The EDI Officer role focuses on enhancing equity in health access and outcomes for all social groups within the local community, particularly in OUH palliative care services. The post holder will collaborate closely with palliative medicine colleagues to develop and lead projects aimed at improving EDI aspects across all Palliative Care departments.
This will be achieved by implementing the five-year EDI strategy plan, which supports hospice teams in integrating EDI considerations in all areas of care. Additionally, the role involves contributing to Trust-wide Health Inequalities initiatives through collaboration with the Trust’s EDI colleagues and Patient Experience Team and various internal and external stakeholders to meet EDI and health inequalities objectives.
What you'll do
· Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Oversee the implementation of the EDI Strategy for the Palliative Medicine Department to ensure services meet the needs of the diverse population in the catchment area.
· Service Planning and Development, Project Management: Take responsibility for the development and implementation of projects and service improvements with an EDI focus as agreed with line manager or Clinical Lead.
· Data Collection and Analysis: Review and analyse data on groups with protected characteristics and/or who may experience palliative care health inequalities within our catchment.
· Engagement: Identify and work to engage individuals and carers who are experiencing/are at risk of experiencing health inequalities in end of life and palliative care.

Be Free Campaign is a youth-led mental health charity dedicated to platforming the lived experiences of young people to destigmatise early and preventive mental health support seeking.
We work with young people across Merseyside and Manchester through schools, community spaces and events, reaching thousands of young people annually. Through our core 6 programmes, young people learn how to engage and connect with support to help them take control of their health and futures.
As the charity enters its 6th year, we are actively looking to engage with racialised and marginalised young people to understand the barriers they are facing in accessing support.
Role purpose
The Young People’s Equity and Inclusion Officer will work to improve how mental health support includes and serves racially and otherwise marginalised young people aged 11 to 25 in Liverpool. The role focuses on generating insight, co‑producing solutions, and supporting practical changes so that support is more culturally safe, accessible, and relevant.
This is a non‑clinical role centred on outcomes rather than casework. The post holder will coordinate engagement activity, gather and interpret learning, and work with partners to turn that learning into clear tools, pilots, and recommendations for change.

1. Insight and Engagement
Plan and deliver structured engagement with young people aged 11–25 to explore experiences of mental health, identity and access to support. Maintain accurate records of activity and emerging themes.
2. Equity and Inclusion Development
Identify patterns in barriers and gaps identified by young people. Translate learning into practical recommendations, tools and resources that strengthen equity and inclusion. Embed anti-racist and trauma-informed practice throughout all activity.
3. Partnership Coordination
Work with schools, community organisations and partners to host engagement activity and test improvement ideas. Agree clear roles and objectives for joint work. Share findings to support partners to strengthen their practice. Represent the organisation in local forums when required.
4. Pilots and Improvement Activity
Support the design and coordination of small-scale pilots based on youth insight. Gather feedback, refine approaches and document learning through clear improvement cycles.
5. Monitoring and Reporting
Track participation, demographics and agreed outcome measures. Contribute to analysis of qualitative and quantitative data. Support preparation of reports, summaries and presentations for internal and external audiences, including youth-friendly formats.
6. Safeguarding and Quality
Adhere to safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection policies. Respond appropriately to concerns and participate in supervision and training. Contribute to risk assessments and safe delivery across all settings.

Key Duties:

- Lead, develop and inspire a multi-disciplinary F2F team by fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, continuous improvement and supporter-centred behaviour.
- Work closely with insight teams to analyse performance data, supporter quality, attrition levels and long-term value across channels.

The position
AKF(UK) Partnerships Officers are part of the Global Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) Partnerships team tasked with identifying funding partnerships and strengthening existing ones to support our strategic goals. Partnerships Officers manage a set of grants across a variety of themes and geographies. They also support engagement with European and Asian bilaterals, multilaterals and foundations to secure funding for ten multi-sector not-for-profit and for-profit agencies of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) operating across Asia and Africa. This is all done in close collaboration with field units, global teams, and our partners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND CORE TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Grants Management
- Manage a portfolio of grants through regular interface and coordination with AKF(UK)’s partnerships team, AKF(UK)’s programme finance team and relevant AKF/AKDN field units/agencies acting as a central resource for field units in donor best practice.
- Interface with donors about the implementation of ongoing grants to ensure strong, enduring relationships.
- Coordinate, review, and assure the quality of donor deliverables (e.g. work plans, monitoring and evaluation plans, staffing plans, budgets, close-out plans, donor troubleshooting).
- Ensure adherence with donor requirements, rules, and regulations, and that grant deliverables are produced on time and to a high standard.
- Coordinate contractual amendments, changes, and project adaptations, engage with donors in a pro-active and diplomatic way, and flag potential changes (e.g. budget revisions, extensions, risks) in advance to ‘trouble shoot’ and ensure smooth project implementation.
- Facilitate grant monitoring efforts including routine coordination meetings and as needed, support with donor steering committees, donor project visits, and donor monitoring missions.
- Undertake coordination and administrative tasks related to grants and support the maintenance and update of grant management tools and tracking systems (e.g. Award Information Management System (AIMS)).
- Ensure strong relationship cultivation throughout the grants cycle, anticipate, and plan for future funding and project extensions.
Resource Mobilisation
- Coordinate and facilitate the development, review and quality assurance of expressions of interest, concept notes, and full proposals for funding opportunities.
- Liaise and coordinate with internal stakeholders as well as with donors, partners, and consortia to facilitate project design, align proposal and donor requirements, gather required legal and administrative documentation, and draft sections of proposals as needed.
Coordinate processes of contracting and negotiation, engaging relevant stakeholders, and ensuring contracts ‘get over the line’ in a timely and efficient way.
- Conduct due diligence of new partners (donors, NGOs, universities, etc.) in coordination with AKF(UK)’s programme finance team and AKF’s global programmes team.
- Develop and contribute to positioning pieces and communication materials (e.g., presentations, narrative overviews) to enable regular and effective engagement with donors.
- Research, scan and source relevant information regarding new donors and funding opportunities to identify potential funding matches and gather intelligence around European and Asian donors.
- Update donor profiles, researching and summarising latest donor strategies and using AIMS to update AKF/AKDN funding summaries.
- Contribute to management systems, such as AIMS.
Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Senior Partnerships Manager, Deputy Regional Directors or Global Deputy Director for Institutional Partnerships.
