Job description

Employability Workshop Manager

Part-time (0.8 FTE, 28 hours per week)

Salary: £30,000-£33,000 FTE (£24,000-£26,400 actual salary)

Location: Bristol

Contract: Fixed-term, 2 years

Help young people build confidence, skills and pathways into employment

Ablaze are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Employability Workshop Manager to deliver our Employment & Skills programme workshops for young people aged 16-25 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET).

This role is ideal for someone who has experience planning and delivering engaging workshops, can build positive relationships with young people facing barriers to progression and is passionate about helping them develop the skills and confidence needed for employment.

Alongside workshop delivery, you will support the collection of programme impact data on our secondary school career mentoring programme and contribute to reporting for our business partners. You will work closely with existing members of our team, including our Employment and Skills Project Manager, who oversees the programme, our Employment and Skills Project Assistant, who supports programme administration and our Senior Programme Manager, who manages and oversees all our school based programmes.

About the Role

You will be responsible for workshop delivery as part of the Employment & Skills Programme which take place during:

· September to October (approximately 4-5 weeks)

· April to May (approximately 4-5 weeks)

During these periods, you will deliver workshops 2-days per week and join young people on 1-day work insight sessions at local businesses. Between delivery periods, you will refresh workshop content, support programme evaluation and reporting and work alongside our Senior Programme Manager attending Career Mentoring sessions in secondary schools and local businesses to gather impact data and case studies.

Key Responsibilities

 Employment & Skills Programme

· Plan and deliver engaging employability skills workshops for young people 16-25 who are NEET.

· Adapt workshop content for different groups and learning needs.

· Review and update workshop materials to ensure content remains relevant and engaging.

· Support young people to build confidence, employability skills and positive next steps.

Career Mentoring Programme Support

· Attend selected Career Mentoring workshops in schools and workplaces.

· Observe sessions and collect evaluation data from students, volunteers and partners.

· Support the gathering of evidence demonstrating programme impact.

Impact & Evaluation

· Collect participant feedback, outcome data and case studies.

· Produce impact reports for funders and business partners.

Essential Skills & Experience

· Experience planning and delivering workshops, training or group sessions.

· Experience working directly with young people aged 16-25.

· Experience supporting young people who are NEET or facing barriers to education, employment or training.

· Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

· Experience collecting and reporting on programme outcomes, feedback or impact data.

· Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a small team.

Desirable

· Experience working within employability, youth work, careers education or skills programmes.

· Experience collecting case studies and writing impact reports.

· Experience working with secondary schools.

· Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
