The Operations and Outreach Officer supports the smooth running of Cambridge City Foodbank’s operational service, from warehouse to Foodbank Welcome Centres and to Fairbite Food Clubs. Principally community focused it includes supporting good-practice in centres, networking with support agencies, working with visitors/members, and promoting CCFb with community groups

.

● Support the operation of Foodbank’s Welcome Centres and  voucher system – helping develop good-practice, train volunteers, resolve issues and ensure a welcoming service.

● Obtain regular feedback from foodbank visitors via surveys, interviews and work with groups, to help improve services through listening.

● Support the inclusion and development of those with lived experience of food poverty, identifying skills and talents and encouraging their contribution in Foodbank services.

● Update ‘support service’ signposting information - Schedule agency visits to centres, attend meetings to identify / develop support pathways. Create signposting resources. Inform / train volunteers on support services available for Foodbank visitors and Fairbite members.

● Support the operation of Fairbite Food Clubs ‘social supermarkets’ – providing operational support to the Fairbite Network Manager. (Includes occasional evening and weekends)

● Support Warehouse operations – working with the Warehouse & Logistics Coordinator to ensure smooth running of the warehouse. (Inc. lifting, and driving manual & automatic vans)

● Promote the work of the foodbank within the community. Visiting community groups, churches and local businesses to talk about the Foodbank’s work and encourage referral or donation partnerships. (Includes occasional evenings and weekends)

● Assist coordination of the Supermarket Food Drives

● Other activities may be requested from time to time by the CEO, and senior staff, consistent with the job role and the needs of the Charity.

Personal Specification:

Technical skills and minimum knowledge:

● Experience of coordinating / managing projects.

● Experience managing and working with volunteers.

● Experience of working alongside people affected by poverty, inequality and hardship.

● Able to work on own initiative to obtain information and appropriately convey to others.

● Confident in the use of IT and MS Word software.

● Able to lift supermarket crates onto shelves and in/out of vans. (10-15kgs)

● Full clean driving licence, and able to drive manual and auto-electric vans.

● Use of car (or cycle) to travel between foodbank and community locations.

● Confident in communicating with people from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds in a friendly, non-judgemental manner, and to convey information and win support.

We have an exciting opportunity to join Birmingham's brand-new Family IDVA Service as an IDVA Team Leader, helping to shape and embed an innovative service supporting families affected by domestic abuse across the city.

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in establishing a new city-wide service from the very beginning. Working within Birmingham's Family Hubs, IDVA Team Leaders will combine specialist domestic abuse expertise with leadership responsibility, supporting the safe and effective delivery of services for non-abusive parents and their children who have experienced domestic abuse.

As a Team Leader, you will work closely with the Operations Manager to support the mobilisation, development and ongoing success of the service. You will provide day-to-day leadership, support and guidance to a team of Family IDVAs, helping to create a positive, high-performing and learning-focused culture.

This permanent, part-time role (30 hours per week) is hybrid, with regular visibility required across Birmingham's 10 Family Hubs. You will lead a dedicated team of 5 Family IDVAs, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality and trauma-informed support to families affected by domestic abuse.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced IDVA looking to take the next step in their leadership journey, or for an existing senior practitioner who is passionate about developing others whilst continuing to make a direct difference to families affected by domestic abuse.

You will also play an important role in strengthening Birmingham's response to domestic abuse, supporting partnership working and helping to build professional confidence across Early Help, education, health and community settings.

About the role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced IDVA Team Leader to join Birmingham's new Family IDVA Service. This is a part-time role, working 30 hours per week, and offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery and development of an innovative city-wide service supporting parents aged 16+ and their children under 18 who are affected by domestic abuse.

Based within Birmingham's Family Hubs, the service will provide specialist, trauma-informed domestic abuse support to families at the earliest opportunity, helping to prevent escalation of harm and improve safety, resilience and wellbeing. The IDVA Team Leader will help ensure that families receive a flexible, whole-family response, with the voices and needs of both parents and children remaining central to assessment, safety planning and support.

In this role, you will provide leadership and day-to-day support to a team of Family IDVAs, helping to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe and effective services. You will line manage a team of frontline practitioners, providing supervision, coaching, case guidance and performance support, while promoting a positive, confident and resilient team culture. You will also support the Operations Manager with the effective running and development of the service. This will include supporting case allocation, monitoring caseloads, undertaking case reviews and audits, ensuring accurate recording on case management systems, and contributing to performance reporting against service standards, contractual requirements and KPIs. You will use data, quality assurance and learning from practice to help identify trends, strengthen service delivery and support continuous improvement.

You will provide advice and guidance to colleagues around safeguarding, risk and case complexity, ensuring the service prioritises the safety, dignity and individual needs of families. Partnership working will be central to this role. You will work closely with Birmingham Children's Trust, Family Hubs, Early Help, education, health, community organisations and other statutory and voluntary sector partners to strengthen referral pathways, promote access to support and improve coordinated responses for families affected by domestic abuse. You will also contribute to the service's training and engagement offer, helping to build awareness and understanding of domestic abuse amongst professionals across Birmingham's family support system.

Wintercomfort works with people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or with a history of homelessness. We provide services to aid every stage of recovery - from immediate basic welfare needs to long term help in identifying and dealing with the problems which are undermining their stability, and enabling them to engage with education, employment and specialist health services.  National statistics rank the numbers of rough sleepers in Cambridge within the highest 20 UK local authorities.

Wintercomfort is the only day-time service in the city, providing year-round advice and support for homeless or vulnerably housed people. Over the past three decades Wintercomfort has continued to grow and adapt to meet the needs of the homeless community.

Our specialist Housing Team provides expert advice and support to help people successfully navigate the search for housing and crucially, support them to sustain life away from the street.

The Women’s Project at Wintercomfort is dedicated to empowering vulnerable women from diverse backgrounds who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness. Our objective is to provide comprehensive support across various critical areas, including assistance with domestic and sexual abuse, housing, benefits, debt management, and employment.

About you and the Role

An experienced Women’s Housing Project Worker dedicated to delivering outreach-led, trauma-informed support for women who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, experiencing domestic abuse or facing multiple disadvantage.

The role will focus on building safe and trusting relationships in community settings, with additional support delivered within the centre where appropriate, helping women access services, address housing-related barriers and work towards safe accommodation, tenancy sustainment, wellbeing and independence. The post provides practical housing-related support, signposting, liaison with partner agencies and sustained casework.

Key Responsibilities

• Outreach-Led Engagement – Prioritise proactive community outreach to identify and engage women who may be hidden, isolated, at risk, reluctant to approach services or unable to safely disclose their situation. Build safe, trusting and professional relationships through consistent contact in community settings, with additional support available within Overstream House where appropriate.
• Practical Housing-Related Support – Provide practical housing-related support to women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, including support to gather information, complete forms, understand correspondence, prepare for appointments and access appropriate statutory, voluntary or legal services where specialist advice is required.
• Casework and Action Planning – Manage a caseload of women with varied and often complex needs, agreeing clear action plans, reviewing progress and providing sustained follow-up after initial contact. Support women to work towards safe accommodation, tenancy sustainment, improved wellbeing, increased confidence and greater independence.
• Safeguarding and Trauma-Informed Practice – Deliver trauma-informed, strengths-based and person-centred support that promotes safety, choice and empowerment. Recognise and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, domestic abuse, mental health needs and other risks, working within professional boundaries and organisational procedures.
• Women-Only Group Sessions and Independence Support – Deliver women-only group sessions and workshops, either directly or through partner organisations, that promote independent living, tenancy sustainment, financial capability and confidence. Support and signpost women to access education, training, volunteering and employment opportunities where these contribute to long-term housing stability and independence.
• Partnership Working and Referrals – Develop effective working relationships with domestic abuse services, local authority housing teams, landlords, housing providers, education and training providers, health and wellbeing services, legal services and voluntary sector partners. Support coordinated responses, make timely referrals and build strong partner relationships that extend beyond attendance at drop-in sessions
• Records, Monitoring and Service Development – Maintain accurate case records, outreach records, risk information and outcome data on Inform in line with organisational procedures and funder requirements. Contribute to monitoring, reporting and service learning, using evidence from outreach and casework to improve outcomes for women experiencing homelessness, domestic abuse or housing insecurity and deliver impactful case studies for funder reports.

The Head of Fundraising and Development role offers an exceptional opportunity to shape Woman’s Trust’s income strategy, develop new partnerships and play a central role in the organisation’s next phase of growth.

We are seeking an established income-generation leader who combines strategic and commercial judgement with a willingness to remain hands-on. The successful candidate will have a strong record of securing significant income, identifying new opportunities and building effective relationships with funders, commissioners and partners. They will also be a constructive and positive senior colleague: someone who works collaboratively, communicates clearly, takes ownership and contributes actively to the success of the wider organisation.

The role will oversee the development and implementation of the fundraising strategy and funding pipeline. Additionally, it will ensure the maintenance and growth of excellent relationships with both existing and prospective funders, including the stewardship of grants and timely reporting. Responsibilities will also include reviewing, updating, and developing service budgets, as well as overseeing or coordinating the submission of high-quality bids, funding approaches, and events.

As a member of the senior leadership team, this post will work cross-departmentally and will contribute to the overall strategy of Woman’s Trust, working closely with the CEO and the Board of Trustees. We're looking for a Tenancy Sustainment & Community Progression Coordinator to support people as they make the transition from homelessness into accommodation. They provide practical guidance and motivational support to help people manage their tenancies and settle into a new community. The Coordinator supports housed clients to resolve problems so that repeat homelessness is prevented. They also connect people using Catching Lives’ services to community activities or groups, and enable access to employment, training, education and volunteering opportunities so that people improve their skills, confidence, social connection and well-being.

Key responsibilities

Tenancy Sustainment

• In conjunction with the Manager and Senior Project Worker, assess and prioritise the need for tenancy support on a case-by-case basis.
• Meet people in the day centre before they move into a tenancy.
• Visit clients in their homes and in community locations to provide practical and motivational support to sustain tenancies and prevent repeat homelessness.
• Share practical skills and guidance to support tenants e.g. paying bills, reporting disrepair, choosing furniture etc.
• Help people get to know their neighbourhood e.g. visiting a local café, GP etc.
• Problem-solve with individuals to overcome challenges or concerns.
• Liaise with other agencies e.g. councils, landlords, social services, housing associations, maintenance contractors to help people sustain their tenancies.
• Apply for individual grants or provide direct support through Catching Lives’ tenancy sustainment budget for specific items e.g. household starter packs.
• Keep accurate records of tenancy sustainment actions and outcomes.
• Make appropriate use of technology provided by Catching Lives e.g. alert systems for checking in and out when lone working.

Community progression

• In conjunction with colleagues, identify people who want to access community activities, education, training, employment or volunteering.
• Make plans on a case-by-case basis, led by the client.
• Develop external relationships and establish referral pathways/signposting to local partners e.g. employment, education, training, volunteering.
• Identify community groups/activities and share relevant information with clients.
• Accompany clients e.g. to open days, taster sessions, course registration.
• Keep accurate records of community progression actions and outcomes.

Essential

• Experience of providing one-to-one support or advice to individuals e.g. in relation to housing, benefits, healthcare.
• Good practical knowledge and skills around household/tenancy management.
• Proven ability to work independently and proactively, and to use initiative.

Working at Catching Lives

Catching Lives is a community charity, currently staffed by a team of 10. We’re in the process of expanding with current recruitment, so that we can introduce community-based support alongside strengthening our core day centre offer.

The successful candidate will complete a structured induction that includes shadowing colleagues and visiting local services. Staff typically attend weekly team meetings on Wednesday afternoons, as well as having regular 1-1s with their line manager, and there is confidential access to an employee assistance scheme. The day centre offers free tea and coffee throughout the working day. As well as core training for new starters, there are ongoing training and development opportunities.

THE ROLE

The postholder will support the Prevention Coordinator to ensure events are delivered safely and effectively.

They will offer information, advice and guidance to people facing issues that are currently or may soon affect their housing security — delivering swift, impactful interventions that help reduce the risk of homelessness, and advocating and mediating on clients' behalf as they navigate complex bureaucratic systems. This role involves building meaningful relationships with some of the most vulnerable people in our communities, connecting them with the Welfare Benefits, Housing Allocations, Citizens Advice, mental health and substance misuse support they need and deserve.

The postholder will work closely with a wide range of partners, including homelessness service providers, local authorities, and healthcare and wellbeing organisations. They will carry a varied caseload, conducting assessments and working creatively to navigate the complex and challenging issues that can lead to clients becoming homeless, supporting them to engage with services. Working closely with SPEAR's Homeless Health Link Team, they will support colleagues with client-facing work and carry a caseload of clients requiring homelessness prevention support.

This role will be spread across 4 days per week.

As our Puppy Coordinator, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our assistance dog programmes by overseeing the development and welfare of puppies during the early stages of their training journey.  Working closely with volunteer Puppy Socialisers, Foster Carers, Trainers, and Colleagues, you will provide guidance, support, and training to ensure puppies receive the best possible start. You will be responsible for coordinating placements, monitoring their progress, maintaining accurate records and helping volunteers develop the skills and confidence needed to prepare our puppies for advanced assistance dog training. This rewarding role combines relationship building, organisation and a passion for canine welfare, offering the opportunity to make a direct and lasting impact on the lives of both our dogs and the people they will go on to support. 

Previous experience of training dogs using reward-based methods and a full clean driving licence are essential for this job position.

You will be required to be able to commute to our Training Centre based in Sheffield, however this role will require to mainly work in the Derbyshire / Nottinghamshire area.  The role involves working independently so you must be able to show the ability to work alone effectively, prioritise your workload and respond and adapt to the demands of the job entails.
