An exciting opportunity to help deliver a new national programme as it moves from planning into delivery. Over the next year, we will launch a new Foundation Degree for professionals working with children, designed to support a more connected, multi-disciplinary workforce across education, care, health and youth provision. This role will focus on delivering high-quality teaching to a local cohort of adult learners, supporting their transition into higher education and helping them engage successfully with the programme alongside work. As delivery develops, the role will contribute to a wider national network of lecturers, supporting consistent delivery across locations and helping to build a distinctive, practice-focused learning experience that connects theory to the realities of working with children and families. Join us at Single Homeless Project (SHP) as part of our Lewisham Vulnerable Adults Accommodation Service (LVAAS), delivering accommodation-based support across our properties in Brockley and New Cross. About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Income and Engagement, you will drive sustainable income growth through regular giving, appeals and lottery programmes generating £6–£7 million annually. You will lead multi‑channel campaigns, oversee supporter care, insight and marketing, and develop high‑performing teams to strengthen supporter relationships and enhance the LNAA brand. This permanent, full‑time role is based at our HQ and Airbase in Lincolnshire and plays a vital role in supporting our life‑saving service.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in a senior management role, in-depth knowledge of running regular giving, lottery and appeals fundraising programmes, significant experience in running multi-channel marketing campaigns that drive income growth, understanding of CRM Systems and experience of building supporter or customer journeys informed by data and insight.

This role is based at our Headquarters in Lincoln, with the option of hybrid working after a probationary period, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

• To offer a front-line service, primarily to adoptive and kinship families, and care experienced individuals and young people, by supporting delivery and administration for activities and events, including regular support groups delivery, youth and teens/young adults, and family events. Support of events across Scotland based on resources and availability.

• Support planning, organisation of, and attendance at, in person and online events through funded projects and services to bring together adopted and care-experienced individuals and young people and adoptive and kinship families, enable peer support, build a sense of community and promote an active and supportive Community Network. 

• To respond to enquiries received via the Information and Support Service and relevant email inboxes with relevant information and/or signposting.

• To be part of the wider communities within Adoption UK Scotland, working across teams and services. 

• Work collaboratively with colleagues across all services areas of Adoption UK 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working alongside service leads within the communities team, and with the wider Adoption UK Scotland team members to plan and deliver specific events and activities for adoptive and kinship community members, and care experienced children and young people via our E Project youth service for children, teens and young adults.

• Provide administrative coordination for community event provision, including collating event materials, gathering feedback and evaluations for reporting purposes, supporting delivery of events, maintaining records using existing required systems, and responding to enquiries via our Information and Support line and relevant email inboxes.

• Working alongside Communications colleagues and across teams to ensure promotion of events to relevant target groups 

• Attending events to promote the wider work of AUK Scotland at conferences or support groups

• To hold responsibility for administrative requirements relating to community events, including setting up booking pages, sharing information via newsletters and social media, and recording service delivery interactions, using existing Adoption UK systems and processes

• To work with colleagues in the Foundations for Families kinship support service to support delivery and coordinate activities between services where appropriate.

• To report to line manager and directors in Adoption UK Scotland relating to service delivery, including contributing to monitoring and reporting on activities.

About the role:

The Finance Manager is responsible for PLH’s financial systems, controls, and compliance. The role is responsible for ensuring smooth financial operations, accurate and timely reporting, and full compliance with UK Charity Commission requirements and donor regulations.

The position acts as:

• the primary point of contact between PLH and its outsourced accounting firm;
• the operational counterpart to a strategic Senior Director of Finance; and
• the primary source of financial support for programme teams. 

Responsibilities:

Financial Operations

• Act as the primary organisational contact for the outsourced accounting firm, setting expectations, reviewing performance, and ensuring service quality.
• Oversee the monthly financial close process, reviewing outputs from the outsourced accounting firm and producing management reports and key financial insights, including:

○ Cash flow and liquidity position

○ Income recognition

○ Restricted vs unrestricted funds

○ Project-level budget variance and cost recovery

• Maintain and update PLH’s Financial Model to reflect actuals, updated revenue and expense projections, and key variances against the approved annual budget, highlighting any significant issues or risks to the Senior Director of Finance.
• Regularly update forecasts based on actual performance and current assumptions within PLH’s Financial Model.
• Manage PLH’s project budgets and work closely with project managers, enforcing consistent standards of budget management, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Oversee the monthly payroll process, ensuring accuracy, compliance with local regulations, and timely coordination with external providers.
• Manage internal accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring appropriate controls, approvals, and segregation of duties.
• Manage and maintain PLH’s expense management and banking systems.
• Oversee PLH’s donation processing systems, with a strong focus on fraud prevention, anti-money laundering, and donor due diligence. 

Financial Compliance

• Review accounting records and supporting documentation prepared by the outsourced accounting firm.
• Ensure compliance across all donor-funded projects, in line with donor regulations and PLH’s internal financial policies.
• Enforce and evaluate strong financial policies and internal controls, regularly reviewing and aligning these systems with UK Charity Commission guidance and reporting requirements.
• Lead audit preparation, coordinate internal inputs, and act as primary day-to-day contact for external auditors.
• Organise the completion and submission of PLH’s annual return and HMRC corporate tax return.
• Monitor exchange rate fluctuations and advise the Executive and Operations teams on mitigation measures (including approved salary adjustments) to buffer sharp decreases in currency value, in line with organisational policy. 

Essential criteria:

• Fully or part-qualified professional accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent), or demonstrably equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in a finance role, including at least two years in a finance management or senior finance position.
• Demonstrable experience overseeing monthly close processes and producing high-quality management accounts and financial reports.
• Strong experience monitoring budgets, maintaining rolling forecasts, and updating financial models based on actuals and revised assumptions.
• Experience preparing for, coordinating, and supporting audits, including liaison with external auditors.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including complex formulas, linked models, and scenario-based inputs and assumptions.
• Strong experience working with cloud-based accounting systems and the ability to rapidly become fully proficient in PLH’s finance systems.
• Strong understanding of internal financial controls, segregation of duties, and financial policy compliance in a regulated environment.
• Ability to work with outsourced accounting or payroll providers, ensuring accuracy, quality control, and timeliness.
• High attention to detail, analytical rigour, and ability to interpret financial data to support evidence-informed decision-making.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues and support budget-holder capacity-building. 

Preferred criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
• Experience working within a UK-registered charity and familiarity with Charity Commission guidance and reporting requirements.
• Experience implementing or maintaining financial policies and procedures aligned with UK charity governance standards.
• Experience managing multi-currency transactions and foreign exchange exposure, ideally using Xero or comparable systems.
• International donor compliance experience, particularly with institutional or multilateral funders (e.g. UNICEF, UN agencies, WHO, major foundations). 
• Demonstrated success working in early-stage or scaling organisations, with the ability to operate both independently and collaboratively.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams and multiple country contexts.
• Confidence delivering financial guidance or training to project managers and non-finance staff.

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our Finance team on a maternity cover basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial sustainability of an organisation dedicated to improving child health in the UK and globally.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy and compliance of the College’s financial operations. You will support strategic decision-making through high-quality financial reporting, analysis and modelling, while ensuring robust financial controls and timely statutory reporting.

This role is ideally suited to a qualified or part-qualified accountant with strong financial accounting experience, particularly within the not-for-profit or public sector environment.

Key responsibilities include:

Hospice at Home’s skilled team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants provide our exceptional core services of palliative and end of life care and support people in their last year of life also providing additional services such as Lymphoedema, Bereavement and Family Support, Befriending, Occupational Therapy and Complementary Therapy.

We provide individualised care and support to improve quality of life and our end of life care helps facilitate a peaceful and dignified death in the home and support to those who are bereaved.

Although we receive some funding from the NHS, we need to raise over 85% of our running costs in order to ensure that this vital help is available when needed and remains free of charge to patients and their families.

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Major Gifts & Individual Giving Lead to join our fundraising team.

This role leads the operational development of Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland’s Major Gifts, Individual Giving and Legacy programmes, and support in the development of Trust & Foundation applications.

As a new area of focus for the organisation, the postholder will be responsible for designing, launching and growing a full supporter journey for individual donors—from regular giving through to mid‑value, major gifts and Legacy giving. They will build and manage a strong pipeline of donors and prospects, cultivating long‑term philanthropic support for the charity.

The role also carries responsibility for developing strategic corporate partnerships with a focus on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) alignment, and values‑led partnerships that deliver sustainable mutual benefit.

They will drive the charity’s communications and supporter experience. Working with the wider fundraising team, the postholder will help design and deliver a communications plan, oversee development of social media, maintain website content, and produce print and digital materials to support fundraising and raise awareness of fundraising opportunities.

Role purpose

The Head of Finance is a key member of the Charity’s senior management team, working closely with the chief executive, directors, and trustees. The head of finance will lead the day-to-day financial operations of the Charity, including budgeting, reporting, audit, payroll, and pensions. Managing the finance manager and management accountant, the Head of Finance will ensure the effective running of the finance department and smooth day-to-day processes. Main responsibilities

Financial controls, reporting, and operational finance

• Lead the finance function of the Charity, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial management and reporting.
