Job description

Impact & Evaluation Manager

We are seeking an experienced Impact & Evaluation Manager to help shape how a growing national charity measures its impact, learns from evidence and strengthens opportunities for children across the UK.

Salary: £41,200 FTE (£24,720 actual)
Location: Hybrid with remote working and at least one day a week in London (SE11)
Hours: Part time, 21 hours per week (3 days)
Contract: Permanent
Closing Date: Tuesday 11 August 2026

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead impact measurement and evaluation for a well-established national charity as it enters a new phase of growth.

You'll develop and refine evaluation frameworks and Theory of Change models, helping the organisation understand where it is making the greatest difference and how evidence can drive future decision making. Working closely with senior leaders and programme teams, you'll gather, analyse and interpret both qualitative and quantitative data, turning complex findings into practical recommendations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the organisation's impact and evaluation strategy
  • Designing and delivering research and evaluation projects
  • Developing meaningful frameworks to measure long-term outcomes
  • Producing reports and insights for senior leaders, trustees and funders
  • Supporting funding applications through robust evidence and impact data
  • Building an organisational culture where learning and evidence inform decision making
  • Working with internal systems and external partners to improve data collection and reporting
  • Ensuring research and data management complies with GDPR and safeguarding requirements

Occasional travel across the UK will be required.

About You

You'll have experience designing and delivering evaluation frameworks and using both qualitative and quantitative research methods to measure impact.

You'll also bring:

  • Experience applying Theory of Change and evaluation methodologies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to communicate complex information clearly to a range of audiences
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills
  • Experience influencing strategic decision making through evidence and insight
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills

Knowledge of the education, charity or social change sectors, experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems, and familiarity with longitudinal research would be advantageous.

About the Organisation

This national charity is committed to improving opportunities for children through high-quality educational programmes. Working collaboratively with schools, educators and communities, it is focused on creating lasting change through evidence-led practice, innovation and continuous learning. The organisation offers a flexible, supportive working environment with excellent professional development opportunities and a strong commitment to employee wellbeing.

Other roles you may have experience of could include: Impact Manager, Evaluation Manager, Research Manager, Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, Learning and Impact Manager, Evidence and Insights Manager, Research and Evaluation Manager, Performance and Insight Manager, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Manager, Data and Impact Manager.

Please note this role is being advertised by the recruitment agency on behalf of the hiring organisation.
