About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced research and insight professional to help shape how we use evidence to drive real and tangible change for people affected by breast cancer. With 1 in 7 women developing breast cancer in their lifetime, the insights you generate and coordinate will help us make impactful decisions that will help to change the course of breast cancer, and the lives of people affected.
Sitting in our impact, strategy and innovation team, you’ll play a key role in supporting major strategic programmes. You’ll have dedicated time to lead cross organisational discovery work, guide teams through what the evidence is telling us, and help turn insight into clear recommendations that support meaningful organisational change.
You’ll also support colleagues across the charity with their insight needs - joining the dots across teams, spotting gaps, sharing best practice, and helping build an organisational culture that confidently uses insight in everyday work.
Day to day, this means you might be leading on one of our core organisational insight products (like the Breast Cancer Compendium), coordinating evidence across teams, supporting commissioned research, or helping turn emerging insights into practical next steps. It’s a varied role, balancing longer-term strategic insight projects with timely responses to evolving needs.
About you
We’re looking for someone with strong experience in research and insight, confident working with different types of evidence - from data and literature to lived experience. You’ll be skilled at distilling complex information and turning it into clear, actionable insight that helps teams understand what to do next, and you’ll be comfortable using digital research tools – bringing curiosity about emerging technologies that can help us work more efficiently and inclusively.
You’ll enjoy working collaboratively with a wide range of colleagues across policy, influencing, public health, research, support services, nursing, and more. You should feel comfortable facilitating conversations, presenting evidence and findings to a range of audiences including senior stakeholders. You’ll help colleagues move from insight to action - supporting them to understand what the evidence means and how it should shape their decisions and strategies.
You’ll also be able to take a step back and look at the bigger picture - spotting patterns, identifying gaps and opportunities. You’ll play a central role in helping us strengthen our organisational insight culture, supporting teams to use evidence confidently in their day‑to‑day decisions. Most importantly, you’ll be motivated by the opportunity to use your expertise to make a real difference to people affected by breast cancer.

Steel Warriors was established in 2017 to rethink how knife crime is tackled by turning a symbol of violence into one of strength and resilience. We transform the lives of marginalised young people by recycling knives seized by the police into outdoor calisthenics gyms and create positive change in communities. We provide classes at our five outdoor gyms across – Lambeth, Tower Hamlets, Newham, Haringey and Enfield – and deliver programmes in schools (including pupil referral units), youth and sport clubs, and in Brixton Prison. Our coach mentors deliver high quality, inclusive calisthenics sessions alongside mentoring and employability sessions
The Head of Programmes and Safeguarding role combines strategic leadership with strong operational oversight. The postholder is responsible for leading the design, development and scaling of high-quality services, supporting their team to perform effectively, and ensuring that programmes deliver meaningful outcomes for participants. They will work closely with colleagues, delivery partners, funders, young people and board members to drive programme development aligned with the organisation’s strategy, theory of change and ultimate goal of young people being safer, healthier and feeling more connected and positive about the future. Job Purpose
The Head of Retail will provide strategic leadership and expert insight to review, strengthen and evolve Alder Hey Children’s Charity’s retail operation during a six-month period of strategic development.
Working closely with the Director of Operations & People, the postholder will undertake a comprehensive review of the charity’s retail portfolio, identifying opportunities to maximise income, improve operational effectiveness and enhance supporter engagement.
The role will assess the current retail model, including shop performance, operational structures, processes and growth opportunities, and develop clear recommendations and a practical roadmap for the future development of retail income at Alder Hey Children’s Charity.

What the job involves
As our Senior People Services Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day heartbeat of People Services and make sure every colleague has a smooth, supportive and high-quality experience throughout their time with us.
You’ll be the person who keeps things running brilliantly: setting the pace for operational delivery, supporting managers with confidence, and making sure our processes are simple, clear and compliant – ensuring delivery through an experienced and high-performing People Services Team. This is a hands-on leadership role partnering with People & Culture leadership and peers to drive the People Strategy and foster a high-performance, inclusive culture. Our remit includes delivering our own independent research projects and piloting community-led initiatives, alongside managing approximately £2 million in annual grant funding. You will also help strengthen links between discovery and translational research, support the development of new EDI initiatives, and build connections between academic research and our Prostate Progress data platform.

Skills and Competencies
Our ideal candidate would have the following:
- A strong belief in the value and potential of science (essential)

- Experience managing research grants from application to closure, including financial and operational decision-making
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- An understanding of social science research methodologies
- Experience of EDI-focused initiatives or community engagement

This is a pivotal role at an exciting point in the development of our training and consultancy function. We are looking for someone who can build on the strong foundations already in place and take the function into its next phase - growing reach, strengthening quality, deepening partnerships and scaling delivery through a high-quality blended model that combines NAPAC’s external trainer network with our internal expertise.

As Head of Strategic Litigation, you will oversee and carry out CPAG’s work using legal cases for positive impact, to benefit families and children in poverty. The ideal candidate will be a solicitor (E&W qualified) with substantial post-qualification experience. You will have experience of conducting public law litigation and legal aid (publicly funded) work. You will be able to supervise the casework of colleagues, such as CPAG’s junior or trainee solicitor(s) and welfare benefit advisers, and support the professional development and wellbeing of your team. You may have experience of working with clients in vulnerable situations or with additional needs, for example, survivors of domestic abuse, refugees, disabled people or children and young people.
