Location: Based at the Bromley by Bow Centre in Tower Hamlets.  Given the leadership and collaborative nature of the post, the Assistant Director will be expected to have a strong presence and attend the Centre multiple times a week.  There will be travel within the London area and occasionally outside of this region.

You will be creative, promote innovation, and contribute to the ongoing growth and strategic development of BBBC and services within the wider Family Action.

Responsibilities:

· Lead and manage strategic partnerships at a local and national level.

· Provide leadership and drive innovation across BBBC.

· Operational line management of the Heads of Delivery and Impact ensuring the successful integration of BBBC into Family Action.

· Oversee budgets, manage financial risks, generate income, and contribute to sustainable service development.

· Represent BBBC and Family Action externally and build strong partnerships to support integrated service delivery.

· Ensure high-quality, safe, and compliant services through overseeing effective monitoring, auditing, and continuous improvement in line with Family Action’s polices and frameworks.

· Be a key member of Family Action’s London team and the wider Senior Leadership Group.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Management & Reporting

• Lead preparation of management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and variance analysis
• Produce quarterly finance reports and manage month end processes and reports
• Oversee preparation of the annual statutory accounts and audit

• Manage and improve financial systems e.g. Sage
• Work closely with Executive Director to track restricted and unrestricted funds

4. Governance & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with the Charities Act, Companies Act, and funder requirements
• Prepare data and documents as required for reporting to key funders
• Prepare finance reports and dashboards for board meetings
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and the Charity Commission
• Support the Treasurer and Finance & Resource Committee and attend board meetings as required

Ideal Candidate Profile

Essential

• Professional qualification (or part-qualified) such as ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CIPFA, or equivalent
• Strong financial and accounting experience within a Finance Department covering all relevant functions
• Excellent budgeting, forecasting, and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of Charity SORP and statutory charitable reporting and accounts preparation.
• Technical knowledge of tax matters (VAT and PAYE).
• Experience of managing VAT and gift aid for a charity.
• Experience with Sage or another cloud-based accounting platform.
• High attention to detail and ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues

Desirable

• Experience with arts, education, or cultural sector charities.

As this role is temporary maternity cover, we’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running and get involved with multiple projects straight away. To be successful in this role you will:

• be an effective project-manager, adept at engaging and influencing stakeholders and fostering collaboration to achieve objectives

The Role

As Finance Director, you will play a central strategic role - partnering closely with the Chief Executive, Senior Leadership Group, Trustees and Audit & Risk Committee to ensure Living Streets is financially resilient, well-governed and positioned for continued growth.

This is both a strategic and hands-on role - perfect for someone who can see the big picture while also being willing to get into the detail.

Key Responsibilities
You will:

• Lead the financial strategy, including long-term modelling, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
• Provide high-quality business partnering across SLG/SMT, supporting delivery of organisational priorities and effective decision-making.
• Strengthen governance and compliance, acting as Company Secretary and ensuring regulatory standards are met.
• Lead the continued evolution of financial systems, including Dynamics Business Central and automation to improve efficiency and insight.
• Oversee financial operations, risk management, audit preparation, annual reporting and internal performance monitoring.
• Drive organisational effectiveness by streamlining processes, improving controls and maximising value for money.
• Lead, support and develop the Finance Team, fostering accountability, learning, innovation and high performance.

About You
We're seeking a senior finance professional who brings:

• Significant experience as a Finance Director or senior financial leader.
• A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA, CIPFA, ACCA).
• Strong knowledge of charity accounting, governance and charity regulation.
• Experience advising Boards/Committees and leading organisation-wide financial planning.
• The ability to lead change, modernise systems and drive efficiencies.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to influence at senior level.
• A collaborative, values-driven approach aligned with Living Streets’ purpose.

Charity sector experience is highly preferable.

Marauders Men's Health is a dynamic, South Wales-based charity dedicated to improving the health, wellbeing, and mental fitness of men through connection and support. We have established strong foundations, including secured funding from the Big Lottery Community Fund over three years, a full Board of Trustees, and a growing programme of 8 events each week, including Walk & Talks and Sports Hubs. We are seeking an inspiring leader to drive our ambitious strategy to engage 7,000 men and provide 330 Personal Wellbeing Plans over the next three years.

Opportunity 
Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees, this crucial role is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and operational delivery of the charity. You will take the lead in executing our strategic vision and ensuring our operations are robust, particularly in the development of our key programmes and IT platform.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic & Operational Leadership

· Lead the day-to-day running and strategic direction of the charity in line with the Board’s vision.

· Develop, manage, and oversee the charity's resources and workstreams.

· Ensure governance, compliance, and policies/procedures remain in good shape.

· Support the Board with fundraising strategy and financial accountability, including financial forecasting and reporting to funders.

2. Programme Management & Delivery

· Directly manage the Programme & Projects Manager and the Regional Event Leaders, and assist in the recruitment process for the newly established Volunteering Co-ordinator and the Wellbeing Coach/Coordinator roles. 

· Drive the delivery and expansion of our core programmes, including the Physical Activities (Walk & Talks, Sports Hubs), Volunteer Engagement, Community Partnerships and the Personal Wellbeing Plans (PWP)18.

· Develop and implement the Marauders Pathway Programme to establish a culture of good citizenship and peer support.

3. People & Volunteer Management

· Provide leadership, support, and development for staff, managing issues such as payroll, sickness, and holidays.

· Oversee the Volunteer Co-ordinator to develop a comprehensive volunteer management process, including recruitment, training, and 'Reward & Recognition’.

· Help inspire 100 men to give back to the community through volunteering.

4. Partnerships & IT Development

· Maintain and forge new community partnerships (e.g. with voluntary organisations, NGO’s, other charities and social enterprises) to enhance volunteering, education, and wellbeing services.

· Spearhead the development of our IT Platform, focusing on a robust website and a Beneficiary Management System (CRM) for efficient reporting, data capture, and engagement.

· Oversee digital marketing and communications, including newsletters and social media content.

We’re looking for a Principal Officer – Engagement to lead the development and delivery of SYMCA’s Engagement Strategy, embedding a culture of creative, inclusive, high-quality engagement across the organisation. You’ll coordinate engagement activities, manage engagement leads, and ensure that all engagement work aligns with the Mayor’s priorities and SYMCA’s strategic objectives. This is a senior role with significant influence—helping to build trust, strengthen relationships, and improve outcomes for South Yorkshire.

• Design and deliver a corporate engagement training programme to build internal capability and confidence.
• Design and deliver some engagement activities directly but chiefly provide consultancy and advice to the organisation on ethical and accessible engagement, ensuring compliance with best practice and legal standards.
• Collaborate with Bloomberg I-Team and Insights team to co-design innovative engagement and social research projects.
• Coordinate outreach and partnership working with key stakeholders including local authorities, MCAs, Government, VCSE, and universities.
• Convene and manage internal and external engagement networks to build organisational capacity and foster peer learning.
• Identify emerging trends and best practices in engagement, translating insights into strategic recommendations.

Grosvenor Chapel is a Chapel of Ease in the Ecclesiastical Parish of St George’s Hanover Square.

Located on South Audley Street in the heart of what is fondly referred to as the ‘Village of Mayfair’, the Chapel has been serving the community of Mayfair and beyond for almost three hundred years.

Over the last three years the Chapel has been going through a period of transition, renewal and growth. We currently have a modest annual income, which comes from regular giving, occasional donations, and the hiring out of our Chapel rooms and car bays, and are seeking an experienced Finance Officer to help with the day-to-day management of the Chapel’s finances.

Whilst some tasks are covered by existing staff, the Finance Officer will have responsibility for overseeing the Chapel’s accounting processes, monitoring income and expenditure, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, overseeing service cash collections and banking, completing the monthly reconciliations and preparation of financial reports, helping with any VAT and quarterly gift aid returns. The role will also be required to support the annual budgeting process, year-end audit and preparation of statutory accounts.

Most of the work will be expected to be completed remotely, with attendance in person on site at least once a month for meetings and other activities.

We are looking someone who will thrive in a varied and innovative role as a fixed-term Project Worker in the Adult and Family Learning team. You will be based at our Maryhill (Glasgow) centre with frequent travel to our centres in Govan and Craigmillar (Edinburgh). This is a role focused on how we can offer additional impactful support in the local communities in which our Scotland centres are based. The Adult and Family Learning team will work in close collaboration with colleagues at the Universities of Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The pilot will focus on supporting the parents, carers and families of young people accessing the centres, with the potential for this to extend to wider adults in the community. As a Project Worker you will deliver the programme and support the Adult and Family Learning Manager to plan and develop activities tailored according to and with an understanding of the different communities in which it will be offered.

Working with colleagues based at the three centres, you will provide a range of activities which will support parents and carers to support their children in their learning, develop their own skills and knowledge around employment and education, and provide a range of family learning activities to engage the whole family together.

Some out-of-hours work will be required from time to time. This is a new project and the team will be developing programmes for parents and carers, which may result, for example, in some workshops running during the evening for a set of period of time (with a later start on the day of the workshop).

Programme delivery staff are based at one of our IntoUniversity learning centres and work directly with young people and families on a regular basis. It is therefore not a hybrid role and is based full-time in our centres.

£28,250 per annum

This role will be based at intoUniversity Maryhill with frequent travel to our centre in Govan and Craigmillar (Edinburgh). 

Occasional travel out of your local area e.g. to London is also required, this may include overnight stays.

We are looking for an Individual Giving Lead who will manage our portfolio of online and offline direct marketing campaigns, leading the delivery of these from end to end. This will include our annual Big Give cash appeal and regular giving ‘Support the serving’ campaign along with line management of the Individual Giving Fundraiser.

RNRMC is the Navy’s principal charity which exists to support every sailor, marine and their families, for life. We do this by offering grants to and working with, other organisations to deliver programmes that meet the needs of our beneficiaries. We work hard, engaging with supporters to help raise awareness and funds to deliver the outcomes required for today and tomorrow. 

Experience and Background

You will have a minimum of two years’ experience in Individual Giving, with strong expertise in both Individual and Regular Giving programme development. You will be confident designing and delivering multichannel fundraising campaigns across email, social media, the website, and direct mail, and skilled in managing a campaign calendar from initial planning through to delivery and evaluation. Strong project planning, organisational and prioritisation skills are essential, along with proven experience working collaboratively across teams, particularly with Marketing and Communications.

You will bring experience in leading others, including setting SMART objectives, managing performance, and supporting staff development to enhance team capability. You will be able to lead a portfolio of individual and regular giving activities, ensuring targets are met and high-quality delivery is maintained. Your background will demonstrate a track record of guiding team members effectively, contributing to successful income generation and continuous improvement across fundraising programmes.

Hours of Work

Hours of work are 35 hours per week, 09:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday.

Salary

The annual salary range for the post is between £34,000 up to £37,000 per annum, depending upon experience.

The Head of Finance’s key priorities, in close collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team, are to lead and support the strategic and annual financial planning processes, and to prepare and analyse accurate and timely financial information for the Board of Trustees and the Directors of the Trading Company, ensuring compliance with all external financial reporting requirements.

Main Duties:

1. To provide an effective and accurate financial management and accountancy service to the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company.

2.   Prepare annual budgets and monitor performance on a monthly basis against plan by the preparation and issue of monthly budget statements.  Make recommendations on costing assumptions to be included within all budgets. For example, inflation rates.

3. Support the strategic direction of the business by leading on the preparation of 5 year financial forecasts to support strategic planning and to ensure the long term financial viability of the business. 

4.   Prepare and maintain financial accounts in a timely fashion and ensure they are consistent with external financial reporting standards and requirements.

5.  Provide monthly financial information to the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company.

6. Prepare cash flow reports on a regular/quarterly basis and monitor cash requirements and advise the Board of Trustees, Directors of the Trading Company and Executive Leadership Team on the liquidity position of the business.

7.  Provide advice on all financial matters, including issues arising in connection with charity legislation, to ensure that the business meets its legal financial obligations and complies will all external regulatory requirements.

 8. Liaise with H.M. Revenue and Customs and VAT consultants regarding records and payments and ensure compliance with all regulations.   

9. Ensure the provision of a monthly payroll service and ensure delivery of an accurate, reliable and quality payroll service to all staff.

10. To liaise with all regulatory external bodies in connection with any financial or charity matters, i.e. auditors, accountants, bank, solicitors, Charity Commission, Companies House, insurance company, pension advisors and others.

11. Annual completion of the Charity Commission self-assessment, ensuring that we comply with best practice. 

12. Attend the meetings of the local networking groups as required.

13. Review and monitor performance of the business’s investments and provide up to date reports to the Board of Trustees, enabling them to make appropriate investment decisions.

14. As part of financial reporting, complete regular analysis of all income and expenditure, supporting budget holders as required to identify areas where cost savings and efficiencies can be made.

15. Support in the preparation of business cases as necessary across the business.

16. Support in the preparation of benchmarking information to assist in the determination of opportunities to improve the organisation’s financial position.

17. Support the business’s efforts to maximise income from all sources providing financial information and attending committees and other forums as required to assist in this.

18. Develop and maintain an asset register of all property across the business. Ensure capital accounting policies are agreed annually by the Finance Committee. 

19. Ensure appropriate financial procedures, financial governance and policies are in place across the business and ensure they are regularly reviewed and appropriate. 

 20. Ensure good systems of financial control and checks are in place for all assets. 

21.To manage and support staff in the Finance Department, ensuring they have the right knowledge and skills to carry out their duties effectively.

22. Ensure that all members of the leadership team (ELT and SLT) and the board have the necessary knowledge and support regarding financial matters including the provision of training if necessary.

23. Attend committees and key meetings  to present relevant financial information at the request of the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company.

 Performance Standards:

1. Annual income and expenditure budgets are approved annually and monitored monthly.

2. Management Accounts are aimed to be completed within 10 working days of month end and available for the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company.

3. Regulatory requirements are met as and when they fall due.

4. The provision of an accurate and reliable set of annual financial statements.

5. Meet with statutory and external organisations in a timely and professional manner.

6. Quarterly VAT returns, Annual Corporation Tax returns and other statutory returns are submitted in a timely manner.

7. With regard to financial records and reporting, to comply with and meet the standards of the Care Quality Commission.

8. Completion of all Charity Commission regulatory requirements.

9. Ensure that we have robust financial systems in place for all assets and liabilities incorporating monthly reviews of creditors and debtors.

10.  Ensure financial information requirements of the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company are met in a timely manner. 

11. Ensure that the business has financial systems and processes in place that will comply with regulatory requirements for healthcare services. 

12. Be an active member of the Senior Leadership Team participating in all relevant meetings contributing where possible, to the achievement of business objectives.

13. To take rotational responsibility as Out of Hours Duty Manager, if required.

14. Provide advice, support and information to the Executive Leadership Team; Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company on financial matters enabling the business to meet its objectives.

General Duties:

1. To liaise with Head of Human Resources to advise, where necessary, on all salary and pension matters, keeping up to date with changing legislation.

2. To communicate with the banks, HMRC, Department of Work and Pensions and all other relevant external bodies regarding all pension, tax and National Insurance issues.

3. To liaise with all Senior Leadership team colleagues to ensure payroll data is accurate and kept up to date.

4. To liaise with the Head of Fundraising in matters relating to fundraising income and expenditure and the fundraising and lottery database, ensuring that any information is an accurate reflection of income and expenditure.

5. To liaise with the Head of Retail in matters relating to the trading company’s income and expenditure, ensuring that all information provided is accurate.

6. To verify that insurance cover is appropriate and adequate for the various business functions and to ensure that it is kept up to date.

7. To ensure that there is compliance across the business with financial statutory regulations and internal financial policies.

8. Ensure that there is a robust information governance regime across all financial matters across the business.

9. To undertake and manage the annual appraisal process for the Finance Team, identifying any training and development needs.

10.  Ensure that all members of the Finance Team attend mandatory and statutory training as required and that evaluations are undertaken to monitor effectiveness.

11. The post holder will adhere to all relevant legislation and policies of the business.

12.  Any other reasonable duties as directed by the Executive Leadership Team, the Boarof Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company.
