Job Purpose:

Flying Cars Innovation is looking for a hands-on digital fundraising expert to help create, test and pilot bold new fundraising propositions for charities.

This is not a traditional digital fundraising role. You won’t be spending your time endlessly optimising existing campaigns. Instead, you’ll use your digital expertise to help bring new fundraising ideas to life, starting with early audience insight, moving through idea generation and smoke testing, and then helping clients pilot new propositions capable of generating £1m+ in income.

You might be a digital fundraiser, paid social lead or acquisition specialist who has often thought:
“This campaign isn’t going to fly. It would work so much better if we launched a new product instead, and I have some great ideas.”

Working within the Money Advice Team (Community Debt)

Casework – The post-holder will carry a specialist caseload, providing advice and casework covering the full range of debt issues and solutions. This includes but is not limited to, dealing with emergencies, making use of the Breathing Space scheme, making offers of repayment, drafting financial statements, advising on insolvency options and providing budgeting advice. They will ensure that income maximisation is carried out and refer to other in-house advisers or specialist agencies as appropriate.

They will be required to act for the client where necessary and communicate with third parties to progress a case.

Advice will be delivered through a variety of channels including face to face (drop-in and appointments), telephone or digital channels and must conform to the Citizens Advice Quality of Advice standards and funder requirements.

The post-holder will work to individual targets that must be met in order to contribute to team targets.

We are recruiting a Challenge Events Fundraiser to grow PAPYRUS’ challenge event income by leading on allocated PAPYRUS own events, projects and campaigns and managing all third-party challenge events.

What you will do:

• Develop an events plan that will grow income using data from previous years to understand our supporters and build a creative and sustainable income plan for long term growth.
• Build and manage relationships with supporters across all communication channels and provide professional, relevant, timely and empathetic stewardship at all times.
• Raise awareness of PAPYRUS and its work by developing and delivering presentations and talks both online and face to face to supporters and facilitating necessary photo opportunities in line with GDPR for use if future promotional activity
• Manage costs and budgets for events, including forecasting, estimates and future year planning.
• Be proactive seeking out new initiatives and market trends in fundraising across the UK charitable sector.
• Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of PAPYRUS challenge event fundraising assets, collateral, materials, and policies and procedures ensuring all content is on brand and to a high standard.
• Working with colleagues in Business Support Services to use the data collected across all donation platforms to analyse and inform required reports and update existing reporting mechanisms.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Previous experience of working in a fundraising role for a UK registered charity
• Experience of successfully managing a portfolio of third-party events
• Proven track record of successful relationship management with donors/ fundraisers 
• Proven track record of working effectively in a team
• Experience in creating and monitoring budgets
• Experience using Raiser’s edge or a similar CRM database.
• Knowledge of regulatory environment for fundraising from events fundraising including sponsorship, data protection, Gift Aid (incl GASDS) and Fundraising Codes of Practice and regulation
• Good knowledge of data selection, data analysis, insight and application of datasets for maximum success
• Understanding of events fundraising
• Competence in the use of IT tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to work some unsocial hours and travel to meetings / events as required across the UK

Salary: £31,537 per annum (SCP 18) progressing by increments to £34,434 per annum (SCP 23)

Hours: 36 hours per week  

Location: Warrington; but will accept applications from across the UK to work remotely and travel to Warrington as and when required. Occasional travel across the UK will also be required for this role.

Contract: Permanent

We are looking for a creative communications professional with an interest in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), or vice versa. You will help embed more consistent, robust 

approaches to evidence, learning and communications across the organisation, with the aim of improving service quality and better demonstrating our impact to our community, partners and funders. 

This is a 12-month fixed-term role, with the primary goal of strengthening our communications and supporting our MEL processes across the organisation. There may be potential to extend the contract, depending on organisational needs and funding. 

You will be well supported by the Head of Programmes and Impact and work closely with Programme Managers to support the collection of impact data in meaningful ways — not just to meet funder requirements, but to inform learning and improve delivery. You’ll work closely with our Advocacy, Research and Campaigns manager to support the delivery of strategic communications and will play a key role in communicating our impact - using our branding guidelines - via social media channels, our website and internally. 

This is a great opportunity for someone who is excited about making data meaningful and useful for social justice work and understands the power of communicating impact via visual and social media. You are comfortable working in multicultural and multilingual settings and have a track record of working in MEL or in communications. While we’re looking for someone who can take initiative and contribute from early on, we’ll make sure you have the support you need to get to know our work and succeed in the role.

Key responsibilities

Communications 

• Take a lead on content creation for IRMO’s social media and website, writing engaging, accessible copy and creating engaging visuals suitable for a range of audiences 

• Work with the programmes team to create impactful content communicating impact data and learnings to all IRMO stakeholders

• Support with the management of IRMO’s website

• Helping to build an internal understanding of how effectively evaluating our activities supports the delivery of our communications and wider organisational objectives

Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning 

• Support teams with day-to-day data collection, in line with project and funding requirements.

• Collect qualitative data to generate useful insight and evidence e.g. through interviews or case studies 

• Contribute to funding applications with relevant data and impact evidence.

• Support the coordination of external impact reporting to funders and stakeholders 

• Support quarterly and annual reporting across programme areas 

• Support internal learning processes through participatory evaluations, feedback tools and workshops 

Person specification

Essential 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and good communication skills in Spanish or Portuguese

• 2+ years experience in a MEL, research or communications role, ideally in a community or non-profit setting

• Strong analytical skills, including experience using digital tools to manage and analyse data such as spreadsheets, databases and survey platforms

• Excellent interpersonal skills – able to work collaboratively, build relationships across teams

• Commitment to IRMO’s values, including anti-racism, anti-oppression, and community-led approaches, and an understanding of the issues facing migrant communities in the UK – particularly Latin Americans

Desirable 

• Experience in using Canva, Adobe tools or similar to design engaging and creative graphics for social media or printed materials

• Experience using CRM systems such as Views, Salesforce or Dynamics 365 

• Experience working with both quantitative and qualitative data to generate learning, demonstrate impact and inform-decision making 

• Experience facilitating learning and reflection processes, supporting services to adapt based on evidence

• Understanding of data protection standards (including GDPR) and ethical MEL or communications practices
