The Youth Hub Coordinator role leads the coordination and day-to-day delivery of Selby Trust’s DWP-funded Youth Hub, supporting young people aged 18–24 into employment, training, education and enterprise. The Hub brings Jobcentre Plus, training providers, employers and community services together in one safe, inclusive, multi-agency space at the Selby Centre.
In this role you will:

• Lead the day-to-day running of the Youth Hub, managing each young person’s journey from referral through to progression.
• Build and coordinate a multi-agency partnership – including Jobcentre Plus, training and further education providers, employers, and youth and community organisations.
• Focus delivery on young people facing multiple or complex barriers to work, such as long-term unemployment, mental health challenges, housing instability or contact with the criminal justice system.
• Connect the Hub with Selby Trust’s wider offer – including Selby Active, Selby Ventures and our creative and wellbeing programmes – and help shape how youth services will run in the new Selby Centre.

Success will be measured by increased engagement of 18–24-year-olds, progression into employment, training or education, and strong, integrated partnership delivery. The role is based on site and requires some flexibility to support events and outreach.

Principal accountabilities

• Lead day-to-day delivery of the Youth Hub, coordinating workshops, drop-ins and partner sessions to provide a varied and consistent programme.
• Manage referrals and onboarding from JCP Work Coaches, the Youth Offending Team, Early Help, voluntary and community organisations and self-referrals, ensuring a smooth and well-recorded participant journey.
• Carry out initial assessments with each young person to identify their goals, strengths and support needs, and work with Employment Advisors to develop personalised action plans.
• Coordinate co-located services and training providers on site, and connect with existing 16–24 provision on site and externally, giving young people clear routes into employability workshops, accredited and non-accredited training, careers guidance and wellbeing support.
• Represent Selby Trust and build effective relationships with Jobcentre Plus, training providers, employers, local authorities and community organisations, including at local partnership meetings and networks, and establish peer learning links with Youth Hubs in other boroughs.
• Develop employer links across corporate and local sectors to create jobs, work experience, placements and apprenticeships, and organise careers events and employer engagement sessions.
• Support enterprise and self-employment pathways for young people through Selby Ventures, Selby Trust’s enterprise and business support programme.
• Create a welcoming and inclusive environment, supporting young people facing barriers such as unemployment, mental health or housing, and signposting to specialist services where needed.
• Promote engagement through sport, wellbeing and creative activities, working with colleagues across Selby Active and other on-site programmes, and embed youth voice and co-production in the design and delivery of the Hub.
• Act as safeguarding lead within the Hub, applying trauma-informed approaches and making sure concerns are recorded and escalated in line with Selby Trust’s policies.
• Monitor and evaluate engagement and outcomes, maintaining accurate participant records and producing high-quality reports for DWP and other stakeholders (including the Board of Trustees), working with the Partnerships and Funding Manager.
• Co-lead the capture of stories, case studies and content for Selby Trust’s digital channels, and support targeted outreach (including social media) to reach young people across Haringey.
• Work within relevant guidelines, including GDPR, equal opportunities, health and safety, and safeguarding.
