CRM & Data Insight Lead

Position: CRM & Data Insight Lead
Location: Cambridge, Biomedical Campus/Hybrid (onsite 4 days per week)
Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 per annum (dependant on skills and experience)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Part-time of 30 hours per week will be considered
Contract: Permanent

About the Role
As the CRM & Data Insight Lead, you will be responsible for managing one of the organisations most valuable assets, the CRM database (Donorfy), and work to help maximise its value to the strategy and fundraising goals. The direction of travel is set on transforming the charity, in particular, cancer and children’s services. With two capital build projects on the horizon, there is a real opportunity for you to work with the team to use all the CRM and rich data insight to help make evidence-based decisions and bring an elevated level of strategic focus to help transform healthcare across the region and beyond.
You’ll work closely with colleagues across all of the teams, from helping Income Generation and Communications colleagues to use the CRM and data insight to inform strategy and tactics, to helping colleagues in Finance to implement better reporting and more efficient solutions. You will also work closely with the Income Generation and Communications Teams to support their goal of growing the number of supporters and their value to the charity through data-led fundraising and marketing activities.
About You
We are looking for someone who has relevant experience or is educated to degree level with excellent communication and problem solving skills.
You will have experience of:
- CRM systems and their management
- Using data visualization tools such as PowerBI
- Producing business insights, data analytics, and reports, and using these to make recommendations to key stakeholders
- Managing multiple projects in a busy, target orientated environment

Main Responsibilities
- Enhance and support Thirtyone:eight’s Microsoft Dynamics CRM to meet business requirements, ensure reliability, performance, security and compliance with GDPR.
- Create Power Apps to support the ongoing requirements of the business
- Perform Unit Testing and end-to-end testing as appropriate
- Liaise with end users for User Acceptance Testing and user-training
- Maintain clear and up to date documentation of system design, configuration, workflows, and user guides
Specific Responsibilities
- Work with the Senior Developer to support and enhance Thirtyone:eight’s Microsoft Dynamics CRM, ensuring it is secure, fit for purpose, and meets service and reporting needs.
- Design and maintain Power Platform tools, including Power Apps and Power Automate, with user-friendly interfaces for efficient data entry and access.
- Create and optimise workflows and automations to improve efficiency, strengthen data quality, and reduce manual processes.
- Optimise the use of storage within Thirtyone:eight’s Dataverse environment.
- Facilitate workshops, discussions, and user interviews to capture functional and non-functional requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear, structured specifications and user stories.
- Validate requirements with stakeholders to ensure shared understanding before development begins.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and data quality enhancement.
- Collaborate with users and managers to translate requirements into practical, user-friendly solutions, supported by appropriate documentation.
- Integrate Power Apps with other Microsoft services, such as SharePoint and Teams, and with third-party tools where applicable.
- Develop and follow test plans to support reliable delivery of changes and enhancements.
- Keep system documentation current, covering design, configuration, workflows, reporting structures, and user guidance.
- Ensure all developments comply with GDPR, data protection, and security standards.

Experience in application or systems development, with either direct Microsoft Dynamics/Power Platform experience or transferable experience that would support rapid cross-training, including:
- Developing, configuring, or supporting business applications using a modern programming language or low-code platform.
- Working with relational databases, data models, queries, reporting, dashboards or structured business data.
- Creating or working with APIs, integrations, connectors or data flows between systems.
- Gathering user requirements and translating them into practical technical specifications or solutions.
- Testing, documenting, deploying and supporting system changes or enhancements.
B) Desirable Experience:
- Direct experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Dataverse, Power Apps, or Power Automate.
- Experience with Power BI or other reporting tools.
- Experience working in a charity, membership, CRM, case management, or safeguarding-related environment.
