About the role
We’re seeking a senior media and PR officer – policy, campaigns and public health to join our talented and ambitious media and PR team for six months. Supporting the delivery of annual media plans for these areas of work, you’ll leverage our position as leading experts on breast cancer to secure media profile that increases our influence, engagement and support among target audiences, championing the needs of people affected by breast cancer, engaging key policy decision-makers and the NHS through our change-making campaigns and calls to action, and communicating our vital breast health awareness and health information and messaging to key stakeholders and the public to help make change happen now.

About you
You’ll be great at building trusted and influential relationships across internal and external contacts up to a senior level including colleagues, journalists, contacts at stakeholder organisations (such as NHS and NICE), people affected by breast cancer who support our work, and celebrities and influencers who support Breast Cancer Now.
With an understanding and passion for policy, campaigns, and public health you’ll draw on your experience of working across health communications and/or media/PR environments to digest and distil complex and sensitive information into compelling media copy, with an eye for spotting proactive and reactive media opportunities to secure impactful profile.

JOB PURPOSE
To provide information, advice, support and advocacy work on all forms of gender based violence faced by migrant women, including forced marriage, rape and sexual abuse, honour based crimes and related issues such as immigration/asylum and no recourse to public funds, matrimonial and children, housing and homelessness, mental health and financial matters. Your casework will focus on women with complex needs.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide a professional high-quality VAWG advocacy and outreach service.
2. Undertake casework and advocacy (this will include liaising with relevant professionals and agencies such as solicitors, social workers, police officers etc.)
3. Provide practical support such as accompanying women to appointments and courts, making reports to such agencies or collecting belongings and otherwise taking all necessary steps to ensure the general safety and wellbeing of women and children.
4. Write assessment reports and support letters, and under supervision, help to collect evidence and statements, as well as undertake some basic legal representation.
5. Undertake risk assessments for referral to the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARACs)
6. Establish links with key partners [local authority, police, health, schools, etc.] to ensure effective referral routes and information sharing protocols.
7. Assist in developing and meeting quality standards in relation to advice and casework. This includes administration and IT systems for advice and casework.
8. Cover the helpline as required.
9. Assist migrant women to access immigration advice, and assist in meeting their housing needs.
10. To undertake campaigning and policy work arising from the advice and casework (this may involve some weekend/evening work)
11. Where necessary to assist staff in organising and running support group activities and consultations for women who are isolated and vulnerable due to their experiences of violence and abuse.
12. To publicise and provide S4S services, and attend, contribute and represent the organisation at relevant local meetings or initiatives.

Purpose of the Role
The fundraising team at Breaking Barriers generates income from a range of sources: trusts and foundations, statutory and lottery, corporate and major donors. We sit within the wider Income and Engagement Directorate, alongside communications and public fundraising, and work closely together to drive income and engagement from funders, partners and supporters who share our vision that every refugee can access meaningful employment and build a new life.
The Development Officer manages our portfolio of small trusts and foundations (grants up to £10,000), securing income and developing relationships from existing donors and new prospects. The role involves writing compelling funding proposals, delivering effective stewardship, and meeting all reporting requirements to a high standard.
Alongside portfolio management, the post-holder co-ordinates our fundraising events programme, ensuring both online and in-person events deepen engagement with our cause. The role also provides active support across fundraising appeals and the statutory, lottery and major donor income streams, including prospect research. The post-holder will also contribute to the operational efficiency of the fundraising team through effective administration.
This is a varied, fast-paced role that will suit someone with strong writing skills, attention to detail and a genuine commitment to our mission. It offers real scope to develop knowledge and skills across a wide range of fundraising disciplines within a supportive and ambitious team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Income generation (60%)
· Manage and develop a portfolio of trusts and foundations awarding grants of up to £10,000, delivering tailored stewardship and relationship management across both warm relationships and cold prospects.
· Plan, write and submit compelling funding applications based on a clear understanding of Breaking Barriers' programmes, funding needs and funder requirements.
· Manage all reporting requirements within your portfolio, ensuring reports are completed accurately and to deadline.
· Undertake research to identify new prospects, gathering relevant background information including funding interests, grant levels and connection points with Breaking Barriers.

· Carry out prospect research to support the major gifts, statutory and lottery fundraising pipelines, producing clear, well-structured briefings for senior colleagues.

Purpose of the Role
The Communications & Engagement Officer is a key role within Breaking Barriers’ Income and Engagement Directorate. It helps refugees find meaningful employment through communications and fundraising activities that maintain and grow relationships with partners, funders, supporters and relevant influential organisations and individuals.
The post holder reports to the Senior Communications Manager, and works closely with the Head of Public Engagement, Senior Digital Marketing Manager and Fundraising & Partnerships Officer. They also lead or participate in activities involving colleagues across Breaking Barriers’ teams and our refugee clients.
This role contributes to the implementation of our communications, engagement and fundraising strategies, and is closely involved in team planning – including input into operational plans and communications campaigns to steward and inspire key audiences.
The Communications & Engagement Officer is responsible for the planning and creation of day-to-day communications across our owned channels, with a particular focus on social media. They are also responsible for managing social media interactions and outreach, and for creating selected content for Breaking Barriers’ website.
The post holder helps the Senior Communications Manager to ensure that organisational content complies with brand guidelines. And they play a key role in data management – maintaining our multi-media asset bank and the storytelling data within our Salesforce CRM.
This role will suit a team player who is able to build strong relationships across Breaking Barriers to support content creation, ethical storytelling and impact. The post-holder should be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, solution-focused and creative, whilst having a good eye for detail. About the Team
The High Value Partnerships department is crucial to achieving Shelter’s charitable, raising over £20 million a year through relationship-based fundraising with businesses, high-net-worth individuals, legacy pledgers, trusts.
This role will sit in a newly formed sub-team of Corporate Partnerships. The Corporate team has been successful in developing high value, long term and sector leading partnerships with companies such as IKEA, B&Q, HSBC UK and M&S.
About Breaking the Cycle
Breaking the Cycle is an access to banking programme for people with no fixed address. Access to banking is a key tool in breaking the cycle of homelessness. Shelter works with the financial services sector, to help them to better serve the needs of vulnerable customers and access basic banking products.
Breaking the Cycle is delivered with a network of charity partners and local organisations who serve vulnerable individuals, including those who experience rough sleeping, living in temporary accommodation, seeking asylum and surviving domestic abuse, to access a bank account. Through the network we ensure more people access the help they need to become financially included.
Breaking the Cycle is currently delivered in partnership with HSBC UK. In October 2025, HM Treasury announced an ambitious new Financial Inclusion strategy and identified Breaking the Cycle as a key programme to achieve their objectives. This will result in a significant expansion of Breaking the Cycle to an additional 5 major high street banks on a 12-month pilot period.
About the role
Reporting to the Senior Partnership Manager (Breaking the Cycle), this role will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Breaking the Cycle programme. The Executive will be responsible for the day-to-day management of two financial institutions, management of existing charity partners and onboarding new charity partners, as well as monitoring due diligence and safeguarding procedures. This role is fundamental to ensuring the programme runs smoothly.

The purpose of this role is to provide 1-1 support to an outreach caseload: ensuring survivors of trafficking and sexual exploitation understand their rights and that these are met, coaching survivors to identify their personal goals, supporting survivors to access the appropriate services/treatment providers and ultimately supporting them into independence.
We are looking for a passionate individual who has experience of working with women who have experienced trafficking, exploitation, and/or modern slavery, who is aligned with the vision and mission of Ella’s and who can develop strong partnerships with other community organisations and groups, both locally within London boroughs and London wide.

Job description
Casework provision
Provide high-quality casework support to service users on the outreach caseload (including children and families in some cases).
Support survivor empowerment to speak out and self-advocate
Carry out regular risk assessment with survivors and respond to any safeguarding concerns as per Ella’s safeguarding procedures
Create tailored support plans in collaboration with service users
Provide day-to-day support and build trusting relationships with the service users
Be sensitive to the rapidly changing emotional and physical needs of the service users and respond accordingly
Manage all paperwork, processing any personal data in accordance with Ella’s policies and procedures
Ensure casenote records are recorded within 24 hours of each service user contact using Ella’s case management system
Assist service users with administrative tasks as required: reaching out to supporting agencies, booking appointments, form-filling, and attending appointments
Assume an advocacy role during external appointments, if required
Assist in writing covering letters and support letters to compliment service users’ application forms, advocate for the service user in specific needs, or to keep other organisations updated as required
Research the requirements for benefit applications and assisting service users to complete (as required). E.g. S95 asylum subsistence claims, HC2 certificate applications, and state benefits claims
Assist with maintaining frequent communication with the Home Office, law enforcement and solicitors to progress survivor legal cases
Liaise effectively with other agencies involved in the care or support of service users to ensure their needs are sufficiently met
Safeguarding & health and safety
Ensure all major incidents, accidents, safeguarding concerns or potential hazards are managed, reported and recorded following Ella’s policies and procedures
Maintain a safe and secure working environment, ensuring all safety and security procedures are followed to keep self and others safe
Participate in the identification and assessment of risks and implement agreed working procedures to minimise their impact; writing risk assessments as required
Promote awareness of health and safety amongst service users, including those who use emergency/on call systems, fire prevention and control systems as necessary
Ensure the location confidentiality of Ella’s premises to protect survivors and safeguard staff and volunteers
Participate in any relevant safeguarding training and keep up to date with any changes to Ella’s safeguarding policies and procedures
Other/general duties
Develop strategic partnerships with local agencies working within the VAWG sector and other local organisations or businesses that could enrich the work of Ella’s
Take part in the out of hours on-call service
Attend any training required for the role, keeping up to date with any developments and changes within the sector
Represent the work at Ella’s with integrity at all times
Adhere to all of Ella's policies and procedures at all times
Be an active member of the organisation, attending any team meetings that are required and contribute to Ella's strategic goals and input into its direction of growth
Attend monthly supervision with the Service Manager and keep in regular contact
Handle emergency situations calmly and professionally
Complete any other duties as directed by the Service Manager which are within the scope of the role

We are looking for an additional team member to join our existing Universal Credit Support - Help to Claim team. The team provides an effective and efficient support service for first time Universal Credit claimants including those subject to managed migration. About the role
As a first line IT support engineer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our staff across the UK, acting as the first point of contact for all IT-related queries and incidents. About the role
The fundraising products marketing officer will assist with the marketing of two of our flagship products – the Pink Ribbon Walks and Walk 100 virtual challenges, as well as having opportunities to work on other projects across the public fundraising team and wider engagement directorate.

As campaign project coordinator, you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of Breast Cancer Now’s ambitious £60m philanthropic campaign.
