What you'll do:
- Building supportive, trusting relationships with customers and creating a positive atmosphere in the home.
- Following lone working protocols and maintaining high levels of awareness to health and safety for self, colleagues and customers.
- Supporting customers to maintain a healthy and clean living environment, where appropriate, provide assistance to maintain their living areas are clean and safe from hazards.

Context and Background

The varied role sits within the Volunteer Board Fundraising team which leads income generation through regional and national volunteer boards, volunteer-led fundraising initiatives and delivery of special events through our high value event committees.

These activities play a vital role in maximising sustainable income, engaging senior volunteers, and supporting long -term supporter relationships.

Job purpose

• To contribute towards achieving the team’s objectives by providing event logistics, finance and admin support to the team.

• To support the team in delivering the agreed departmental strategy, goals and fundraising budget.

• To work effectively with other departments in fundraising and other functions within the NSPCC to maximise income for children.Key relationships - Internal

Main duties and responsibilities

• To support Senior E vent Managers with the development and delivery of their events, by attending committee meetings, carrying out tasks such as securing prizes, recruiting volunteers, managing small suppliers and completing admin tasks to agreed standards and deadlines.

• To support the Senior E vent Managers by building effective relationships with senior volunteers by attending committee meetings, typing up meeting minutes

• To carry out research for the development of events, such as researching new venues and prize partners.

• To draft and produce written correspondence such as letters, impact reports and other documents as required, using word processing, databases and spreadsheets to required standards.

• To undertake and lead specific fundraising projects as required to support the department’s fundraising.

• To organise and co -ordinate logistics for internal and external meetings on behalf of the team.

• To provide financial administrative assistance to budget holders, including processing invoices, placing orders, undertaking financial analysis, cash handling and banking in line with NSPCC policies and procedures.

Person specification

1. Experience of successfully working in a customer focussed environment and confidently liaising both across teams internally and with senior contacts externally to support departmental activities.

About this job

The Head of Research enables successful delivery of the organisation’s ground-breaking Research Strategy. They will provide vital leadership, strategic direction and day to day management of the MS Society’s research programme as well as leadership of the Research Team.

We have a Housing Management Apprenticeship opportunity available for an 18 month fixed term contract in Bristol.

What you’ll be doing

Working as a Housing Management Apprentice Worker, you will complete practical work experience and academic learning to build the knowledge, skills and experience to develop a career in the housing and homelessness sector.

As an Apprentice Worker you will:

• Work as part of a team to support with general housing management and operations of accommodation services.
• Work alongside colleagues, students and volunteers working together directly with residents to support and empower people to recover from homelessness and rebuild their lives.
• Develop the skills to support housing and tenancy management functions and assist with lettings and property maintenance processes.  
• Supporting with void management, repairs reporting, rent and arrears processes.
• Gain practical experience and the skills required for future employment in housing management.
• Learn how to deliver day-to-day services while collaborating with colleagues and external partners.
• Have opportunities to shadow experienced staff and receive on-the-job training.
• Complete the practical element of your apprenticeships with meetings and event attendance as well as formal learning while completing a Level Housing and Property Management Qualification
• Complete on and off the job learning, shadowing and development opportunities.
• Receive support and supervision from an Apprenticeship Advisor as well as a direct line manager, every step of the way.

Where you’ll work

Our level 2 pathway provides semi-independent accommodation and housing related support to people who may have complex needs, including multiple challenges such as physical and mental health issues, substance use and a history of trauma. We are dedicated to providing a safe, high quality and inclusive service to people while they are living in supported accommodation, and a positive move-on into independent housing.

Our residents are male and female living in shared and self-contained properties.

What we’re looking for

Our Apprentice scheme is specifically designed for people with lived experience, and we can only offer places to the people the programme is designed for.

You may have personally experienced homelessness (spent time sleeping rough, or lived in a hostel, refuge or supported accommodation), you may have experienced domestic abuse, mental health struggles, substance misuse problems or had contact with the criminal justice system and have used recovery services as a result.

We’re looking for people with motivation to build a career in housing and homelessness, who can bring:

• Learning and reflections gained through lived experience and recovery.
• Ability to demonstrate how personal lived experience has shaped your approach to support and wellbeing.
• Good communication and listening skills, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
• Some experience through volunteering or working in a similar setting.
• Basic admin and IT skills and a proactive attitude towards learning.

• Manage project plans, budgets, and risks, addressing and escalating changes and impacts on timelines and budgets promptly.
• Build relationships with stakeholders and develop communication plans to keep them and the organisation up to date with project progress and performance.
• Coordinate the development and monitoring of project metrics, ensuring variance and performance are reported to relevant stakeholders.
• Regularly report on project progress and performance, and conduct retrospectives to improve future processes.
• Help refine and evolve the project management methodology within the organisation, mentoring colleagues and promoting best practices in digital project delivery.
• Contribute to quarterly programme planning and alignment across projects.
• Examples of projects you could work on include our welfare campaign in relation to the government’s plans around PIP (Personal Independence Payment), Search engine optimisation initiative or annual winter fundraising appeal.
