Open Up Music exists to open up music to young disabled people. We’re looking for an ambitious Head of Development to build the income and support that will help more young disabled musicians flourish.
We work alongside young disabled musicians to tackle inequality, develop accessible instruments, commission new music and reimagine music education and performance.
Our programmes include the National Open Youth Orchestra, the world’s first disabled-led national youth orchestra; Open Orchestras, the UK’s largest network of accessible school orchestras; and Clarion, a digital musical instrument that can be played using the movement of an eye, head or finger.
About the role
This is an opportunity to shape the next phase of fundraising at a nationally recognised charity with a strong record of turning ambitious ideas into high-impact programmes.
You will join us from a position of strength. We have already secured more than 70% of our contributed income target for the coming academic year, and our Board has committed strategic investment to growing our fundraising capacity.
You will inherit a successful trusts and foundations programme, supportive trustees, established digital and CRM systems, and an organisation-wide commitment to fundraising. In Salford, the programme will be delivered within Little Hulton.

This role forms part of Southwark’s commissioned Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) and Domestic Abuse (DA) service, delivered through a consortium partnership led by Bede.
The post holder will coordinate and deliver structured group-based interventions for children and young people affected by domestic abuse, alongside partnership working and service development. Service Development & Quality
The post holder will support the ongoing development and quality assurance of the programme, working within Bede’s systems and under the guidance of Bede managers and consortium partners.
Responsibilities will include:
· Using Bede’s monitoring, evaluation, and case management systems to record and report programme activity.
· Supporting service improvement through feedback, evaluation data, and performance monitoring.
· Assisting with the adaptation of materials to ensure relevance, accessibility, and inclusivity.
· Contributing to the identification of emerging needs and development of interventions, alongside managers.
· Supporting monitoring and reporting for commissioners and stakeholders.
· Maintaining professional standards in line with Bede policies and procedures.
Skills & Experience
• Experience working with young people affected by trauma or abuse.
• Experience of working within a multi-agency or partnership environment (desirable).
• Experience in planning and delivering group programmes.
• Ability to work independently, managing competing priorities and contribute to service coordination.
• Lived experience (desirable).
• The ability to manage challenging situations in a calm, professional manner.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge
• Understanding of domestic abuse and VAWG.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice.
• Understanding of wellbeing, consent, and relationships.
• Awareness of diverse community needs.
Qualifications
• Relevant qualification in Youth work, Counselling, Social care, Psychology or related discipline (desirable)
• Level 2/3 Children & Young People services/Youth Work or equivalent, appropriate lived experience
• Safeguarding training (essential or willingness to complete upon appointment).
• Additional specialist training in domestic abuse, trauma or therapeutic approaches (desirable).

Since 1447, we’ve provided almshouse accommodation to older people with a connection to Croydon who are negatively affected by poverty. For the past 40 years, we’ve also awarded grants to voluntary, community and faith sector organisations, and individuals across the Borough.

To help us deliver this, we’re recruiting an experienced Finance Assistant, who is a values-led team player, who demonstrates exceptional attention to detail to provide high-quality financial administrative support across the organisation and deliver its ambitious objectives.
Essential criteria:
· Experience of maintaining accurate financial records, including income, expenditure and reconciliations
· Experience of using accounting or finance software (preferably Xero)
· Experience and understanding of financial bookkeeping
· Experience facilitating monthly payroll
· Experience working to deadlines with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

The Belay Foundation supports adoptive, kinship and special guardianship families raising children who have experienced early developmental trauma, often alongside neurodiversity. Founded in 2020 from lived experience, Belay offers something many families struggle to find elsewhere: practical, in-home support and expert guidance that’s genuinely trauma-responsive, delivered by people who understand what these families are living through.

As we continue to grow our reach and impact, we're looking for an experienced Communications and Engagement Manager to help tell our story, strengthen our profile and build meaningful relationships with the families, partners and supporters who make our work possible.
Working closely with our Chief Executive Officer, you'll lead our communications, marketing and stakeholder engagement activity, helping more families discover our services while supporting fundraising, partnerships and organisational growth. You'll also play a key role in embedding lived experience across our communications and engagement, ensuring the voices of families remain at the heart of everything we do.
This is a home-based role for two days per week (0.4 FTE), offering flexibility alongside the opportunity to shape a growing national charity. There may be potential to increase the hours over time, subject to funding, making this an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to grow with the organisation. This is a home‑based role, but applicants must be permanently based, and have the right to work, in the United Kingdom.
