a mixed portfolio of supporters and prospects and take the lead on building a pipeline of potential supporters, creating high impact proposals and pitches, and building long-term meaningful relationships with grant makers, businesses and individual donors. Just as importantly, you will grow a genuine community of supporters who feel personally connected to the Park - through appeals and other ways for people to get involved - and you will have the opportunity to explore and develop new fundraising streams to support the Foundation’s long-term sustainability.
We are looking for a talented individual with excellent relationship building skills and a passion for the Park to enhance and maximise the fundraising potential at the Foundation. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated, proactive and imaginative fundraiser to make real impact and drive growth.
Interviews will take place on 28th and 29th September in person at our HQ in Bakewell. We are happy to reimburse travel costs for attending in-person interviews.
Please submit a copy of your CV and a covering letter of no more than 500 words outlining your interest in the role and how your experience aligns with the person specification.
Please specify in your covering letter the number of hours per week you would be looking to work if you were appointed to the role.
To create a Peak District which is thriving for nature and people and is protected for generations to come.

Beder is looking for an ambitious, entrepreneurial and hands-on Head of Fundraising & Partnerships to lead the next stage of our growth.
Beder was established in memory of Beder Mirjan, who sadly took his own life in 2017 at the age of 18. Since then, we have spent the past eight years working to raise awareness around mental health and suicide prevention, challenge stigma and, increasingly, provide tangible support to people who need it.
The focus of our work is the Beder Therapy Voucher programme, through which we fund free therapy for people (18+) across the UK as we all need someone to talk to with demand for that support growing significantly.
Until now, much of Beder's fundraising has been founder-led, supported by an incredible network of ambassadors, partners, businesses and individuals. We have built exciting partnerships across sport, business, entertainment and hospitality whilst creating a charity with an engaged community and an ambitious vision for the future.
We are now ready to build a dedicated and sustainable fundraising function so we are looking for someone who can take ownership of that journey.
This isn't a role for someone who simply wants to manage an existing fundraising programme as we are looking for someone who enjoys building one. Whilst working closely with our founder, trustees and wider team, you will develop and execute Beder's fundraising strategy, building sustainable income across corporate partnerships, major donors, trusts and foundations, individual giving, campaigns and events.
You will inherit a compelling cause, an established brand, strong relationships and a growing pipeline of opportunities – but you will also have the freedom to shape how Beder approaches fundraising for the future.
We are looking for someone who is equally comfortable developing a fundraising strategy, writing a compelling funding proposal, meeting a potential corporate partner and picking up the phone to a prospective supporter.
Above all, we want someone who believes in what Beder is trying to achieve and wants to roll their sleeves up and help us build something special.
Our immediate objective is to develop a diversified fundraising programme capable of sustaining our Beder Therapy Voucher service enabling Beder to meet the growing demand for free therapy while continuing to expand our wider mental health and suicide prevention work.
The successful candidate will have significant autonomy to develop the strategy, partnerships and fundraising infrastructure required to achieve that.
We are open to candidates from a range of fundraising backgrounds and would particularly welcome experience across corporate partnerships, philanthropy/major donors, trusts and foundations and strategic fundraising.
Experience within mental health is welcome but is not essential.
What matters most is that you are an outstanding relationship builder, an effective fundraiser and someone excited by the opportunity to help take a small, ambitious charity into its next chapter.
Provides free therapy for those 18+ nationwide whilst taking a unique approach to softly raising awareness around mental health and suicide prevention

Who we are
Nature is in crisis. People are destroying and consuming the natural world at a devastating rate, threatening the ecosystems on which all life depends. Birds are our early warning system, revealing the health of our planet and helping us understand the urgent action needed to protect it.
BirdLife International is the world’s largest partnership for nature conservation, bringing together 125 national organisations across six continents to protect birds, biodiversity and the natural systems that sustain life. Through our unique local-to-global approach, we work at the intersection of science, policy and community action to tackle the global nature and climate crises.
Using world-leading bird science, we collect and analyse data from across continents, landscapes and seascapes to identify the most effective and innovative conservation solutions. Our work conserves species, safeguards critical habitats and empowers communities to create lasting change for nature and people.
At the heart of BirdLife is a powerful global movement. More than two million birders, scientists and local volunteers help track, study and protect birdlife around the world, generating the knowledge and action needed to drive conservation impact at scale. Together, we are giving nature a voice and building a future in which birds, wildlife and people can thrive.
BirdLife International’s Development Team is in an exciting new phase of recruitment and growth and will be hiring for a number of roles to support growth and sustainability across the organisation – including this newly created role.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Development Officer and working with colleagues worldwide, the Head of Major Gifts will lead the organisation’s major gifts programme, taking responsibility for both strategic development and frontline fundraising. The Head of Major Gifts will build pipeline, create new opportunities, strengthen fundraising discipline and embed a proactive new-business culture across the major gifts function. Seeking to grow and develop this area, the Head of Major Gifts will play both an operational and strategic role – personally winning and managing relationships at the £250k+ level, as well as developing the team and the strategy. It will also have the opportunity to partner with the Chief Development Officer on principal gifts at the £1m+ level.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a major and principal gifts strategy to grow high-value individual giving across the UK, US and other global markets, in partnership with the CDO.
- Lead, coach and develop the Major Gifts team of 3, providing direct, hands-on role-modelling in cultivation and solicitation.
- Represent Major Gifts on the Development Management Team to steward the Development programme at BirdLife and collectively lead transformational change, especially the shared delivery of the Development strategy.
- Represent Major Gifts on the Principal Gifts Working Group.
- Identify opportunities to grow BirdLife’s donor base in key regions, particularly in the U.S. and Europe.
- Personally develop and manage a portfolio of £250k–£1m+ donors and prospects and provide direct, hands-on support to the CDO on principal-level (£1m+) relationships and proposals.
- Ensure each team member undertakes new business activity to build a robust pipeline within designated markets and giving levels, feeding future portfolio growth for the team.
- Set and monitor major gifts income targets and performance goals; track progress and pipeline health and provide regular reports to leadership on revenue generation and donor engagement and take corrective actions as needed.
- Manage the Major Gifts team budget, recruitment and resource allocation.
Who we are looking for
This role would suit a seasoned major gifts leader, ideally with experience in the conservation and/or international NGO space. We are looking for someone who enjoys being both hands-on and strategic, with experience securing and managing transformative (£250k+) gifts – and coaching others to maximise their own portfolios. A new-business mindset is crucial, as this role will continue BirdLife International’s major-giving growth trajectory.
- Experience personally raising six- and seven-figure gifts from individuals.
- Experience of successfully developing and delivering a major gifts/principal gifts strategy.
- Experience coaching or line-managing fundraisers to develop their own donor relationships.
- Experience working in an international, complex, not-for-profit environment.
- Experience managing a small major gifts team, including budgetary responsibility.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders using a partnerships approach.

BirdLife International’s Development Team is in an exciting new phase of recruitment and growth and will be hiring for a number of roles to support growth and sustainability across the organisation – including this newly created role.
About the role
As Philanthropy Manager for the Europe and Central Asia (ECA) region of BirdLife International, you will play a key role in growing philanthropic income to support the RENATE initiative and wider ecological restoration programmes across the region. Working with conservation partners throughout Europe and Central Asia, you’ll help secure support for landscape-scale restoration projects in the Balkans, Türkiye and the Caucasus, while building relationships with donors and foundations across key philanthropic markets, including Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany and the UK.
Joining at an exciting stage of growth, you’ll help shape BirdLife ECA’s approach to philanthropy, develop new funding opportunities and build lasting partnerships that support some of the region’s most important restoration programmes.
This is a newly created, highly external-facing role within a growing fundraising team, focused on engaging European foundations, major donors, family offices and donor-advised funds. You’ll play a leading role in establishing a sustainable pipeline of philanthropic support while helping to grow BirdLife ECA’s profile and fundraising reach across the region.
- Develop and implement a philanthropy fundraising strategy, including prospect cultivation and donor stewardship plans.
- Build a strong pipeline of prospective donors through research, networking and relationship development.
- Cultivate, solicit and steward new philanthropic relationships, securing first-time gifts, repeat support and multi-year partnerships.
- Create compelling funding propositions and tailored donor materials in collaboration with programme and development colleagues.
- Represent BirdLife International at donor meetings, conferences, networking events and cultivation activities across Europe.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for an entrepreneurial, relationship-driven fundraiser excited by the opportunity to create something new within an international conservation network spanning Europe and Central Asia. This could be the ideal next step for someone with experience in philanthropy, major donor fundraising or another relationship-led discipline who is ready to broaden their experience and take on a more strategic, internationally focused role. What matters most is your ability to build trust, spot opportunities, develop meaningful relationships and engage supporters around a compelling vision.
You will bring sound knowledge of the European philanthropic landscape, excellent communication and influencing skills and the confidence to engage senior stakeholders with diplomacy, professionalism and discretion.
- Experience building and managing donor or stakeholder relationships, ideally within philanthropy, major giving, or another relationship-led fundraising environment.
- A proactive, self-starting approach with the confidence to help shape a newly created fundraising programme.
- Excellent communication skills, both written via strong proposals and verbal, with the ability to inspire, influence and negotiate with a range of audiences.
- A talent for networking, identifying opportunities and turning connections into long-term partnerships.
- The ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues, partners and supporters across different countries, cultures and time zones.
- A willingness to travel across Europe and Central Asia to build relationships and represent BirdLife’s work.
- An interest in international conservation, nature restoration, climate action or sustainable development.
- Excellent written and verbal English; additional European languages are an advantage.
