Brief role description

The NST Client Advisor plays a key role in the NOVA Support Team, acting as the first point of contact for veterans who have served in the UK armed forces and are at risk of, or are involved in, the criminal justice system. They provide timely initial advice, guidance and support, assess individual needs and connect veterans to appropriate services.

The role includes receiving and triaging referrals, making prompt first contact, completing initial registrations and maintaining accurate and detailed records on the case management system to support effective casework.

We are seeking a compassionate and people-focused individual who can build trust and communicate clearly while supporting veterans with a range of complex needs.

You will have experience and guiding and supporting individuals with strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to provide accurate advice and direction. You will also be highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple cases effectively while handling sensitive information with professionalism and care.

You will be proactive, IT confident and able to work both independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will also bring an understanding of the justice system, experience using Salesforce, or a similar CRM system, and a resilient, adaptable approach.

Brief role description

The young people programme supports young people from Forces families aged 16 to 24, particularly those who are disadvantaged, affected by mobility, at risk of becoming NEET or who have Special Educational Needs (SEN). The programme aims to broaden horizons, raise aspirations and build skills and confidence. It connects young people with meaningful employment opportunities through a combination of one-to-one mentoring and employment support, group workshops, employer events, digital training, work experience and apprenticeships. 

As part of a small team, the Education and Skills Liaison will lead on engaging, developing and managing relationships with schools, youth and community groups, military charities, the MOD Education Team, the SCiP Alliance, Families Federations, HIVE and other key stakeholders to advocate for children and young people from Forces families.

Who we're looking for

We are looking for someone with a background in education and/or experience supporting young people to overcome challenges. You will have experience in a customer-focused environment and a track record of delivering to SLAs. You will also be a strong collaborator and team player, with demonstrable influencing skills and coaching or mentoring experience. 

You will be a self-starter with confidence to use your own initiative and a passion for supporting the Armed Forces community. You will have an understanding of the challenges faced by forces families in finding appropriate and sustainable employment. In addition, you will have strong operational and administrative skills, knowledge of GDPR and experience using CRMs. 

The ideal candidate will have lived experience of the Armed Forces lifestyle, a background in secondary or further education and a NVQ Level 6 in Advice, Information and Guidance.

This position is remote; however, candidates must be based in Hampshire to support local engagement activities and demonstrate knowledge of regional authorities and organisations.

The Role

Safeguarding Support Officer (6-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

We are looking for a Safeguarding Support Officer to join our Safeguarding Team on a 6-month fixed-term contract to support the delivery of Safe Scouting across the UK.

In this role, you will receive and respond to safeguarding enquiries and referrals, accurately record information, and complete a range of vetting tasks to support effective safeguarding processes. You'll need excellent customer service skills, some safeguarding experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to learn new systems quickly while managing a varied workload in a fast-paced environment.

The role is based at Gilwell Park. Your first two weeks will be office-based for induction, after which you'll work on a hybrid basis with a minimum of one day per week in the office.

As our Safeguarding Support Officer, the Key responsibilities are:

• Provide significant administrative support to the Safeguarding and Vetting team.
• Respond positively and effectively to routine queries received by the Safeguarding and Vetting team [by phone, letter or email].
• Ensure that the Safeguarding and Vetting Officers are supported in the management of their casework
• Responsibility for first incident calls referring to the Duty Officers as appropriate.
• Establish and maintain a Safeguarding and Vetting casework database and records system.

Main Purpose of the Post

The Chief Executive will have overall responsibility for all aspects of the day to day running of the RLSS and all its services. Key Duties and Responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership and Governance

· Provide visible, ambitious, and focused leadership of the RLSS.

· Be overall responsible for the management of the RLSS working in conjunction with the Chair and Directors to provide leadership.

· Lead and contribute to the Board’s overall development of the strategy and annual plans to ensure achievement of a One Church approach to applying the Church’s safeguarding standards.

· Ensure risks to the overall objectives of the RLSS are identified, mitigated, and reported to the Board.

· Develop a culture of resilience, adaptability, and continuous learning within the organization to navigate challenges and maintain trust among victims/survivors and members.

· Develop and promote services and practice improvements which are designed to mitigate risk and improve understanding within safeguarding.

· Effectively sustain a culture that consistently meets the needs of and engages with victim/survivors and with Religious.

· Ensure the RLSS meets it statutory, legal, and regulatory obligations.

Collaboration/Networks.

· Contribute to strategic level initiatives with key partners, particularly the Catholic Safeguarding Standards Agency (CSSA) and relevant statutory agencies, to ensure joint planning, access to resources and the development of interagency strategies.

· Build strong and dynamic relationships and networks within and outside the Church to deliver better outcomes for Religious in safeguarding.

Policy and Procedure

· Ensure a robust and up to date Policy & Procedure framework approved by the Board is in place including HR, Health and Safety, Data Protection and operational delivery.

· Ensure there is a system in place to review approved policies and procedures to ensure that substantial changes or additions are brought to the Board for decision.

· Undertake operating compliance exercises including annual risk assessments, health and safety checks and reporting on incidents and near misses.

· In conjunction with the Board of Directors, develop a long-term funding strategy, including gathering data, completing research, developing models to ensure the service is cost effective.

· Agree and deliver to budget maintaining a reserve level in line with policy and monitor all budgets and provide financial reports to the Board of Directors.

· Be responsible and accountable for all finances and resources within the teams, ensuring value for money, the avoidance of waste, and the efficient and effective use of all resources.

About the role

The Cloud Systems Engineer is responsible for leading the management, optimisation and security of CARE International UK’s cloud infrastructure and enterprise systems. The role focuses on maintaining highly available and secure platforms, supporting infrastructure transformation and cloud migration activity, and ensuring effective administration of core services including Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows and Linux servers, identity services, networking, backup and disaster recovery. The postholder will work closely with the IT Manager, wider IT team and key stakeholders across the organisation, while also supporting projects, change management and technical planning.

The role requires strong technical knowledge across cloud platforms, systems administration, security and infrastructure support, alongside excellent analytical and problem-solving ability. You will need to be confident managing complex environments, improving performance through automation and standardisation, and responding effectively to incidents and vulnerabilities. Success in the role will also depend on your ability to communicate clearly, lead troubleshooting, mentor junior colleagues and take a proactive, security-first approach to continuous improvement.

About this role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Philanthropy Assistant to join the Charity team here at Alder Hey, the UK’s busiest Children’s Hospital.

The postholder will work closely with the Philanthropy Support Lead to provide operational support and administration for the team, including events, donor meetings and visits, mailings, prospect research, data and use of the charity CRM (Salesforce).

Key Responsibilities will include:

Events 

• Support the delivery of events; from individual visits and tours of the hospital for donors, private dinners, through to larger events such as Gala Balls. 

• Build strong relationships with colleagues and clinicians in the Trust to support, coordinate and plan tours and events. 

• Greet and steward visitors to the hospital and guests at our events.

• Help to prepare event briefings for Charity and Trust colleagues, so that all participants understand their role and contribute effectively. 

Administration, Processes and Data 

• Provide administration support for the philanthropy team ensuring all work is of a high standard, professional and accurate. 

• Writing and sending out personalised letters and cards. 

• Diary management, minute taking and meeting organisation. 

• Keeping the charity’s supporter database accurate and up to date. 

• Support with preparing data for philanthropy mailings and event invite lists.

• Use the CRM to support with the delivery of the Mid Value Programme. 

• Undertake prospect research, ensuring all processes are compliant with our privacy policy, data protection legislation and prospect research best practice. 

Other Duties  

• Be an outstanding advocate for Alder Hey Children’s Charity in line with the core values of the organisation. 

• Be an active and supportive member of the Alder Hey Children’s Charity team, contributing to the team’s development and working collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers.

• Attend and support events run by fundraising teams where required, including occasional out-of-hours working. 

• Gain and maintain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the charity’s work, priorities and future plans.

Additional Information

Every year, thousands of people in the UK face court alone. Often through no choice of their own, people must represent themselves at a moment that could have life-changing outcomes. This includes loss of access to children or homelessness. At the same time, people facing court alone may find themselves up against a party with legal representation. The role

The Service Manager will be based in the service department, and you’ll be supported by the Head of Service Delivery. 

You’ll be working with our university partner, Cardiff University, to recruit, train and supervise a high number of law students to deliver a high-quality service to our Cardiff clients. You'll also be supporting our current long-standing local volunteers, as well as continuing to recruit more local volunteers. About the IRM

The Independent Review Mechanism for England (IRM) provides, on behalf of the Secretary of State for Education, review panels for potential and current foster carers and adopters when agencies have decided not to approve them as a foster carer or adopter, or to terminate or change the terms of their approval.

As an IRM Medical Advisor you will be providing written medical advice to caseworkers, panel members and the Contract Manager about individual applicant and their suitability to foster/adopt as well as ad hoc advice on occasions.

Usually, the need for a medical advisor’s report is requested either after:

• Health issues are identified which have been a primary concern for the agency and given as reasons in the qualifying determination letter
• The agency documents indicate health issues have been identified which may affect a person’s suitability to foster or adopt but this has not been initially noted as a primary concern for the agency
• During the course of preparing for an IRM panel, the applicant/s have a medical emergency which then needs to be considered alongside other concerns regarding suitability
• A request for information which may relate to a specific condition or general information, not related directly to the applicant/s
