Job type: Full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract (MAT cover) with an anticipated start date in early 2027.

Location: Banbury, London, Cardiff, or Belfast – you will be contractually based in the office nearest to you with hybrid working.

Hybrid working: You will be able to work from home and come into the office to collaborate with your team(s) when required. We have flexible core hours, and we don’t believe in a culture of presenteeism. We will discuss what is important to you during the recruitment process.

Salary & Benefits: £52,800 + 10% pension, 25 days annual leave + bank holidays, 35-hour working week, up to 13 flexi-days, private medical insurance, life assurance, and much more!

The role

As our Strategic Engagement Manager (MAT cover), you will establish, develop and grow strategic relationships with key funders, securing sustainable income and long-term partnerships that support our mission and maximise our impact. Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will identify funding, consortium and strategic partnership opportunities, develop compelling funding applications, deliver high-quality stewardship and ensure partners and funders remain engaged and inspired by our work.

You will play a key role in shaping and delivering our fundraising strategy, providing regular updates on trends across the funding landscape, with a focus on multilateral, statutory funders and Official Development Assistance (ODA). You will contribute to a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture. Working closely with fellow fundraising professionals and multidisciplinary teams, you will be an excellent communicator and a strong team player.

What are we looking for?

You will bring:

• A proven track record of securing income from institutional / statutory funders, major foundations or other strategic funding partners.
• Excellent organisational and written communication skills, with experience of producing detailed and complex funding applications.
• Strong track record of working collaboratively, developing consortia / partnership funding bids, demonstrating influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience developing and managing a sustainable institutional funding pipeline, including an annual workplan aligned with anticipated funding opportunities and income targets.
