You will bring a strong understanding of the needs, perceptions and engagement barriers faced by African, Caribbean and Arabic-speaking communities experiencing mental health difficulties, including those who may be disengaged from services. You will have experience working directly with these communities, using co-production approaches that respect cultural needs and enable meaningful involvement and feedback. You will be confident managing services within budget, promoting equality, diversity and inclusion, and representing the organisation positively at external events through presentations and promotional activity. You will have excellent knowledge of mental health conditions, including signs, symptoms and treatments, with the ability to assess deteriorating mental health and take appropriate action. A strong working knowledge of housing, community care, mental health, health and safety, and welfare benefits legislation is essential, alongside the ability to use computer systems to produce accurate reports and monitor the quality of staff record-keeping to a high standard.

Job Title: Duty Independent Gender Violence Advocate (Duty IGVA)
Location: The Gaia Centre (Lambeth, London)

We are recruiting for a Duty Independent Gender Violence Advocate (IGVA) who will be working closely with survivors of domestic, and other gender-based abuse to provide high quality independent support, guidance and advice to survivors across all risk levels and their children.
In this role the Duty IGVA is a part of a busy team. The Duty IGVA will be the first point of contact for survivors who have been referred to the Gaia Centre by other professionals. The Duty IGVA also will be responsible for processing any self-referrals of individuals contacting the service and wishing to access support. The Duty IGVA will be responsible for responding to daily enquiries from partnership agencies, public and impacted individuals over the phone and email.
In some circumstances the Duty IGVA will be contacting survivors directly to assess their level of risk and needs to ensure eligibility. The Duty IGVA will be responsible for carrying out and implementing safety plans and needs assessments. The Duty IGVA will ensure an effective handover of the case to the relevant team for ongoing support.
The Duty IGVA will empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical and personal welfare support. The Duty IGVA will ensure that survivors are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment, enabling them to access their rights, make decisions and increase their life options. The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors.
The job involves informing survivors of the full range of civil, criminal and practical options that might increase their safety. The jobalso involves working in a fast-paced environment.

This new community-based service will provide intensive support to children and young people aged 11–25 who are at risk of, involved in, or affected by serious youth violence.
Working closely with Police, NHS and safeguarding partners, the service will support young people who present at hospital with violence-related injuries, have been arrested or identified as being involved in serious youth violence, or who are vulnerable to exploitation, re-injury or further offending.
The service aims to intervene at critical moments, using trauma-informed approaches to improve safety, reduce risk and help young people access positive opportunities and support.
About this key role
As a Female A&E and Custody Mentor, you will provide intensive one-to-one mentoring and support to women and girls aged 11–25 who are experiencing significant vulnerabilities linked to violence, exploitation and offending.
You will respond quickly to referrals, often following a hospital admission, arrest or safeguarding concern, using these critical moments as opportunities to begin meaningful engagement and support. You will build trusted relationships with women, young girls and their families, helping them to increase their safety, develop resilience and make positive changes that reduce the risk of future harm.
You will also undertake in-reach work within hospital settings, including A&E departments, as well as community outreach across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.

You will support the team to manage a busy working environment, welcoming and supporting a range of people including new Skylight members, current members, staff, Crisis volunteers and visitors. You will provide administrative support for this fast and responsive service to those newly presenting as homeless. You will also carry out administration and housekeeping functions relating to the customer service and facilities management of Cranston House. This role is based onsite with no option for homeworking.
About you
To be successful in this role you will be highly organised with experience of working within a reception or administrative support role, as well as experience providing a high standard of customer service. We are looking for someone who understands the issues faced by homeless people and is excited to learn about the ways we can support them. You will be able to deal with challenging situations and individuals with a range of needs, to reach a positive resolution through a calm and confident approach.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work successfully with disadvantaged or socially excluded groups and individuals. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written will be key, as well as working collaboratively within a team. As you will be the first point of contact for many people, you need to be friendly, enjoy helping and be willing to learn about Crisis and all the other activities taking place within the building.

We are recruiting a fixed-term Policy Campaigns Manager to lead our campaigns function at ARUK. The Policy Campaigns Manager will report to the Senior Public Affairs and Campaigns Manager and have line management responsibilities for the Policy Campaigns Officer.
In this role you will be joining a friendly and fast-moving Policy and Public Affairs team, during an exciting year for dementia research as we campaign on our core mission for a cure. You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to oversee our active campaigns and identify opportunities to mobilise our supporters and drive influence and impact for and with people affected by dementia.
You will lead the development of the campaigns function for ARUK, building on existing initiatives, championing best practice in campaigns and building our reach and engagement. You will also be responsible for working across a range of functions including our policy, research, communications, digital, brand and volunteering teams.

Key Responsibilities:
Deliver our live campaigns and marshal our campaigner base to advocate for change in dementia research and for people affected by dementia
· Work with colleagues across research, policy and public affairs teams to develop and deliver our campaigns that mobilise people affected by dementia and our supporters to influence decision makers and change policy and practice
· Work with the policy managers to ensure that our campaigns align with our strategic priorities and theories of change
