About KLS’ Future Foundations education team 

Future Foundations is an education programme of Katherine Low Settlement. Since 2004, KLS’ Future Foundations education team of 10 part-time staff and over 100 volunteers, have supported young refugees and their families in Battersea and the London Borough of Wandsworth to thrive in their education. Through mentoring, family support, casework and homework clubs, we provide the tailored support each young person and their family (if they have one) needs to overcome the barriers to education they face at home and school. 

Key Objectives for this Role 

Working closely with the Lead Youth Worker and Youth Worker you will help create safe, engaging and inclusive opportunities for children and young people to learn, build confidence and develop positive relationships. 

Homework Clubs 

• Support the running and planning of two weekly homework clubs for children age 5 - 14.

• Contribute to the development of engaging session plans and learning activities. 

• Research and source resources and materials to support activities and learning.

• Support to plan and run engaging and fun activities/ongoing projects for children attending the clubs.

• Use participatory approaches to ensure young people help shape activities and programme development.

• Encourage children and young people to take ownership of activities and contribute to decision-making within the clubs Implement our behaviour management policy and work from a trauma informed perspective. 

• Support the registration and onboarding of new participants, ensuring records and consent information are accurate and up to date Liaise with families/carers when necessary. 

• Maintain accurate records, registers, case studies, feedback, photographs and other monitoring information in line with organisational requirements and funding obligations.

• Maintain excellent safeguarding practices. 

• Support the wider Future Foundations team to identify support needs and make referrals to appropriate external services and partner organisations.

• Provide cover for youth, mentoring and homework club sessions when required.

Trips and activities  

• Support the planning and delivery of an annual programme of educational, recreational and enrichment activities, including trips during school holidays.

• Ensure that this is done in collaboration with children, young people, their families and other KLS projects. 

• Assist with the summer programme development, organisation and delivery.

Teamwork and reporting 

• Work with Future Foundations team members to coordinate work, refer young people and/or parents/carers to our casework and advice team. 

• Work with Community Learning Coordinator to refer and encourage parent participation in workshops and other activities at KLS. 

• Contribute information, case studies and impact data for reports to funders, trustees and other stakeholders.

• Communicate well with other teams within KLS to provide a high-quality service to our members

Essential

• Experience of working with refugee communities and/or children/young people and/or vulnerable groups ensuring that clients’ needs are at the forefront of service planning and delivery
• Experience of planning, delivery and reporting in a similar voluntary sector project (preferably with refugee communities) 
• Excellent communicating skills (oral and written) with refugee young people, their families, staff and partner organisations

About the role 

The Administrative Assistant plays a key role in supporting the effective delivery of services,  projects, events and member communications across the organisation. Working closely with the  Head of Services and colleagues across teams, the postholder will provide high-quality  administrative, project and operational support, helping to ensure services run efficiently and  members receive excellent support and communication. 

This is a varied role requiring excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, strong  communication abilities and the capacity to manage multiple priorities. 

Key Responsibilities 

Services Administration 

• Provide administrative support for the planning, delivery and evaluation of webinars and  online events.

• Support the production and distribution of Fragile Links, including content coordination,  proofreading, scheduling and publication processes. 

• Assist the Head of Services with the administration and project management of  conferences, events and service-related projects. 

• Maintain accurate project records, databases and documentation. 

• Updating information on the website when requested 

• Maintaining records and information on research requests 

Project Administration 

• Provide administrative support for partnership projects 

• Maintain accurate participant and project records in line with data protection  requirements. 

• Coordinate member communications relating to projects and programmes.

• Monitor participation, gather feedback and support project reporting. 

Membership and Member Support 

• Support colleagues with membership communications and messaging when required. • Assist with member enquiries and administrative requests. 

• Ensure member records are maintained accurately and confidentially. 

Volunteering and support groups

• Support the Head of Services managing volunteer requests and meetings

• Run induction meetings for new volunteers

• Manage and promote the support group meetings across the platforms

Cross-Team Administration and Support 

• Provide customer service support for the online shop, including responding to customer  enquiries and assisting with product updates. 

• Contribute to organisation-wide projects and initiatives as required.

• Support fundraising administration tasks 

General Responsibilities

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We have embarked on our 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it.

We are now recruiting the team that will deliver Crisis at Christmas 2026. This unique project mobilises a huge volunteering effort to provide warmth, companionship and vital services in temporary centres across London to people facing homelessness.

Contract: Fixed Term Contact – starting 9 September 2026 until 31 January 2027

Hours: 35 hours per week (some rota’d working to cover weekends and bank holidays over Christmas period)

About the role

Project Assistants play a key role in delivering a range of services that ensure our guests have a safe and happy Christmas.  From healthcare and catering to advice and wellbeing services such as arts and crafts and salon, our services can make a real difference. You will support with the recruitment and management of Crisis at Christmas volunteers and external partners to help deliver services, ensuring teams have all the information and equipment they need. This is a varied role including processing volunteer applications, creating comms materials, managing and communicating schedules, organising training, organising and setting up kit, ensuring our teams of specialists have the equipment and materials they need as well as getting stuck in and helping out directly once our centres open. 

This is great role to kickstart your career in the charity sector, as well as in project management or events roles.

To be successful in this role you will have…

· Experience of providing administrative support and general office duties in a busy events or project-based environment

· Excellent spoken and written skills to communicate effectively and confidently with a wide range of audiences

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Volunteer Recruitment & Onboarding

• Lead end-to-end recruitment and onboarding of volunteers across all Hospice roles, including clinical, wellbeing, family support, retail, fundraising, finance, facilities and administrative roles.
• Deliver a high-quality, seamless onboarding experience for volunteer applicants.
• Co-deliver monthly Introduction to Volunteering sessions, including follow-up engagement.
• Maintain effective recruitment pipelines to meet service needs.
• Support with recruitment campaigns for high priority volunteering roles.

Compliance & Governance

• Oversee volunteer compliance, ensuring volunteers, where required:
  • Have satisfactory references
  • Are DBS-checked
  • Complete and refresh mandatory training, including face-to-face safeguarding and relevant onboarding training via departments
• Maintain accurate compliance records within CRM systems.
• Monitor and report on DBS and safeguarding renewals, liaising with volunteers, team leaders and the education team.

Volunteer Operations & Service Delivery

• Provide front line guidance and advice on volunteer involvement and best practice to volunteer involving teams.

• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the volunteer lifecycle and provide guidance and support to managers in planning volunteer requirements, recruitment, onboarding, induction, training, ongoing supervision, recognition, development, issue resolution, and volunteer exit processes.
• Part of the People Team office cover answering telephone, email and in person queries or directing the enquiry to the right place to be resolved. This includes monitoring the volunteering and volunteer reference and volunteer rota inboxes.
• Arrange regular meetings with Hospice volunteer managers to:
  • Review volunteer pipelines and activity
  • Analyse data and service needs
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration and service improvement
• Be a main point of contact for volunteers in key operational roles (e.g. IPU Kitchen, Meet & Greet), including recruitment, onboarding, supervision, and ongoing support

• Organise IPU volunteer rota planning and management (forward planning and weekly), ensuring adequate cover and resolving last-minute gaps, arranging shadow shifts and organising mentor allocation.
• Manage and organise tasks for admin volunteers within the Voluntary Services team.

Volunteer Engagement & Experience

• Support with the planning and delivery of an annual programme of volunteer engagement events (e.g. Sunday lunches, feedback forums, seasonal events): Coordinate event logistics including communications, RSVPs, venues, catering and health & safety.
• Actively gather, review and respond to volunteer feedback to continuously improve the volunteer experience.
• Coordinate and support volunteer communications across the organisation, including the production and distribution of the monthly volunteer bulletin and volunteer updates.
• Foster a positive, inclusive and motivating environment for volunteers.

Data, Systems & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain high standards of data accuracy across volunteer systems and records.
• Use data insights to inform planning and improve service delivery.
• Identify and suggest improvements to volunteer processes, including onboarding and rota systems.

• Support organisational income generation activities where appropriate.

Qualifications, Skills, Experience, Knowledge & Approach

Essential

• Demonstrable experience in volunteer coordination or management
• Experience overseeing compliance processes (e.g. DBS, safeguarding, governance)
• Experience managing rotas, logistics or service delivery functions
• Demonstrated experience coordinating volunteer recruitment and onboarding processes
• A strong understanding of volunteer management best practice, including relevant legislation, policies, compliance requirements, safeguarding, DBS processes, and governance.
• Awareness of developments within the voluntary sector and hospice volunteering to ensure organisational practices remain current, effective, and compliant.

The Opportunity

This is far more than a community fundraising role.

You'll lead the development of SportsAid's Community Fundraising & Engagement programme at a pivotal moment in our history, helping shape the future of one of the UK's most respected sports charities.

Working closely with the Head of Fundraising and Communications and as part of an ambitious leadership team, you'll develop and deliver a bold community fundraising strategy, grow sustainable unrestricted income and create outstanding supporter experiences that inspire people to back the next generation.

You'll also provide strategic leadership for our growing alumni engagement programme, ensuring former SportsAid athletes remain connected through mentoring, advocacy, storytelling, volunteering and fundraising.

Whether it's launching new fundraising products, growing challenge events, building partnerships with schools, clubs and communities, or developing innovative supporter journeys, you'll have the freedom to build something with lasting impact.

As a Fundraising Systems Executive, you will play a key role in embedding our new Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, helping fundraising teams get the most out of our new systems. You will be part of a newly formed Technology team of developers, testers, and product specialists, working closely with brilliant colleagues to improve processes, manage donor data, and deliver innovative solutions.

This role suits someone with strong analytical and problem-solving skills who can support end users with technical issues and requests while managing multiple initiatives with ease.

You will need an understanding of fundraising processes and donor management, experience with CRM systems like Dynamics 365, familiarity with campaign management and reporting tools such as Excel or Power BI, and ideally a background in application support or not-for-profit organisations.

You’ll enjoy the variety of moving between reactive support and proactive delivery, helping shape the future of our fundraising systems while working alongside a clever and supportive team.

About the role

St James’s, Piccadilly is at an exciting moment in its 340-year history. The ‘Wren Project’ was recently awarded a major grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to complete fundraising towards the £23m. The Wren Project has secured it’s Permission to Start from the Heritage Fund and the Delivery Phase is well under way.
