You hold a critical and integral role for the growth and development of the DEC’s website and digital marketing, taking an audience and insight led approach to innovation and supporter engagement. The role builds on various workstreams, projects and innovation processes that have been developed in recent years.

You will be digitally astute with expertise in paid media and digital product development, and a confident communicator, who project manages with ease and leads and engages with diverse internal & external stakeholders to develop an effective, responsive and agile approach to fundraising and supporter engagement in the digital environment. You must have demonstrable knowledge of UX principles and tools, a working knowledge of Drupal (or equivalent CMS), HTML and CSS, and excellent knowledge of digital analytics, particularly Google Analytics and social platform analytics.

Digital Fundraising: Manage paid search, social media, programmatic advertising, and evergreen campaigns; optimise performance and ROI.

Innovation & Strategy: Develop new digital tools, lead AI strategy group, drive product development from ideation to MVP, and foster a culture of innovation.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate across teams, manage external agencies, and lead digital collaboration with member charities.

Financial & Risk Management: Oversee £100k+ budgets, ensure compliance, report on performance, and mitigate digital risks.

Digital & Innovation Strategy and ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards, maintaining best practices in equality and accessibility.  Design and deliver programmes that build awareness and capability around inclusive behaviours.

Data & trends: Monitor, analyse, and report on D&I metrics to measure progress and inform future actions. Stay ahead of trends, lead new initiatives, and represent the organisation in external forums to promote our commitment to inclusion.

Key responsibilities

Content development and management

• Lead the production of key content pieces at ETP, including our annual report, regular updates to members and stakeholders, and innovative programme impact stories.
• Own and manage the communications content calendar, ensuring creativity and alignment with organisational goals.
• Own programmatic communications, collaborating with internal teams to produce communication toolkits on our range of programmes for members, incorporating feedback to meet members’ needs effectively.
• Collaborate with members and partners to ensure communications align with their needs and priorities – on both programmes and day-to-day communications.

Digital ownership

• Develop and implement ETP’s social media strategy, ensuring consistent, engaging, and impactful output.
• Oversee all social media activity, driving engagement and growing ETP’s digital presence across LinkedIn and X.
• Develop and share regular posts from the ETP CEO and sample posts for team members for key initiatives.
• Own website content, regularly updating the site with new information, from new joiners to news articles and programme updates.

Showcasing impact

• Create content that showcases ETP’s impact at both programmatic and sectoral levels, using innovative and striking approaches.
• Work with the Monitoring & Evaluation Lead to update the Global Impact Framework, ensuring our website data is up to date and effectively communicating impact across the ETP portfolio.

Design

• Use existing Adobe’s InDesign and Canva templates to produce a range of ETP branded assets including donor reports, event materials such as standees and backdrops etc.

Media relations

• Work with the Head of Communications & Membership to respond to media inquiries and support crisis communication efforts as needed.
• Research and create compelling media content, including proactive and reactive press releases.
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets to amplify ETP’s message.

Experience and skills required

Essential

• Exceptional writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling and persuasive content.
• Experience in developing creative and disruptive (yet constructive) content strategies.
• Strong social media strategy and management experience.
• Experience in media relations, including crafting press releases and managing media inquiries.

Purpose of the Job

Capital fundraising experience and knowledge will be key too, with the postholder able to demonstrate a track record of telling compelling stories to captivate donors for revenue and capital fundraising asks.  You will have a proven track record of significant fundraising across a variety of sources and will ideally have experience of creating and implementing ambitious and credible fundraising strategies and delivery plans.

This is a totally different role where you will use your professional knowledge, skills and experience, working with the physiotherapy workforce and other stakeholders across the UK to improve and transform practice and service delivery. You will work with colleagues across the CSP to develop resources and approaches that will facilitate and empower members to demonstrate the impact and value of physiotherapy to the populations they serve.

This role has both national and regional responsibilities. You will play a key role in the progression and delivery of innovative national projects and lead specific areas of work related to our strategic objectives, with an emphasis on activities from a Northern Irish perspective. In collaboration with national stakeholders, you will play an active role in identifying and influencing developing policy, looking for opportunities to enhance service provision and improve patient outcomes and experience through better provision of physiotherapy.

The CSP has a network of regional and country teams across the UK to support our members wherever they live, work or study.  You will join a country multi-disciplinary team with CSP colleagues from policy, communications and the trade union to develop robust networks and engage members. This role therefore requires excellent communication, influencing and networking skills to enable members to understand, evidence and articulate the value and impact of physiotherapy to influence local decision-making.

It doesn’t stop there. You will be part of a team of professional advisers who provide peer support and a professional advice service to CSP members.   • Our Funders Collective events that bring funders together to exchange ideas and explore how funding can drive deeper impact.

• Provide on-hand support to ensure events run smoothly.
• Manage the communications calendar and make sure social media posts are drafted and reviewed on time.

Programmes

• Assist with the smooth delivery of our funding rounds, e.g. updating our CRM (Salesforce), sharing updates with our team of consultants, reviewing feedback provided to grant applicants, coordinating with our Finance Team on grant payments.
• Help the Programme Team with the management of our peer learning and workshops programme, giving charities the skills they need to thrive.

Organisation-wide support

• Maintain accurate records and ensure our database and task management tools are kept up to date to help the team stay organised.
• Provide flexible administrative support to The Fore team across all areas of work and other projects as required.

The community partnerships role will focus on organisations within communities across the country, where as the new business role will deliver new partnerships with corporate businesses.

As a Partnerships Officer you will build long lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with organisations that align with Stroke Associations values and mission.

The role will focus on developing new strategic partnerships and stewarding existing relationships. The main responsibilities will include:

The Person

About the role

We are the UK’s largest independent non-profit investigative newsroom. Our reporting is published by media partners around the world and holds power to account across five areas: environment, health, big tech, dirty money and local power.

This role will manage 2–3 of our editorial teams, providing strategic fundraising support to help them deliver journalism that drives real-world change. While the exact portfolio will be confirmed with the successful candidate, the role will initially support 2-3 of our core teams and may also contribute to work on emerging issues such as mis- and disinformation and its impact on UK communities.

Our teams include:

• Bureau Local: Works with communities across the UK to uncover hidden stories and drive accountability. Recent work includes exposing the exploitation of migrant workers, running a community-led investigation shaped by the Trans+ community, and bringing vital transparency to the family courts through reporting and mentoring.

• Enablers: Investigates the lawyers, accountants and financial structures that enable corruption and allow illicit finance to flow through the UK. Their reporting has prompted major regulatory investigations and scrutiny.

• Big Tech: Scrutinises the power and influence of major technology companies, examining issues such as moderator working conditions, surveillance, algorithmic harms, digital rights and the impact of AI on society. Their reporting has informed safety measures, supported litigation, and strengthened public understanding of how tech shapes our lives.

• Environment: Investigates the environmental and human impacts of resource extraction, climate finance and the actions of powerful corporations. Their reporting has contributed to changes in corporate practices and prompted customers to take action - including leaving their banks.

• Global Health: Examines the systems that shape access to healthcare, the safety and quality of medicines, and the influence of corporate and political interests on global health outcomes. The team has briefed the WHO and medical practitioners, ensuring their findings inform policy and frontline practice.

Our fundraising

The Bureau is almost entirely funded through grants and donations – without our supporters, we couldn’t do what we do. Over recent years, we’ve grown to a team of 35 people with an annual income of £2.8m, backed by a committed network of trusts, foundations, and individuals.

This is an exciting time to join our fundraising team as we build on those strong relationships and explore new ways to diversify our income.

Responsibilities

• Work with project leads to develop their ideas into a strong case for support, translating complex issues into powerful, accessible narratives for funders.

• Manage relationships with existing funders, ensuring timely reporting, effective stewardship and continued support.

• Research and develop a pipeline of new prospects.

• Write compelling proposals and applications to secure new grants.

• Collaborate with our other Fundraising Manager, who leads on the remaining themes, and provide support in those areas when needed.

• Support the Bureau in identifying ways to diversify our income, such as helping to grow our major donor programme.

• Work closely with colleagues across the Bureau - from reporters and impact producers to operations and finance – and play an active part in maintaining a collaborative, supportive workplace culture.

• Pitch in on a range of fundraising tasks, big and small, to keep the Bureau in the best position to deliver its journalism.

Skills and experience

About Us

Freeways and Freeways Trust are linked local charities that supports adults with learning disabilities.

Freeways is a highly regarded provider offering a range of social care support services and Freeways Trust owns and manages a portfolio of properties which support the work of Freeways. Both charities are passionate about helping people to become as independent as possible by supporting them to make choices, learn new skills, and make links with their local community.

We provide support for up to 115 people across North Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire in accommodation based services and also individuals in their own homes and a small number of respite placements in South Gloucestershire.

We also run other types of services including community day services, building based day services, hydrotherapy and warm water sessions in our own hydrotherapy pool, support to become self-employed or look for employment, and support living.

The Role

Freeways is looking to recruit a Head of Finance who will   manage a small finance team.

This role is responsible for preparing the monthly management accounts and associated report for both charities: providing high quality financial insight, analysis and advice to support informed decision making.

The Head of Finance is also responsible for ensuring the efficiency, accuracy and compliance of the day-to-day financial activities (including accounts payable, accounts receivable and cashbooks) for both Freeways and Freeways Trust.

This includes responsibility for the integrity and ongoing development of the accounting and payroll systems, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner to enable the production of accurate financial information for the management of both charities. 

You will also deputise and work closely with the Finance Director playing a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of both Freeways and Freeways Trust, responsible for advising on financial strategies that align with the charities’ objectives.

About you

To succeed in this role you will:

• Be a qualified accountant with substantial financial and management accounting experience.
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrable experience of leading and engaging with finance and other corporate functions to develop a mature and rounded service.
•  Have an excellent understanding of financial and management accounting processes, financial reporting and audit planning as well as being adept at managing both your own and your team’s priorities.
