Family Fund is the UK’s largest charity supporting low-income families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people.

The Role 

This is an exciting opportunity to shape how Family Fund connects with people across the UK. As a newly created role, it offers real scope to define and develop the function, while playing a central role in strengthening the organisation’s voice and influence.

We are looking for a bold, creative Group Director of External Affairs to join our Senior Leadership Team. At a time when families need us more than ever, you will raise Family Fund’s national profile and influence, positioning the organisation as a trusted, evidence led voice on childhood disability, serious illness and the broader challenges facing low-income families. You will build and sustain strong relationships with policymakers, funders, and the public ensuring the organisation secures the visibility, support, and resources needed to drive lasting change for the families we serve.

You will lead an energetic, specialist team spanning communications, media, public affairs, partnerships and research, bringing these areas together through a joined up external engagement strategy that delivers real impact.

• Raise Family Fund’s profile as a trusted national voice

About Marauders Men's Health

Marauders Men's Health is a dynamic, South Wales-based charity dedicated to improving the health, wellbeing, and mental fitness of men through connection and support. We are the community where men can walk, talk, and grow together, underpinned by the Five Ways to Wellbeing model (Connect, Be Active, Give, Take Notice, Learn).

We have established strong foundations, including secured funding from the Big Lottery Community Fund over three years, a full Board of Trustees, and a growing programme of 8 events each week, including Walk & Talks and Sports Hubs. We are seeking an inspiring leader to drive our ambitious strategy to engage 7,000 men and provide 330 Personal Wellbeing Plans over the next three years.

Opportunity 
Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees, this crucial role is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and operational delivery of the charity. You will take the lead in executing our strategic vision and ensuring our operations are robust, particularly in the development of our key programmes and IT platform.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic & Operational Leadership

· Lead the day-to-day running and strategic direction of the charity in line with the Board’s vision.

· Develop, manage, and oversee the charity's resources and workstreams.

· Ensure governance, compliance, and policies/procedures remain in good shape.

· Support the Board with fundraising strategy and financial accountability, including financial forecasting and reporting to funders.

2. Programme Management & Delivery

· Directly manage the Programme & Projects Manager and the Regional Event Leaders, and assist in the recruitment process for the newly established Volunteering Co-ordinator and the Wellbeing Coach/Coordinator roles. 

· Drive the delivery and expansion of our core programmes, including the Physical Activities (Walk & Talks, Sports Hubs), Volunteer Engagement, Community Partnerships and the Personal Wellbeing Plans (PWP)18.

· Develop and implement the Marauders Pathway Programme to establish a culture of good citizenship and peer support.

3. People & Volunteer Management

· Provide leadership, support, and development for staff, managing issues such as payroll, sickness, and holidays.

· Oversee the Volunteer Co-ordinator to develop a comprehensive volunteer management process, including recruitment, training, and 'Reward & Recognition’.

· Help inspire 100 men to give back to the community through volunteering.

4. Partnerships & IT Development

· Maintain and forge new community partnerships (e.g. with voluntary organisations, NGO’s, other charities and social enterprises) to enhance volunteering, education, and wellbeing services.

· Spearhead the development of our IT Platform, focusing on a robust website and a Beneficiary Management System (CRM) for efficient reporting, data capture, and engagement.

· Oversee digital marketing and communications, including newsletters and social media content.

• Highly Personable & Engaging: The ability to build strong relationships with staff, volunteers, beneficiaries, and partners is critical.
• Management & Leadership: Proven experience managing staff and leading the operational delivery of projects and programmes.  A resilient, determined and confident team player, comfortable with making decisions and highly customer focused coupled with demonstrable people management skills. 
• IT Literate: Comfortable managing and driving the development of digital tools and systems (e.g., Google Workspace, CRM, Quickbooks, Trello, Excel). 
• Flexibility: Willingness to work flexibly in terms of hours and location, with a base in South Wales.
• Presentation and Reporting Skills:  Excellent presentation and reporting skills are essential, as you will be required to present to the community and beneficiaries and be able to write effective reports to the Board of Trustees and Funders.
• Project Planning:  Experience of supporting the creation of project plans, including prioritisation and scheduling of conflicting tasks and effective use of available resources and budgets. 

Desirable Experience

• Third Sector Knowledge: Experience working professionally within a charity or non-profit organisation.

LRMN's Finance Assistant works closely with Finance Manager (FM) to maintain LRMN’s financial records, ensuring that all transactions are accurately and timely recorded to support the FM producing the reporting data for the management accounts and the monthly bank reconciliation.

As Finance Assistant you will:

• Post purchase invoices daily in QuickBooks, aligned with Salesforce records, ensuring PDFs are uploaded and costs correctly allocated

• Process petty cash claims in QuickBooks with supporting receipts, accurate budget allocation, and petty cash reconciliation in liaison with the FM

• Record and post all bank and card expenses monthly in QuickBooks, with receipt/invoice uploads

• Review trade creditors reports with the FM to ensure invoices are captured for weekly payment runs

• Raise sales invoices in QuickBooks as required

• Review trade debtors reports with the FM and monitor timely invoice payments

• Assist and liaise with the FM and CEO as required

Salary: £61,000 (inclusive of ILW and market allowance)

Location: Based at the Bromley by Bow Centre in Tower Hamlets.  Given the leadership and collaborative nature of the post, the Assistant Director will be expected to have a strong presence and attend the Centre multiple times a week.  There will be travel within the London area and occasionally outside of this region.

The Bromley by Bow Centre (BBBC), established in 1984, has grown into a nationally recognised model for community regeneration. Today, it serves as a key hub for the East London Borough of Tower Hamlets, with a mission to help the community thrive through person-centred, holistic, and integrated health and wellbeing support.

BBBC works in close partnership with a range of stakeholders, its services span integrated advice, employability and enterprise programmes, learning opportunities, community and wellbeing support, social prescribing, and activities that foster inclusion. In addition, the Centre collaborates across organisations and communities to deepen understanding, share learning, and develop its principles and model.

BBBC is merging into Family Action early in 2026 and will become a part of Family Action’s vibrant London region, which works in and with diverse London communities and adapts to their evolving needs. Our work is underpinned by service user involvement, robust partner engagement, and a strong commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. We strive to create a sense of belonging for both staff and the people we support, and we are dedicated to innovating and co-designing services alongside those with lived experience.

The role requires a strategic thinker who is confident in developing and working with external stakeholders and partners while maintaining a clear oversight of operational delivery.  

You will be creative, promote innovation, and contribute to the ongoing growth and strategic development of BBBC and services within the wider Family Action.

Responsibilities:

· Lead and manage strategic partnerships at a local and national level.

· Provide leadership and drive innovation across BBBC.

· Operational line management of the Heads of Delivery and Impact ensuring the successful integration of BBBC into Family Action.

· Oversee budgets, manage financial risks, generate income, and contribute to sustainable service development.

· Represent BBBC and Family Action externally and build strong partnerships to support integrated service delivery.

· Ensure high-quality, safe, and compliant services through overseeing effective monitoring, auditing, and continuous improvement in line with Family Action’s polices and frameworks.

· Be a key member of Family Action’s London team and the wider Senior Leadership Group.

The Generous Giving Manager is a very exciting and influential role at the Diocese, as you will build on the strong and energetic foundations within our two-person Generous Giving Team to strengthen the financial sustainability of local churches by encouraging generosity in time, talents and financial giving.

Working closely with deaneries, parishes and their leadership teams, you will identify local challenges and opportunities for generous giving, sharing innovative giving practices to help parishes and deaneries develop creative and effective ways to resource their mission.

Communicating clearly and inspiringly the principles of Christian giving to diverse audiences, you will keep up to date with National Church resources, promoting and supporting a wide range of giving methods such as the Parish Giving Scheme (PGS), online and contactless giving. You will also offer guidance to parish officers for resources on giving campaigns, legacies and grant funding.

This is an ideal role for someone with a good understanding of church life, a passion for helping local churches thrive, a strong commitment to community engagement and an understanding of generosity grounded in Christian teaching.

With demonstrable experience in fundraising or parish ministry, you should bring an awareness of the financial and missional challenges facing churches today, particularly in rural contexts.

Monitor and report on the progress of the Martingale Foundation:

• Lead the production of impact reports.

Project management: leading a project team to produce high-quality, competitive, and financially viable bids.

Strong project planning, organisational and prioritisation skills are essential, along with proven experience working collaboratively across teams, particularly with Marketing and Communications.

You will bring experience in leading others, including setting SMART objectives, managing performance, and supporting staff development to enhance team capability. You will be able to lead a portfolio of individual and regular giving activities, ensuring targets are met and high-quality delivery is maintained. Hours of Work

Hours of work are 35 hours per week, 09:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday.
