Home-based role within the relevant region, or within reasonable travelling distance to meet the requirements of the post (subject to meeting homeworking assessment requirements, including a minimum broadband speed of 18Mbps and a dedicated space to work from). 

In this role, you will be working collaboratively with other CSP organisers and colleagues across the wider Employment Relations and Union Services (ERUS) team, to support the continued development of the CSP as an effective trade union.

You will recruit members and local union reps while supporting workplace activity and campaigns to defend and improve working conditions.

The post-holder will be able to use their experience, knowledge and skills to help realise the CSP organising strategy, participating in operational and strategic planning and evaluating the outcome of activities.

To succeed in this post, you will be an excellent communicator with confident and credible presentation skills, you will have a good understanding of the role of workplace representatives and the particular issues for a trade union and professional body. You will also need to have sensitivity and skills in facilitation to enable members to find their own solutions to workplace issues.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as an organiser within a trade union or equivalent expertise within another organisation.

The role involves extensive travel, chiefly within the areas of South East Coast (Kent, Medway, Surrey and Sussex) and East of England.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape change across PDSA at a pivotal point in our journey. As our Head of Change, you'll establish and lead a high-performing change function, ensuring our programmes, projects and transformation initiatives are aligned to our organisational strategy and deliver meaningful, measurable outcomes.

Catalyst Support is looking for a part-time Management Accountant to join our Finance team and play a key role in supporting the financial management of our charity services. About Catalyst Support

Through Community, Specialist and Outreach services, we support recovery, mental health and wellbeing – together every step of the way.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and project financial reports.
• Participate in regular management accounts meetings with budget holders; conduct variance analysis against budget and forecasts and provide commentary for senior management.
• Complete reconciliation of project related balance sheet accounts including accrued and prepaid expenditure, deferred and accrued income accounts.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds an Association of Accounting Technicians Certificate, or an equivalent qualification.
• Has at least two years’ experience in a management accounting role.
• Has experience working within the charity sector.
• Is confident preparing accurate, timely and informative monthly management accounts.
• Has experience working with budget holders and providing clear financial advice and guidance to non-finance colleagues.
• Can analyse budgets, forecasts and variances, and explain financial information in a clear and accessible way.
• Has strong numeracy skills and experience working with multiple projects or funding streams.
• Is confident using Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, including advanced Excel functions such as IF formulas and Pivot Tables.

This exciting new role sits within REUK’s Education Pathways work which has been in a pilot phase for the last few years and is rapidly growing now that the UK government has made a commitment to expanding safe and legal routes to higher education in the UK for refugee students.

Once a student is selected for participation and offered a university place, this postholder becomes their core anchor and primary REUK point of contact. This role oversees the entire student journey—from pre-departure preparation and arrival orientation to ongoing academic support, psychosocial wellbeing, community building on campus and monitoring of student outcomes.

The postholder will work alongside the newly created Education Pathways Universities Lead. While the Universities Lead focuses on institutional partnerships, you will focus on the student support side of the pathway: equipping university welcome groups to develop integration plans, pairing scholars with academic mentors (with support from REUK’s educational mentoring team), building a vibrant national student network, and providing hands-on casework escalation when complex issues arise.

This is a critical role within a small, high-capacity specialist unit within REUK. Because this is an emerging and new area of work you must be comfortable working with risk and ambiguity, refining and learning rapidly as parameters evolve. You will be a versatile practitioner - equally skilled at designing cohort orientation programmes and delivering student workshops as you are at managing administrative workflows, tracking student outcomes, and delivering compassionate, individual casework support.

Role outcomes

1. Refugee Education Pathway students transition smoothly into UK higher education through comprehensive pre-departure guidance, arrival orientation, and holistic onboarding. To this end, key responsibilities include: 

• Serving as REUK’s primary point of contact for scholars in the months immediately preceding travel, delivering pre-departure briefings and managing expectation-setting.

• Supporting the Education Pathways Lead to recruit, select and match eligible students.

• Coordinating arrival logistics and initial orientation in close collaboration with partner universities and campus welcome groups.

• Establishing clear, trauma-informed onboarding protocols to help students adapt quickly to the academic and cultural environment of UK universities.

• Designing and delivering (in collaboration with young refugees who participated in the pilot pathway) high-quality orientation resources, toolkits, and interactive induction sessions tailored to the unique practical and psychosocial needs of newly arrived refugee students.

• Working alongside the Universities Lead to conduct campus visits to ensure scholars are safely settled and Welcome Groups are offering appropriate integration support

2. Scholars thrive academically, socially, and emotionally through tailored REUK-added support structures, mentorship, and peer networks. To this end, key responsibilities include: 

• Supporting the Universities Lead in training campus welcome groups (staff, student unions, and peer volunteers) and maintaining ongoing liaison to ensure high-quality local support.

• Overseeing REUK’s added-value support framework, including:

  • Sourcing, matching, and managing academic mentors for students on the programme;

  • Facilitating a vibrant, national network for education pathway students, organising regular in-person and online meet-ups and peer connections, as well as referrals to REUK’s refugee student leadership programme;

  • Providing occasional direct, high-level casework support and conflict resolution when complex student welfare, academic, or integration issues are escalated from universities to REUK.

• Fostering an empowering community environment that prioritises student agency, mental health, and long-term wellbeing throughout their studies.

3. Student support operations, cross-team coordination, safeguarding and administrative processes are managed efficiently and self-sufficiently. To this end, key responsibilities include: 

• Managing all student-facing administrative processes, communication channels, and record-keeping systems independently without junior administrative support. 

• Working in close alignment with the Universities Lead to ensure institutional arrangements and campus support delivery are fully synchronized.

• Maintaining robust safeguarding and data protection protocols across all student casework, communications, and interactions. 

• Liaising with external specialist organizations (e.g., legal advisors, healthcare providers, mental health services) when complex casework exceeds standard university support.

4. Student progress and outcomes are robustly evaluated and clearly communicated, contributing to programme learning and REUK’s wider mission. To this end, key responsibilities include: 

• Reporting directly to the Education Pathways Lead and Chief Executive on cohort wellbeing, retention rates, academic progress, and key student outcomes.

• Designing and implementing (with the support of REUK’s Research Manager) student feedback mechanisms, regular check-ins, and longitudinal evaluation frameworks to track scholar progression.

• Supporting grant reporting and contributing qualitative impact stories and student reflections for funders, communications and organisational learning.

• Working alongside the Youth Advocacy Manager to provide Education Pathways students opportunities to engage with our Refugee Changemakers team

• Feeding student-led insights and operational learning into REUK’s broader research, policy, and systemic change work to improve refugee education nationwide.

Person specification

Although each role requires particular competencies, we seek staff members - irrespective of role - who are willing and able to demonstrate core competencies related to 1) character and values, 2) personal working style and 3) team working. • Student support and safeguarding: Proven track record of delivering direct support, pastoral care and complex casework for displaced young people or international/refugee students in higher education and supporting others to do the same.

• Training and resources: Experience designing and delivering transition, orientation, or onboarding programmes that support cross-cultural adaptation and academic readiness.

• Volunteering management: Strong experience in recruiting, training and supporting volunteers and volunteer groups (e.g., akin to academic mentors or campus welcome groups).

• Network and community building: Skills in facilitating student-led networks, organizing cohort events/meet-ups, and building inclusive peer-to-peer support spaces.

• Operational self-sufficiency and willingness to travel: High level of personal organization, ability to manage admin independently without junior support, and willingness to travel regularly across the UK.

• Knowledge of education pathway models: Familiarity with international refugee education pathway models (such as Canada’s WUSC; Australia’s RSSP/SkillPath and or others operating in Japan, Italy, Ireland etc).

• Knowledge and understanding of refugee tertiary education and the needs of resettled refugees more broadly: Strong understanding of the systemic barriers faced by refugee students in higher education both in the UK and internationally in first countries of asylum, as well as the support needed on resettlement to a third country.

• Student participation: Deep understanding of the principles of youth or student leadership and co-production, with the ability to embed these meaningfully across the education pathway 

• Interpersonal skills: An ability to build and maintain positive, warm and confidence inspiring working relationships with internal colleagues and external partners and stakeholders, including in complex situations.

• Communications: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including ability to appropriately communicate nuance and complexity; confidence communicating with and presenting to a variety of audiences.

We’re looking for a Senior Media and Communications Lead to deliver and manage our rail suicide prevention campaigns.

In this role you’ll take the lead in managing Samaritans’ communications and media activity relating to rail suicide prevention. You will manage the delivery of our important Small Talk Saves Lives campaign and other targeted awareness campaigns. You’ll also lead on media relations for our rail programme, identifying opportunities to ensure Samaritans’ is visible in relevant media stories.

You will represent Samaritans’ Rail programme at a national level, working with key rail industry stakeholders and programme funders. You’ll also work alongside colleagues across Samaritans, including regional rail colleagues and those within the wider media team.

About the role

As RCOG Communications and Media Manager, the campaigns you design and lead will ensure the voices of women and frontline clinicians are shaping the health agenda and influencing policy.

In this role, you will work regularly with national journalists, women’s health charities, Department of Health and Social Care, NHS England or successor bodies, other royal colleges, specialist societies and other partners to develop accurate and compelling stories that bring the College’s work to life in the news.

Job Description

We are seeking a driven and enthusiastic practitioners, to join Catch22 Surrey Young People’s Substance Use Service (SYPSUS). This role will be focused on providing substance use interventions, to children and young people (C&YP), who are accessing support from certain services within Surrey Mindworks (formerly known as CAMHS).

The new post will provide the successful candidate with an exciting opportunity to shape and develop the role, and to contribute to service development. This is a great time to join a happy, safe, and supportive team, who are passionate about delivering the best possible outcomes for children, young people, and their families.

Main responsibilities:

· To develop and embed links/pathway between services, working directly with children and young people who are accessing Mindworks Surrey.

· To provide sustained support to a pre-defined caseload of young people, who are referred by means of effective assessment and care planning.

· To act as a link worker between Mindworks and Catch22 SYPSUS, ensuring delivery of an integrated provision for children and young people.

· To deliver therapeutic interventions, such as brief solution focused and motivational interviewing, as well as contributing to systemic practice.

· To work alongside Surrey Mindworks colleagues, providing consultation and guidance. 

· To assess levels of presenting risk associated with substance use, and provide support in managing this risk.

· In partnership with SYPSUS colleagues, to deliver training and workshops to support and upskill staff. 

· To identify and develop resources to support professionals working with children and young people with substance use issues.

Qualifications

· A relevant qualification such as youth work, counselling, health and social care, and/or relevant experience of therapeutic delivery, and alternative suitable qualifications. 

· Good communication, organisational, and ICT skills.

What does good look like for this role?

· You will demonstrate knowledge and competency in delivering young people’s substance use interventions, to a wide arrange of individuals, according to their needs.

· You will have knowledge/understanding and or direct experience of supporting C&YP who are experiencing difficulties with their emotional wellbeing and mental health.

About the Role

You will lead the effective, safe and welcoming operation of our premises. This is a key role in ensuring our buildings support high-quality services for survivors, staff, volunteers and visitors, with spaces that feel safe, well managed and cared for.

You will oversee day-to-day facilities management, planned and reactive maintenance, contractor management, health and safety, utilities, procurement and facilities-related projects. Working closely with colleagues across Solace, you will help ensure our working environments are efficient, compliant, trauma-informed and fit for purpose.

About You

You will have experience in facilities management, premises management or a similar operational role, with a strong understanding of health and safety, compliance, contractor coordination and service delivery. You will bring a practical, solutions-focused approach and the ability to manage competing priorities calmly and effectively.

You will be confident working with landlords, contractors, suppliers and internal teams, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and standards are maintained across our sites.

You will be passionate about creating safe, inclusive and well-functioning environments for our service users and staff, and you will share our commitment to Solace's values and purpose.

We understand that you may not have all the knowledge, experience, and skills mentioned in the Job Profile Document. However, your interpersonal skills, passion to have a positive impact, commitment to our purpose, and ability to learn quickly and collaborate effectively will be equally important.

Additional Information

This is a hybrid role. The postholder will be required to travel to various sites across London, with a minimum of three days per week spent at our head office or our other London locations, depending on the requirements of the role.

Team: Finance & Resources

Locations: Hybrid – at our office (Argon House, Argon Mews, London SW6 1BJ) and remotely at home. A minimum of two days a week at the office (including our all-staff Wednesday) 

Duration: Permanent (with six months’ probation)

Reporting to: CEO

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday

Salary: Starting salary £60,000 

The post holder will be responsible for the following: 

Finance 

• Maintain appropriate and comprehensive finance and accounting policies and procedures including payment authorisations, cash management etc. 

• Provide clear and accurate financial information, budgets and forecasts to the trustees, CEO fundraising team and other departments as required. 

• Manage strategic relationship with key partner organisations such as bookkeepers/auditors/payroll providers/banks etc. 

• Overall responsibility, with support from the external bookkeeper and internal staff, for: 

• Ensuring accurate recording and maintenance of finance data, including accurate classification of income. 

• Ensuring balance sheet and bank is reconciled and reviewed monthly. 

• Preparing and developing monthly Management Accounts. 

• Oversee preparation of the annual financial statements and manage the external audit. 

• Oversee payroll and pension process, engaging with external payroll support, including administering monthly payroll and fortnightly payroll during the Winter Night Shelter season. 

Legal and compliance 

• Overall responsibility for compliance with all legislation / codes. 

• Ensure Companies House, Charity Commission, HMRC and Pensions Regulator requirements 

 are met in a timely fashion. 

Risk management 

• Overall responsibility for risk management, including timely and accurate completion of relevant risk assessments, maintaining and developing the organisation's risk register, and procuring and maintaining appropriate insurance cover. 

• Overall functional responsibility for health and safety. 

Office Management  

• Overall responsibility for information technology across the organisation, which is implemented day-to-day by the IT support providers. 

• Ensure Glass Door has appropriate office space which meets all legal requirements and government regulations, environmental, health and security standards. 

• Organise and review general administrative processes and induct new staff on relevant office processes, including data protection, security and fire safety.

• Support and line manage the receptionist and office volunteers to ensure that we deliver high levels of service to staff, guests and other visitors, creating a warm and welcoming environment 

People Management 

• Manage the HR function: 

• Ensure Glass Door is an attractive and rewarding place to work and staff deliver their potential. 

• Review, identify and implement improvements in the HR function to optimise effectiveness and efficiency. 

• Lead on managing employee relations. 

• Support and line manage the Finance & Resources team (HR Manager, receptionists). 

• Conduct regular supervision meetings and performance appraisals. 

Senior Leadership Team 

• Operate as part of the Glass Door senior leadership team, with a particular remit to ensure that we are fulfilling our financial and compliance objectives. 

• Support the CEO and colleagues in setting the strategic direction for Glass Door. 

• Represent the CEO on internal or external matters, if appropriate. 

Governance 

• Manage the Resources Committee and Finance Committee on behalf of the trustees. 

• Assist in managing the Board of Trustees e.g. co-ordinate diaries, set dates, drafting and circulating agendas and papers. 

• Organise the Annual General Meeting, including drafting papers and corresponding with members. 

• Co-ordinate the annual policy review process for Finance & Resources (finance, legal, HR, data, governance) and Fundraising & Communications (fundraising, communications). 

• Manage the Glass Door complaints process.

Qualifications and Experience 

• Minimum CIMA or CIPFA qualification.

• Experience with month end reporting. 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

• Excellent working knowledge of accounting software systems e.g. Xero. 

• Fully conversant with best practice in accounting procedures. 

• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail, especially record-keeping and 

electronic filing. 

• Strong written English and numeracy skills. 

• Excellent skills in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and 

databases). 

• Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills. 

• Ability to forward plan and schedule workflows. 

• Ability to relate to and work with people from a range of backgrounds. 

Desirable 

• ACA or ACCA qualification. 

• Experience of working with homeless people or similar disadvantaged client groups and an 

understanding of their needs. 

• Experience of working in the not-for-profit sector. 

• Experience of charity accounting/ the SORP. 

• Experience of risk management. 

• An understanding of GDPR and health and safety legislation.
