We are looking for a College Alumni Relations Manager to join our team to refine and expand a bold and innovative alumni volunteering programme to support both the priorities of the College of Medicine and Health and DARO. As a DARO business partner for the College, you will be based both within DARO and the College itself. You will join nine other volunteering professionals as part of the wider team and will be responsible for developing a range of volunteering opportunities for alumni, which support the College’s key priorities, and Birmingham 2030 targets, across a diversified curriculum, the student experience, graduate employability, student recruitment, research and influence. You will be responsible for growing the number of alumni volunteers for the College, reporting on the impact of your work internally and the relationship management of a number of key alumni contacts, with a clear focus on supporting international recruitment for the College. You will work with colleagues across DARO to bring alumni closer to the University to support Philanthropic giving.

Purpose of the Job
Commercial Manager will identify, develop and manage top food partners relationships and strengthen existing business relationships with companies in the food industry, generating value for the partner and to secure growing and sustainable volumes of surplus food for the FareShare Network. For designated top food partners, you will be their day-to-day point of contact with regular face to face contact at all levels.
You will undertake structured, strategic account management, leading and coordinating FareShare’s engagement across our organisation. This will mean agreeing and executing a bespoke joint business plan with each account to get more food, money and strategic support. You will also feedback on ways that we can better support our accounts and improve our services to them. You will work directly and be on-site with top food partners to help identify and overcome the barriers which exist to giving surplus food to people in need as well as increasing money and strategic resource.
You will also be required to work closely with FareShare colleagues within FareShare and across the UK in our partner organisations in order to identify and understand opportunities for creating mutual and shared value.
Duties and Responsibilities
Partnership Management
• Contribute to the development of consistent, structured Joint Business plans with
designated accounts that take into account food, funding and other strategic initiatives to drive growth in food, money and other strategic resources
• Work on behalf of the account to develop and embed services relevant to the account and agreed through the joint business plan – e.g. employability or store level redistribution
• Execute joint business plans and report internally and externally on progress.
• Research and understand your accounts, including key ESG initiatives, waste streams, key personnel within the organisation that will help drive its success and engage the relevant internal departments through both desked based research and face to face contact.
• Proactively drive account forwards and progress these relationships with regular on-site visits and linking FareShare exec with key contacts.
• Keep up to date with industry and charity insights and ensure this is reflected back strategically across ways of working and account management.
Project and Initiative Management
• Be responsible for managing and communicating key projects and initiatives to increase food volumes and strategic value, securing support from a range of stakeholders within food partners and across the FareShare network.
• Work closely with Supply Chain and Logistics, Operations and Network Development teams with the aim of optimising food out to our network
• Develop and lead FareShare cross-departmental strategic activity to enable us to derive maximum value from key food partners including liaising with fundraising, marketing and volunteering teams.

Background
Breaking barriers is delivering a Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) funded programme to provide employment support to participants in the Refugee Welcome Programme (RWP) across Greater Manchester.
Overall purpose
The main purpose of this role is to support asylum seeking and refugee clients as part of a new statutory contract. You will work closely with the Client Services Manager to support clients to progress into relevant opportunities and signpost to appropriate services.
In summary this role will be responsible for:
· Managing a caseload of clients referred through the programme, supporting RWP clients into employment across GMCA boroughs.
· Supporting the Client Services Manager with data collection and reporting, within Breaking Barriers and across all delivery partners
· Conducting outreach to referral partners’ venues, providing introduction and information about the programme to engage potential participants.
· Managing monthly network meeting for referral partners, taking the lead on providing updates and discussing any emerging issues with referral partners.
· Delivery of in-person group sessions with partner organisations at community locations e.g. hotels
You’ll be a confident communicator, comfortable working with a range of partners and maintaining positive working relationships. Most importantly, you’ll share our commitment to working with marginalised communities and have a genuine passion for improving opportunities for refugees and asylum seekers.

The Hub Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of a FSSW hub, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations that maximise the volume of surplus food received, stored, and distributed to our Community Food Members (CFMs). This includes managing a mixed team of staff, FareChance employability participants and volunteers in their operational tasks, maintaining high operational and health & safety standards, and collaborating with colleagues across food & logistics, compliance, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Management
- Oversee and manage the safe and efficient daily operation of the hub, ensuring essential tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Ensure the hub is appropriately set up to meet Key Performance Indicators and goods in and deliveries out, working closely with the Head of Operations.
- Use FareShare UK (FSUK)’s digital stock system to manage product movements and maintain stock accuracy. Lead weekly stock takes and investigate discrepancies in collaboration with the compliance and food teams.
- Oversee the smooth intake and dispatch of food, liaising with food donors, FSUK, transport providers, and partners. Ensure food deliveries meet acceptance criteria and report any quality issues promptly.
- Ensure the Hub Operations team maintain positive relationships with CFMs, ensuring high standards of service and communication.
- Play an active role in identifying solutions to operational challenges, in collaboration with the food, membership and volunteer teams.
- Coordinate and manage external contractors for maintenance and repairs.
- Provide procurement support to secure value for money on consumables and equipment.
- With support from the wider FSSW team, meet food waste KPIs to ensure that we effectively maximise food redistribution to CFMs.
- Ensure adequate stock of operational supplies and equipment to support daily operations.
- Responsible for the Hub Operations controllable costs budget. Oversee the management of on-site petty cash in line with financial controls.
- Work with the Head of Operations to improve systems and integrate new processes to support growth and efficiency.
- Carry out analysis of the fleet and its equipment including weekly vehicle checks and basic maintenance duties (e.g. tyre pressures, topping up vehicle fluids). Work with the Fleet Coordinator to ensure the on-site vehicle fleet is well maintained, roadworthy and compliant.

2. Team Management

3. FareChance Employability Programme
- Support the delivery of the FareChance programme by overseeing and supervising participants during operational tasks, ensuring they are actively engaged and contributing to the hub operations team.
- Ensure FareChance participants are effectively trained, supported, and equipped to carry out their allocated duties, with opportunities to build confidence and develop relevant skills, with support from the volunteer and employability teams.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that supports the health, safety and wellbeing of FareChance participants and enables them to thrive.

Purpose of the job

Sophie Hayes Foundation is a small but mighty charity supporting women survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking as they rebuild their independent lives, free from re exploitation for the long-term.

Hub Supervisor – South Bristol
Reporting to: Vale Lane Hub Manager

Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You will develop strong partnerships with regional organisations to generate referrals and address wider barriers such as mental health, housing or addiction, while also building strong relationships with local employers to create real opportunities for your clients, and sharing best practice with your colleagues in the team.
With a strong understanding of local labour markets and safeguarding practices, you’ll maintain high-quality case records, contribute to continuous improvement, and actively participate in team development. Adaptability, initiative and resilience are key, as we respond to the evolving needs of our clients and the communities we serve.

We are looking for an International Engagement Manager to join our team to refine and expand a bold and innovative alumni volunteering programme to support both the priorities of the University and the Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO). The post holder will deliver volunteer and engagement opportunities in key markets including China, India, Hong Kong, USA, Dubai, and many others, and will join nine other volunteering professionals as part of the wider team. The role will be responsible for developing a range of volunteering opportunities for international alumni, which support Birmingham 2030 targets around graduate employability, student recruitment, student experience, research and influence. You will be responsible for growing the number of international alumni volunteers and reporting on the impact of your work internally.
A key component of this role will be developing relationships with colleagues across the University to include alumni engagement and volunteering across the University’s international strategic themes. The International Engagement Manager role will be a point of contact for international matters into the Development and Alumni Relations Department amongst other University departments, including International Student Recruitment, Birmingham Global and Careers Network. As the lead on international engagement activity for the department, you will be expected to travel overseas for events and alumni activity in key strategic regions.
