To enable vulnerable people living in a variety of different tenures to manage their tenancies/ licences and move towards greater independence within the community by providing a flexible and individually tailored support package. Support Worker will give practical support to help people maintain their tenancy, stay well, exercise choice and control in their care and lives and participate in the community. Oaklands is made up of a newly refurbished six-bedroom home, located close to each other in Ealing, West London. We work with up to 6 young people at a time, providing a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment. Richmond Carers Centre has the mission to help unpaid adult carers to live a full, active and meaningful life by providing them with advice, information, activities, breaks and emotional support either face to face, by phone or by email to enable them to live well.

As an Adult Carers Support Worker, you will be part of a small, dedicated team and take a lead on providing emotional support to adult carers and a commitment to enhancing their health and wellbeing. Much of your work will involve actively listening to carers, often via the phone support line, providing information, advice and support. As part of the Adult Carers Support Team, you will also be involved in organising breaks for carers, outreach activities and leisure events, as well as group work to help enhance carers’ health and wellbeing. Our client looking for an Assistant Support Worker (known internally as Duty Worker) to join their team in Hounslow. The Hounslow LIFE service is a large multi-site service that currently has a staff team of 31 supporting 86 clients; covering specialism's such as Homelessness, Substance Use and Mental Health. The service focuses on supporting residents around their strengths and aspiration's for the future.

This is an exciting opportunity to join their new Assessment Hub team at Apple Tree Cottage, providing rapid assessment and support into appropriate accommodation to clients over a 28-day period, ensuring those at risk of rough sleeping and homelessness can be directed to services suitable to their immediate, medium and longer term needs. 

The role of a Duty Worker is to jointly manage the safe day to day running of the project with other members of the team and to provide support and advice to clients. 

• The first point of contact at Reception or over the phone for clients and visitors
• Responsible for coordinating the Health and Safety within the service with the support of the Service Manager. 
• Expected to regularly participate in team meetings and other ad hoc project groups as agreed with the management and team of the project.

Please note, due to the needs of their services, there is a requirement to work a shift rota, so flexibility is required. This will include some weekends and bank holidays.

For this role staff can claim an additional 20% pay premium for hours worked between 8pm and 8am Monday to Friday, and all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.

Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced mental health professional to join our exciting new project, working with those engaging in gambling harms behaviours and affected others. The role will include various workstreams to the service, including: crisis de-escalation, casework, psychoeducation workshops and facilitating a space for peer-led activities.

Your role as a support worker will be to de-escalate those in a state of crisis which is exacerbated or influenced by gambling related behaviours. You will be expected to manage crises within a drop-in model. You will be expected to hold your own caseload of clients, providing 1:1 bespoke advice surrounding gambling and mental health support. In addition, you will aid in facilitating peer-led psychoeducation groups addressing root causes of gambling and a safe environment for loved ones to build meaningful peer connections. You will be joining a small team and be expected to work in partnership with your peer support workers and service lead. We are seeking autonomous, creative individuals with experiences of working with behaviours around addiction.
 

Key Responsibilities

• De-escalate immediate mental health crises
• Co-produce and facilitate various psychoeducation workshops
• Hold your own caseload of clients; providing advice and support on various matters eg financial management, debt, housing and other social issues pertaining to gambling behaviours
