About the Role
The Volunteering Development Officer plays a key role within the organisation ensuring volunteers are supported and empowered to help us create a world without limits for people with epilepsy. They will support the delivery of the organisational volunteer strategy, maximise volunteer impact and engagement and ensure that our volunteers are considered at the heart of everything we do. The Volunteering Development Officer will identify opportunities for new roles and will be responsible for the supervision, growth and support of volunteers in core roles, including Community Champions and our Action Team.
At Epilepsy Action, we recognise the power of collaboration and teamwork, so our team members with hybrid contracts are required to work a minimum of 40% of their time at our office in Yeadon, Leeds. On average this is two days a week on Mondays and Thursdays, for full-time employees.
Because regular face-to-face collaboration is an important part of this role, applicants should be based within a reasonable commuting distance of our Yeadon office and be able to attend the office as required.
The expectation to collaborate in person is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do, which may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to help us create a world without limits for people with epilepsy.
About You?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual who understands the value of volunteers and will champion volunteering across our organisation and beyond.
If you have strong communication and organisational skills, and enjoy supporting and empowering others, this role will provide opportunities to engage with and support a diverse range of volunteers from across the UK to help us create a world without limits for people with epilepsy.
You’ll be joining our charity at an extremely exciting time as we look to grow our volunteer reach ensuring that our volunteers are celebrated, supported and recognised for the immeasurable impact that they have.
