About the role:
For women facing multiple disadvantage, the right support can be the difference between remaining trapped by systems and beginning to rebuild safety, choice and control. As our Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker at Grace House, you’ll provide skilled, persistent and compassionate support to women whose experiences may include homelessness, domestic abuse, trauma, substance use, poor mental health and contact with the criminal justice system.
Using a gender and trauma-informed approach, you’ll build trusting relationships and work alongside women at their own pace. You’ll manage complex casework, advocate firmly on their behalf and help navigate services and systems that can often feel fragmented or difficult to access. You’ll use creativity, professional judgement and tenacity to challenge barriers and help women move forward on their own terms.
You’ll also bring your expertise into multi-agency discussions, ensuring women’s voices, experiences and priorities remain central to the decisions made about their support. Working closely with colleagues and external partners, you’ll help shape responsive, coordinated support and contribute to the continued development of practice across Grace House.
This is an opportunity to deepen your specialist skills, take real ownership of your work and make a visible difference in women’s lives. You’ll be supported by an experienced team, reflective practice and ongoing learning and development at Single Homeless Project (SHP), giving you the tools and confidence to grow while delivering support that genuinely changes lives.
*For genuine occupational requirement reasons, we are seeking applications from women only for this post (exemption under the Equality Act 2010; Schedule 9 Part 1).

About us:
We’re London’s leading homelessness charity – and we get things done.
In a city where hundreds are forced into homelessness every day, our work has never been more needed or more challenging. And we’re not shying away. We’re rolling up our sleeves to make change and helping over 10,000 Londoners every year. We prevent homelessness, provide safe places to live and give people the opportunity to rebuild their lives and transform their futures. And we never give up.
We’re here for Londoners wherever they are on their journey. We start with trust, building relationships that help people feel safe, supported, and ready to move forward. Inspired by boxing legend Mick Carney, the charity was founded in his name after his passing in 2011, building on work led by our co-founders. We aim to create a “virtuous cycle”: while support is free of charge, we ask that when young people are ready, they channel the positivity they have received into others. As a result, many go on to volunteer, mentor, join our staff team or even set up their own community initiatives. Former participants make up the majority of our workforce. They provide the most authentic role models, people who genuinely understand the challenges our young people face and who show what is possible. For our young people we strive for equality and aim to: Improve Physical and Mental Health; Improve Education, Skills and Employability; Improve Community Engagement; Reduce Offending and Reoffending.

You will be supported to attend training within your working time and given the support you need to successfully complete your qualification and develop your specialist practice.
This is a huge opportunity to join an experienced, ambitious and dynamic team, develop a career in specialist sexual violence advocacy, and become part of an organisation delivering critical services to survivors across Lincolnshire.
If you want a role where your work matters, where you can keep developing, and where you have the opportunity to create meaningful change for survivors, we would love to hear from you.

As an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA), you will provide specialist, trauma-informed and survivor-centred advocacy to survivors across Lincolnshire. You will support individuals whether or not they choose to report to the police, helping them understand their rights and options, access appropriate services and make informed decisions about their support.
For clients who choose to report, you will help them navigate every stage of the criminal justice process, from making an initial report and progressing through a police investigation to decisions made by the Crown Prosecution Service and any subsequent court proceedings. You will explain complex processes in a clear and accessible way, provide regular updates, liaise with criminal justice agencies, support clients to prepare for court and attend court with them where required.
You will provide consistent, independent advocacy throughout each client’s journey, ensuring their voice, choices and wellbeing remain central. You will be able to communicate sensitively with people who may be distressed, overwhelmed or experiencing significant uncertainty, while also engaging confidently and professionally with a wide range of agencies.
You will be resilient, highly organised and able to manage a demanding caseload without losing sight of the individual person behind each case. You will demonstrate sound professional judgement, strong boundaries and the ability to remain calm, responsive and solution-focused in complex situations.
We are particularly interested in applicants who:
Experience of advocacy, casework or supporting people within health, social care, criminal justice, safeguarding or the voluntary sector would be advantageous. We invest in our staff through specialist training, structured supervision, reflective practice and opportunities to develop within an expanding range of services.
Our work is challenging, purposeful and genuinely life-changing. We are looking for people who want to bring their skills, energy and ideas to an organisation that is ambitious for its clients, its staff and the communities it serves.
We offer trauma informed therapeutic and advocacy support to anyone who has experienced any form of sexual violence at any point in their life.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
