Role Overview:  

The Events Operations and Venues Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of Events-run venues and the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality event environments across multiple parks, community venues and outdoor event sites. The role supports the overall event management function while managing part of the Venues Team and ensuring operational excellence across all spaces. 

This position leads on operational logistics, facilities management and on-site delivery, ensuring venues are compliant, well-presented and fully prepared to support a diverse programme of events. The role is highly hands-on, requiring strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to problem-solve quickly in fast-paced live environments. 

Main Duties/Responsibilities:   

Team & workforce management 

• Line manage Duty Managers and oversee the wider casual workforce including Event Assistants, Security, Caretakers and Cleaners. 
• Lead Recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training of casual staff 
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels and skill mix across all events and venues taking responsibility for the rota system 
• Ensure effective coordination of rotas and cross-team event activity.  

 Venue Operations & Facilities Management 

• Lead the day-to-day operational management of all Events-run venues. 
• Ensure venues are compliant, safe, well-presented and fit for purpose. 
• Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance with central operations teams. 
• Oversee venue equipment procurement and asset management. 
• Manage venue contractors and oversea repair works in Event spaces. 
• Contribute to twice-yearly Council H&S audits. 

 On-Site Delivery 

• Support the Head of Events and Production Team in delivering Enable-Produced Events 
• Provide hands-on operational leadership during live events. 
• Deliver full event management of ad hoc or operationally complex events where required. 

 Health & Safety  

• Lead on Health & Safety across Events and Venues operations. 
• Own and continuously improve operational H&S frameworks, policies and safe systems of work. 
• Work alongside the Operations team to ensure venue Risk Assessments are robust and up to date and operationally effective for event spaces 
• Oversee contractor compliance including RAMS, insurance and method statements. 
• Quality assure weekly, monthly and event-specific H&S inspections. 
• Contribute to audits, investigations and incident reviews. 
• Embed a proactive safety culture across the Events Team. 
• Represent the Events Team on operational and Health & Safety matters, coordinating with central Operations and Council stakeholders as required. 
• Provide assurance reporting to senior management as required.

Financial & Commercial Oversight 

• Manage operational budgets and monitor expenditure. 
• Update and reconcile supplier costs and credit card logs. 
• Seeking quotes for goods and services in line with Enable’s Procurement Code, and raising purchase orders as required 
• Assist with contractor invoice processing and ensure timely follow-up where required. 
• Contribute to budget forecasting and cost control. 
• Ensuring all timesheets for casual staff are accurate and processed on time 
• Managing supplier performance against SLA’s, monitoring cost control and value for money 
• Carrying out other duties/ projects as directed by the Head of Events

The Gurkha Welfare Trust provides vital support to Gurkha veterans, their families and communities in Nepal. We have been working in Nepal for over 50 years, delivering essential financial and medical aid to Gurkha veterans and widows, and working with local communities to provide access to clean water and education. This role’s primary responsibilities will be as follows:

 1. Develop and implement the Trust’s Individual Giving acquisition strategy across regular giving, one‑off donors, mid‑value supporters, and legacy pledgers, in collaboration with the Head of Fundraising & Communications.

2. Lead the planning and management of the annual acquisition budget, ensuring income and expenditure forecasts are accurate and regularly monitored.

3. Deliver integrated, supporter‑focused campaigns across direct mail, TV, door‑drop, inserts, press, telephone fundraising, and digital channels, ensuring activity meets agreed targets, deadlines, and quality standards.

4. Work with the Database Manager and external partners to ensure accurate data selection, segmentation, and fulfilment for all campaigns.

5. Monitor donor behaviour and key performance indicators, including attrition, response rates, and ROI, and develop strategies to enhance retention and reactivate lapsed supporters.

6. Collaborate with creative and fundraising agencies to test, refine, and optimise campaign content, propositions, and targeting.

7. Ensure the highest standard of donor care, working closely with the Individual Giving (Stewardship & Retention) Manager, Database Manager, and fulfilment providers to deliver a consistent and positive supporter experience.

8. Strengthen the regular‑giving acquisition proposition, identifying growth opportunities and mitigating donor attrition.

9. Maximise Gift Aid income by ensuring all acquisition activity includes appropriate prompts and compliance measures.

Support legacy marketing activity in partnership with the Legacy Administration team.

The Role

SMART CJS is looking to recruit a Trusts and Foundations Bid Writer. The successful candidate will also have some responsibility for corporate fundraising with businesses based in Bedford and beyond; this responsibility will be shared with our Community and Corporate Fundraiser.

The main responsibility, though, will be to generate income by writing bids to charitable trusts and foundations, and to statutory funders.

The role will include researching and identifying charity trusts and similar bodies which are able to make an award to SMART. It will also include keeping abreast of developments in fundraising in the charity sector as a whole, especially in the field of grant awarding and, to a lesser extent, of corporate giving.

There will be a probationary period for the role. As it generally takes six months for a grant to be awarded (though some arrive more quickly), the probationary period will need to be for a minimum of seven months, though its precise duration can be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Training will be given; the scope of the training will depend on the candidate’s previous experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to join SMART’s friendly and dedicated team. You’ll need to be able to manage your time effectively; the role is primarily self-directed. We envisage that you’ll be working primarily from our offices in Prebend Street, Bedford, though you'll be able to work from home for some of the time as well. Given the nature of our work, personal resilience is important; some of the stories we use when applying for funding can be emotionally challenging.

Our fundraising comes from regular gifts, donations from the community (individuals and groups), and corporate bodies (businesses). The majority of our fundraising income comes from grants. There will be a realistic target for the amount you need to raise; this will reflect the performance for grant applications in the charity sector as a whole and it will not be unrealistic. Fundraising is not an exact science; the assessment of performance against the targets will be fair and reasonable. The final responsibility for SMART’s fundraising rests with the trustees; they appreciate and understand the complexity of the issues involved.

Main Purpose of the Role

You will work closely with the CEO, the Chair of Trustees, the Head of Business and the fundraising team. The post involves gathering information, writing the bids, tracking the progress of submissions, and reporting back to grant awarders on how their money has been spent, if they require this.

There will also be a responsibility for corporate fundraising. This will involve building relationships with businesses in and beyond the Bedford area. The responsibility for this will be shared with our Community and Corporate Fundraiser.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising and Bid Writing

• Research and identify suitable grant and funding opportunities from charitable trusts, foundations, and statutory bodies.
• Write and submit high-quality funding applications and proposals in line with SMART’s strategic priorities.
• Work collaboratively with service leads and front line teams to gather accurate, up-to-date data and service information for applications.
• Tailor the applications to the funder’s criteria, using storytelling effectively.
• Manage a pipeline of applications and submissions, ensuring deadlines are met and income targets are tracked.
• Maintain and build relationships with key funders, providing timely reports and updates on grant-funded work.
• Work to realistic targets and be able to provide feedback on these.
• Organisational Development and Support
• Contribute to the strategic development of SMART’s income generation plans.
• Support development of strong internal bid and grant management systems.

Other Responsibilities

Person Specification

Whether you’re already an experienced bid-writer, or whether you think this is something that you could learn to do effectively, we’d like to hear from you. You need to have excellent skills in written English and be able to write in prose that’s clear and readily understandable to the general reader. The criteria for each grant awarder are different; you need to be able to match your bid to what they would like to fund (homelessness, mental health, relief of poverty, women’s issues and so on). You need, then, to tell SMART’s story in a way which appeals to each funder.

You need to have excellent inter-personal skills and be able to work as part of a team. While there is a strong element of self-direction in the role, you need to be able to work closely with senior management and also with the trustees; the trustees have the final responsibility for fundraising in the charity.

You will need, too, to have a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and to have a genuine interest in homelessness and the work of the charity, and a commitment to improving our clients’ lives and wellbeing.

At Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, we’re going big on charity retail. We already have thirteen shops located throughout our region having opened 4 new shops in 2025 (Whiteladies Road (Bristol), Brockworth, Portishead and most recently Dursley). We plan to open up to eight shops a year over the next three years, giving our charity a physical presence in the heart of communities we have served since 2007.

The shops will sell a variety of goods, as well as being a hub for our charity activity locally. Our shops need to perform well financially to help fund our lifesaving service, but we also want them to be a place where everyone feels welcome, the local community can learn life-saving skills and former patients or supporters can pop in for a chat.

About the Role

This is a key interim leadership role focused on stability, continuity and care for Sahir during a period of transition.

The Interim Chief Executive will work closely with the Board, staff and partners to ensure Sahir continues to deliver safe, effective and person-centred services, maintains strong relationships and remains financially and operationally secure.

The role is not about changing direction. It is about protecting what has been built, supporting the team and helping Sahir move confidently towards the appointment of its next permanent CEO.

Introduction

The National House Project (NHP) supports Local Authorities to work with young people to give them the knowledge, skills and confidence to live connected and fulfilling lives. By developing a community of support, completing the House Project Programme and being able to make their house a home young people can look forward to a positive future.

Purpose of the Role 

Reporting to the Director of Partnerships, this newly created role offers the chance to support the delivery of our new Fundraising and Partnership Strategy (2025–2029) by helping to grow our community of supporters, increase individual digital giving and deepen engagement with corporate partners. We also welcome your ideas and experience in developing how we might approach digital fundraising.
 
Working closely with the Director of Partnerships, this role will lead on community fundraising development and provide hands-on coordination of partnership activities, from employee volunteering and group sessions to corporate fundraising events and payroll giving. The role will also contribute to communications and marketing content.

Key Responsibilities 

Corporate Partnerships and Engagement 

• Support the Director of Partnerships in managing and delivering high-quality partnership activities, including: 

• Organising employee volunteering sessions – including mapping / tracking volunteer hours and activities (where possible) 

• Organising and supporting group visits, insight events, and work experience placements (as needed) 

• Work closely with NHP colleagues, Local House Project staff and partners to develop impactful partnership activities 

• Fundraising activities and events organised by corporate partners 

• Liaise with LHPs to coordinate partnership activity across different regions. 

• Maintain accurate partnership records and activity tracking in NHP’s CRM. 

Communications and Collaboration 

• Work closely with the Business Support Administrator and Admin Team to create and share communications and marketing materials that promote partnership activities, volunteering, and fundraising opportunities. 

• Support the preparation of partnership updates, impact stories, and social media content. 

• Contribute to internal communications about partnership successes and learning. 

• Support the rest of the NHP team from time to time, as required.

Community Fundraising, Individual Giving and Supporter Engagement 

• Plan, deliver and evaluate a calendar of community fundraising activities and events (third party) to build NHP’s supporter base, ensuring income and engagement targets are met. (We plan to have 2 community fundraising events a year, and support those our corporate partners organise).

• Recruit, brief and support challenge event participants, fundraisers and corporate teams undertaking community activities.

• Develop toolkits and resources to empower supporters (fundraising packs, JustGiving Guides and risk assessments) 

• Support the Business Support Administrator to manage the stock, ordering and distribution of fundraising materials to ensure event participants are equipped and engaged. 

• Support the Director of Partnerships to lead the event logistics (registrations, supplier liaison, risk assessments, volunteer coordination, on the day delivery and post event follow up) 

• Provide guidance, resources, and encouragement to individuals and groups fundraising on behalf of NHP. 

• Support the development of our long-term individual goals (one-off donations and regular giving via our website) 

• Coordinate fundraising communications, updates, and impact stories to strengthen donor engagement and retention. 

• Track and evaluate community fundraising and individual giving performance and supporter feedback. 

• Maintain accurate CRM records of donor giving/community fundraising 

• Support with sharing best practice and resources that enable local teams to engage effectively with partners and supporters

Are you passionate about supporting families with the guidance and support their need to live within the community and thrive as a family? We are recruiting for a Therapeutic Worker to join our specialist Family Residential Service in Sheffield. The service provides drug and alcohol recovery support for parents and their children in a residential setting.

The Role

Your role in our therapeutic community will be key. You’ll manage a caseload, assess the people who use our service and manage their care plans. It will mean developing and applying a range of therapeutic approaches to meet their individual needs, whether that’s employment, education, health, or their ability to interact socially. You’ll be the one who sees that everything is coordinated from the moment they’re referred to us to the time that they leave.

As a Therapeutic Worker, you will support individuals accessing the residential rehabilitation programme to achieve outcomes that help create long-term recovery. Using the Therapeutic Community “community as method” model you will empower individuals, families and communities to be confident about recovery.

You will support the day to day running of the therapeutic community, ensuring service user needs are met and the best possible care is provided in an environment that promotes a culture of recovery in line with a recovery orientated system of care and the Quality Principles. Managing a service user case load, providing end-to-end care co-ordination from admission to discharge planning ensuring care plans meet the needs of both service users and stakeholders. Whilst also being confident to deliver therapeutic groups, activities, and specialised interventions in accordance with the TC manual and the needs of the service. 

Previous experience is desirable, however not essential. Support Workers come from many different backgrounds and experiences, and you may have the skills required. We are seeking dedicated individuals, based on your values, willingness to learn new skills and the compassion to deliver the best service possible to our residents.

This is a full-time role, working an average of 37.5 hours per week. You will be expected to work a 6-week rolling rota which includes evening and weekend working.

About You

You will need: 

• An understanding of the complex issues presented by individuals within drug and alcohol recovery.
• Experience of working with families, and individuals in the substance use sector or related field.
• The ability to be innovative and be flexible in order to meet the needs of the service. 
• Be able to work effectively with multi-agencies, whilst maintaining the excellent reputation of the service. 
• Knowledge of adult and child protection and safeguarding essential as you will be working with vulnerable families in a residential setting.

The Delivery Manager leads a team of Switchback Mentors who work within prisons and the community, ensuring they have the support, systems, and processes in place to deliver the Switchback programme effectively and maximise the impact for Trainees.

This is an opportunity for someone who is a strong team leader within the charity / non-profit sector, with experience of applying audience insight to strategies and plans. The successful candidate will bring primarily individual giving experience, and substantial experience of integrated marketing, campaigning or audience engagement as well as experience of digital and data-driven marketing to increase engagement and income.
