Role - Zero Hours Child Resource Worker

Hours - Variable and inconsistent including evenings and weekends

Salary - £12.77 per hour plus 15% Holiday Pay

Location - Applicants must be based around Newport, Cwmbran and the vale of Glamorgan. 

TACT Wales are looking for a Male children's resource worker to collaborate with them to support a young male who lives with his very supportive foster family. The ideal Children's Resource Worker will already have some experience in engagement and participation with vulnerable young people who have experienced trauma, care experienced children or have similar experience in child-facing settings. Activities would include completing one-one work with life skills, and developing a trust relationship, and taking to activities. High level of flexibility required to cover weekends, evenings and bank holidays. Occasionally may be required to support with overnight residentials and night support within the foster home. Car driver and owning a car is essential. There will be opportunities for training and development for this role, as new workers join us at our organisation wide journey to become a fully trauma-informed organisation. The successful candidate will undertake essential  duties that will impact positively on the long-term outcomes for the young people and children in our care. This role is an essential part of the wider team, working in close partnership with parents, carers, young people, local authorities and their social workers.

Key duties and abilities for our Children's Resource Worker will include:

• Supporting interventions and activities to ensure stable placement arrangements
• Ability to transport children and young people to events, appointments and meetings (mileage reimbursed)
• Occasional participation in virtual and face to face events and occasional residential meet ups
• Ability to attend and assist with organising events and activities
• Understanding and maintaining knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures
• Use of IT for email and communication
• Willingness to work flexibly, according to deadlines and needs of our families

You will be co‑producing risk assessments, crisis plans, and safety plans with service users, their loved ones and professionals, while delivering person‑centred support that adapts to changing needs, strengths and progress. You will be supporting individuals to achieve outcomes around wellbeing, safety, economic stability and positive contribution, alongside managing crises, substance‑misuse risks and mental health relapses. You will also take on caretaking and housing‑management duties, conduct flat checks, maintain building security through health and safety checks, alarm and CCTV monitoring and regular patrols, and complete nightly cleaning tasks to ensure the environment remains safe, secure and well maintained.

What do I need to bring with me?

You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You will bring experience of supporting people with mental health and complex needs, ideally including work with individuals affected by substance misuse. You will maintain high standards in challenging situations and draw on knowledge of legislation such as welfare reform, the Care Act and housing pathways. To achieve this, the Pathfinder will strengthen collaboration between statutory and voluntary sector services, improve identification of complex trauma-related needs and develop the capacity and pathways required to deliver timely, sustained and trauma informed support.

The Alliance Director (AD) will hold a pivotal leadership role within the Alliance Management Team, responsible for ensuring the Enhanced Mental Health Pathfinders Alliance delivers on its vision and achieves its strategic objectives. Dataro are looking for a Partnerships & Marketing UK Manager to help grow their presence across the UK charity sector. This is a varied role that combines partnership development with hands-on marketing and events delivery, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, spotting opportunities, and turning ideas into action. 

Around 70% of the role will focus on partnerships and new business growth; identifying and developing collaborations that build pipeline and raise Dataro’s profile across the UK. Effective management of clergy housing and glebe assets is critical to supporting mission and ministry across the Diocese which covers Coventry, Warwickshire and part of Solihull.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bid Manager and Writer to join our dynamic Business Development Team.
