The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) is seeking a strategic and analytical Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager to play a pivotal role in supporting the College’s mission to improve child health by ensuring effective financial planning, reporting, and business partnering across the organisation.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will lead on the annual budgeting and forecasting process, produce regular financial performance reports, and develop financial models to support key strategic decisions. You will ensure that the College’s leadership has access to clear, insightful analysis to guide financial and operational planning.

You will foster a culture of effective business partnering, providing expert financial advice and support to budget holders and colleagues across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the annual budgeting process and developing regular reforecasts in alignment with the College’s strategic priorities
• Producing timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and analysis
• Developing financial models to support key strategic and operational decisions
• Providing financial insight and advice to senior leadership and budget holders to support informed decision-making
• Line managing and developing the Finance Analyst, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability and continuous improvement
• Ensuring the integrity of financial information through robust processes, controls, and analytical review
• Partnering with the Financial Controller to support compliance, audit preparation, and financial controls
• Supporting finance system development and the use of tools such as Power BI for enhanced reporting

Essential skills and experience include:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
• Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in financial management roles
• Strong analytical skills and ability to provide clear, actionable insights
• Proven experience of leading budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting processes
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Advanced Excel skills and experience of financial modelling

In this key role you will be responsible for assisting the Senior Negotiating Officer to manage and support our stewards, safety and equality representative networks across North London, supporting them in providing individual and collective industrial relations support to members, working both in and outside of the NHS. You will also be expected to spend approximately 25% of your time, managing cases from across the UK, but predominantly from nearby regions.

You will work in collaboration with other health trade unions across the region.

You will work with the CSP regional team to recruit and organise members, influence on local workforce issues and promote physiotherapy.

You will provide representation for members at disciplinary hearings, grievances and disputes with employers, and provide general advice and information to representatives and members on issues such as pay, terms and conditions, and employment legislation.

With significant trade union experience at a senior level, and an understanding of NHS structures and government policy on health, you will have excellent communication, negotiation, training and presentational skills, combined with a strong collaborative approach and a thorough understanding of, and commitment to, equality and diversity principles and the ability to put them into practice.

Reporting up to the Health Information, Policy and Research Manager, your role will involve the scoping and mapping of the charity's current policy work, the policy landscape and potential opportunities, working collaboratively internally to develop a prioritised policy plan. You will ensure that the charity's policy work, and key updates in the policy landscape are effectively communicated with the lupus community, including producing and disseminating articles, press releases, social media posts, and other material as appropriate. You will provide regular organisation-wide briefings to ensure that colleagues are aware of key policy positions, arguments and evidence, and will develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including people with lived experience of lupus, other patient and advocacy organisations, clinicians and researchers, and government bodies.

In this exciting role, you will work with a wide range of mental health practitioners, partner providers and referrers to develop and grow our mental health workforce in Kent and Medway. You will be responsible for supporting the development of Step 2 and Step 3 (where appropriate) Talking Therapy services in line with local needs and contractual specification. As a Manager, you will effectively support and line manage a team of Step 2 or Step 3 Talking Therapies staff to deliver WithYou’s strategic objectives and support them with developing their performance in their clinical work.

We offer remote working however travel within Kent and London for meetings and events may be required.

About PVRI

PVRI is a small charity with a global reach. Our aim is to reduce the global burden of Pulmonary Vascular Disease with a particular focus on Pulmonary Hypertension (PH).

PH is a life-threatening and life-limiting condition that affects millions worldwide, but despite that, it isn’t widely recognised or well-understood. To change that, we bring together a fantastic network of many hundreds of PH doctors, academics, patients, and industry partners to identify and address the key global challenges in PH. In practical terms, we:

• Host international scientific conferences
• Produce an open-access peer reviewed academic journal, Pulmonary Circulation
• Run webinars and e-learning programmes
• Bring our members and networks together in over twenty working forums:
  • The Innovative Drug Development Initiative (IDDI): eight multidisciplinary workstreams working to solve the challenges in PVD research and speed the development of new treatment
  • Specialty Task Forces: groups working to advance understanding and improve practice in specific clinical areas of PH
  • Regional Task Forces: working in-country to address the key regional and national challenges in PH

· Raise awareness of PH and advocate for better access to diagnosis, care and treatment - nationally and internationally

We’re London-based, and our small friendly staff team comprises our CEO Karen, Head of Operations & Impact Elvia, Head of Comms Debs, Marketing Officer Catherine, Project Coordinator Rachel and Admin Manager Katie. We work a flexible hybrid model, with office space in Work.Life, close to London Bridge and Borough Market. Our preference is for our new Advocacy & Engagement Lead to spend at least 1 day a week working from our office, but we are open to other options, and this can be discussed during the application process.

About the Advocacy & Engagement Lead (Global Health)

As Advocacy and Engagement Lead, you will be the bridge between our global professional network and local healthcare systems. You will scope areas of need, and work with key regional stakeholders to develop and implement plans for new PH services.

Key tasks include

· Developing roadmaps and care guidelines for the development of PH services in underserved regions

· Working directly with local healthcare leaders and PVRI Workstream and Task Forces to understand and navigate local health systems, influence policy and identify resources

· Supporting with targeted advocacy messages and global PH data including prevalence, health economics, etc.

This is an exciting new post, reporting to our Head of Operations & Impact.

If the 2-year pilot is successful, we hope to make this work a permanent part of our global operations.

Working base(s): HQ The Rufus Centre, Steppingley Road, Flitwick MK45 1AH (Wednesday – admin base) and 2 days per week onsite in: Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join our Central Bedfordshire mental health recovery and prevention service which covers Ampthill/Flitwick, Biggleswade, Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard.

As a Community Wellbeing Navigator you will be at the heart of the recovery service, delivering all aspects of the service, building positive relationships with those using the service and strong links into the wider community services within Central Bedfordshire.

You will offer focussed 1-2-1 support where needed, to assist people to navigate through the range of other services within the community. You will offer guidance and information that reduces the chance that people will fall through gaps or continue to be isolated and disconnected from their communities, ensuring the right support and the right time that manages a range of needs.

You will also deliver group wellbeing sessions and facilitate drop-in sessions that provide a safe environment for service users to talk openly and develop practical tools, techniques and coping strategies in order to manage their own wellbeing.

In addition, you will assess individuals’ suitability for the service and signpost where necessary. There will also be opportunity to support events in the community to raise awareness of our services and build links with local organisations.

You will need to be empathetic and deliver a person-centred approach in a non-judgemental way, collaborating with people to empower and engage them.

Service Delivery

• Work within the mental health recovery service across localities in Central Bedfordshire, ensuring outcomes that support individuals with mental health and wellbeing needs in line with both Mind BLMK’s agreed recovery model and requirements and funders contract requirements and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
• Carry out assessments on individuals’ suitability for the service in line with the Access to Service processes and procedures and the needs, priorities and support required by the individual.
• Undertake 1-2-1 support with individuals which enables them to explore the situation affecting their mental health and wellbeing and work with them to co-produce a personalised support plan based on their needs, goals and wishes.
• Offer personalised support and information with the aim of building skills, confidence, resilience and knowledge of tools, techniques and wider resources including linking people to the range of community support services and activities available and seeking solutions to any barriers to access.
• Deliver and facilitate groups, both face to face and online. This includes topic and session planning, facilitating informal drop in and discussions and supporting service users to gain practical tools and techniques to support their wellbeing and learn new coping strategies.
• Encourage and support client engagement with Mind BLMK through Guarantor Membership and other opportunities available through Influence and Participation.
• Identify and assist with the development of service uses to deliver peer lead groups using their specialisms and interests.
• Carry out health and safety responsibilities as directed by Managers in line with Mind BLMK’s H&S policies, procedures, and guidance (risk assessments, reviews, reporting, safeguarding, incidents/accidents, premises).

About this role: Based in Higher Openshaw, East Manchester, Justlife currently works across Manchester and Tameside providing one-to-one key work support to empower vulnerable adults housed in temporary accommodation (TA) to move towards more secure housing, independent living and improved health and wellbeing. The role of Specialist Support Worker involves playing an active part in the Specialist Support Team by supporting a caseload of clients that are experiencing housing vulnerability and taking part in regular outreach visits to TA’s across Greater Manchester on the Justlife minibus. The role requires the use of specialist knowledge and relationship skills to support clients with varying degrees of mental and physical health, addiction and trauma related issues to engage with health services and to access suitable housing solutions. The Specialist Support Worker is also expected to develop good working relationships with TA Landlords and Managers recognising the important role that they play in ensuring that their tenants experience of TA is as positive as possible. This will include advocacy in registering them for medical services and accompanying them to appointments, assisting them in addressing all aspects of physical and mental health and addiction needs, as well as advocating for them to get access to suitable housing and social security benefits. The role is dependent on excellent communication and collaborative working with colleagues and a variety of partners and professionals, including the Probation Service, local council services and other third sector organisations. The role requires a high degree of motivation in addition to creativity and flexibility to support people with multiple and compound needs. With a passion to work collaboratively with others for the good of our clients, and with experience of working in a related field in a voluntary or paid capacity. A high degree of emotional intelligence is required to support clients, many of whom have complex emotional needs, with backgrounds of trauma, neglect, abuse and involvement in the criminal justice system. In a role of this nature you will experience a range of emotions from joy to grief and as such it requires a high degree of resilience and self-awareness to cope with the emotional demands of the role. The role sits within a highly supportive team with all staff in receipt of regular line management and external clinical supervision; with reflective practice actively encouraged in team meetings.
