We are looking for a new Finance Manager to be responsible for the effective day-to-day financial management of the charity supporting the CEO with the Finance Strategy.

She will be driven, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements including the Charity Commission and Charity SORP (FRS 102).

She will work closely with the CEO, SMT and Trustees and she will provide clear, timely financial information to support sound operational and strategic decision-making and help ensure the long-term sustainability of the organisation.

Working closely with Tusk’s US Development Executive from Tusk’s UK office, the "US Philanthropy Officer" position supports a broad range of fundraising initiatives, from major gifts and annual giving to corporate partnerships, foundation grants and especially events. This is an exciting opportunity to help advance Tusk’s mission by strengthening donor relationships, driving fundraising pipelines, and enhancing our US development efforts.

The US Philanthropy Officer will help identify and research prospects, support cultivation and solicitation strategies, and ensure thoughtful, timely stewardship for all supporters. The role will manage donor records and reporting through Salesforce, prepare acknowledgment letters, assist with events, and coordinate donor communications.

The successful candidate will come to the position with a proven track record in fundraising and strong administrative and organisational skills. This is a full-time role with the possibility of some working from home following your successful probation. The role will be based in the UK and will require some travel within the UK and occasionally to the US.

Community Zakat Development Manager (UK Islamic Charity)

In this role, you will build and support a network of Community Zakat Partners, primarily masjids and faith-based community centres/groups, ensuring each partnership is values-led, compliant and effective.

Key Responsibilities

Identify, engage and support prospective Community Zakat Partners, with a focus on masjids and faith-based community organisations.

Lead partner onboarding, agreements and due diligence, working closely with Quality Assurance and Finance colleagues.

Maintain oversight of partnership performance, compliance and risk, coordinating reviews, monitoring and any required audits.

The Candidate

Minimum three years’ experience in partnership or stakeholder management, ideally within the charity, community or public sector.

Proven ability to manage agreements and deliver against objectives, with strong governance, compliance and reporting discipline.

Excellent relationship-building, communication and negotiation skills; confident engaging senior volunteers and faith leaders.

Experience supervising or line managing staff, with a collaborative and accountable approach.

Desirable: experience working with Muslim communities and an understanding of Zakat in a UK context.

Role description / person specification:

You would undertake research to identify new potential funding partners, write grant applications, and manage successful partnerships. You would write project funding proposals primarily to trusts and foundations, corporate foundations, and statutory sources. Some charity-sector fundraising experience is desirable. Experience in fundraising from trusts / foundations in particular would be an advantage. The ability to draft inspiring narratives for different audiences is a crucial aspect of this role. You must also be comfortable using spreadsheets and have strong attention to detail, as you would be working with project budgets. You would research and attend relevant events and identify other such opportunities to promote Pragya’s work, to network, and to learn about the latest research and trends in international development. You would contribute to Pragya’s social media posts and campaigns. A basic level of knowledge about video editing and media tools like Canva would be an advantage.

The UK branch of Pragya is a small team, and so you must be capable of using your initiative and managing your own workload. You would need to prioritise your commitments and work to deadlines as needed. You would contribute to the charity’s administrative needs.

This is a role that demands commitment and offers strong career development in the international development sector. Role

The Programme Officer will manage day-to-day relationships with Degrees’ research groups based in the Latin America and Caribbean region, ensure smooth grant administration, and support regional events.

Key Responsibilites

Grantees

• Being the first point of contact for our grantees and stakeholders, including volunteer research collaborators. 
• Supporting research teams to gain access to, for example, modelling data. 

Grant management 

• Grant management, including onboarding and ongoing administrative support for the grantees of the various research funds at Degrees. 
• Processing payments.  
• Supporting the monitoring, evaluation and learning process in relation to programmatic activities. 

Events

• Working closely with the Events Manager, other regional Programme Officers and Policy Engagement staff to organise international events, including regional workshops in Latin America and the Caribbean.  

Administration

• Support the building and improvement of internal processes. 
• Contributing to the monthly call and research seminars. 
• Provide ad-hoc support as needed, for example, financial administrative support for grants and programmatic events, note-taking, organising travel, inputs to communications, working with Degrees’ senior management, board, volunteers, and partners. 

Key relationships

• Within the Programmes team forge close working relations with Programmes Director, Programmes Manager, other Programme Officers, Events Manager, Staff Scientist and Scientific Writing and Publishing Lead.
• Develop strong working relations with colleagues from the following teams i) Operations, ii) Policy & Engagement and iii) Communications. 
• Provide ongoing support for Degrees funded scientists based in Latin America and the Caribbean. 

Qualifications

We are seeking a dynamic self-starter based in the UK, with experience in planning and running international events as well as academic workshops. As Degrees is still operating as a relatively small but growing team, the successful candidate will be flexible and motivated – prepared to turn their hand to whatever needs doing to deliver Degrees’ programme of work.

Team: Fundraising and Supporter Engagement, Philanthropy and Partnerships team 

As the Senior Philanthropy Officer, you will join a motivated, passionate and supportive fundraising team. You will work closely with specialists across all areas of fundraising and, supported by our Philanthropy Manager, you will take the lead on managing relationships with high value funders who support the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust. 

In this role, you will lead on developing strong strategic relationships with Trusts and Foundations and high value supporters. You will create clear and engaging funding proposals, that involve multiple stakeholders and deliver face-to-face presentations when required. A key part of your work will be developing relationship building strategies and creating tailored funder experiences. 

Your contribution will help secure long-term funding and strengthen the impact of the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust.  

What You’ll Be Doing 

• Lead the stewardship of high value funders and provide clear, consistent and meaningful engagement.
• Develop and manage strategic relationships with major Trusts and Foundations to build long-term partnerships.
• Lead on securing significant grant income by creating compelling proposals at the five and six figure level.
• Carry out proactive prospect research to identify new funding opportunities and strengthen the funding pipeline.

About the Role

The role sits in the Strategic Operations in the International Operations Department, which plays a critical role in the management of our largest and most complex program to ensure it is positioned to deliver results, drive growth with excellence, committed to implementing best practices at scale, while simultaneously adhering to core programmatic and operational standards. About Merchant Taylors’ Boones Charity (MTBC)

MTBC is a charitable arm of the Merchant Taylors’ Company, with a vision to be a long term provider of high quality almshouses in the Borough of Lewisham that improves lives across the generations.

Almshouse dwellings for ‘low needs’ young people affected by homeless – this Youth Almshouses project is at the business planning phase, with the accommodation due to open in a few years’ time. The current proposal is that MTBC will build the accommodation and an experienced Partner Charity will manage it under a lease.

Independent living almshouse flats for people aged 57+ in financial need: Christopher Boone’s Court - MTBC has 34 flats in this luxurious new development, leased from One Housing Group. The remaining flats are owned by One Housing Group’s private tenants in the same age range.

Overview of role:

The postholder leads the development of policy on issues such as independent living and financial subsidy to make a positive difference to the lives of older people in financial hardship at our site in Lewisham. The postholder manages operations at that site, with an emphasis on efficient systems.

The postholder is part of the small team responsible for developing our project to house young people, being versatile about the tasks they undertake to bring this complex and exciting project to fruition.

The postholder is the lead staff member reporting to the Housing and Care Committee on the resident-related issues in our provision of almshouse accommodation. The post holder leads on fulfilling MTBC’s obligations to regulatory bodies such as the Charity Commission and Regulator of Social Housing.

Responsibilities and Duties

Youth Almshouses project: planning phase

[This phase has already started. There is a separate section of this Job Description relating to once construction has finished, estimated to be 2028]

Contributes to all aspects of the planning phase of the Youth Almshouses project and building relationships with key third parties. Non-exhaustive examples of milestones due in this phase for the project team to which this role belongs are:

o Agreeing appropriate business model and site design with the Partner Charity

o Conclusive professional advice on all aspects

o Concluding legal agreements with the Partner Charity

o Any regulatory issues concluded

o Planning permission granted

o Publicity

o Contracts in place with all parties relevant to construction

Management of the charity

• Presents information to assist decision-making, for example written reports and analysis of financial data for the trustees
• Manages MTBC’s affairs at Christopher Boone’s Court

Finance, Legal and Governance

• Leads on all financial matters affecting our residents at Christopher Boone’s Court.
• Completes annual returns to regulatory bodies
• Contributes to business continuity plan, review of relevant policies, preparation of MTBC’s annual report and accounts, budgeting cycle and monitoring performance against budget.

Promotes a ‘data protection by design’ approach to ensure that MTBC is compliant with data protection principles.

Policy, Development and Improvement

• Leads policy development on independent living, financial subsidy of residents, and any other relevant policy issues relating to residents of Christopher Boone’s Court or the planned youth accommodation.
• Keeps up to date with regulatory changes and best practice learning relevant to almshouse charities which are Registered Providers of Social Housing
• Drives forward change to reflect that learning, for the benefit of MTBC.

Information Technology and Residents

Encourages and develops the use and availability of technology to make residents at Christopher Boone’s Court confident with accessing online services.

Communications

Writes communications about MTBC and its activities for a wide variety of stakeholders.

Property Management

Arranges any repairs/maintenance at Christopher Boone’s Court which are MTBC’s responsibility.

Monitors whether One Housing Group and MTBC’s tenant at Archbishop Coggan House are carrying out all tests required by statute or lease obligations. Reports non-compliance and any unsatisfactory test results to the Company Surveyor’s team.

Assists the Company Surveyor’s team in arrangements for long term planned maintenance at the Youth Almshouses.

MTBC residents at Christopher Boone’s Court

• Leads strategy and implements all communications, arrangements and process to ensure MTBC’s almshouse flats are occupied
• Establishes an efficient system for monitoring residents’ ability to live independently
• Leads on operating all policies relating to residents’ behaviour (eg Anti-Social Behaviour)
• Drives forward and resolves ‘pastoral’ cases with a proportionate approach
• Assists in dealing with safeguarding cases in accordance with protocols
•  Leads on ending individual residents’ rights to live at Christopher Boone’s Court, through the appropriate internal and court processes, including instructing lawyers.
• Ensures that an ARC concessionary TV licence is in force for MTBC residents at Christopher Boone’s Court.
• Organises traditional annual events involving the Merchant Taylors’ Company.

Relationships with third parties

Christopher Boone’s Court:

• Ensures that One Housing Group and any other relationship partners meet agreed performance levels/contractual responsibilities to MTBC.
• Works proactively with One Housing Group to promote a cohesive, empowered community of residents at Christopher Boone’s Court, ensuring as far as reasonably possible that there is a common and consistent approach to MTBC and non-MTBC residents, and common opportunities for them.

Youth Almshouses after construction has finished (est. 2028):

• Acts as the key point of contact between the Partner Charity managing the accommodation, Merchant Taylors’ and its Client Project Manager, leading on operational issues.
• Notifies all construction latent defects to MTBC’s Client Project Manager.
• Leads on the Partner Charity’s performance level against the lease and service agreement.
• Assists as required in procuring periodic renewal and/or re-negotiation of lease and service agreement between MTBC and the Partner Charity, or a new lease and agreement with a replacement Partner Charity

About the role

We are excited to be recruiting a Technical Project Manager to join our Technology directorate on a 12-month fixed term maternity cover contract.

As part of the Business Systems Improvement team, this role will lead the technical delivery of key transformation initiatives across WWF-UK. You will play a central role in delivering our Digital Experience programme, including consolidating websites and replacing our content management system, ensuring we have a modern, effective and user-centred digital ecosystem.

Alongside this, you will project manage the implementation of other system improvement projects, delivering solutions that support our Conservation, Finance and Fundraising teams to work more efficiently and effectively.

This role requires strong technical project management capability across the full lifecycle, from supplier onboarding and planning through to go-live, embedding and post-implementation support. You will work closely with delivery partners, internal stakeholders and governance forums to ensure projects are delivered to scope, budget and timeline.

You will be confident operating within both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and experienced in using tools such as Azure DevOps, MS Project or Asana to manage plans, risks and deliverables. You will also understand that successful delivery is not only about systems, but about people, adoption and sustainable change.
