About the role 

As Legacy & In Memory Fundraiser, you’ll play a vital part in supporting the Legacy & In Memory Manager to deliver our legacy and in memory fundraising strategy. Your focus will be on day-to day stewardship, engaging with supporters and handling administration. You’ll act as a first point of contact for more complex enquiries, providing excellent service and helping to build meaningful relationships.

Working closely with colleagues across Fundraising, Admin and Communications, you’ll help maximise opportunities for legacy and in memory giving, maintain accurate records and ensure supporter journeys are well managed. This is a developmental role for someone looking to build their skills and experience in legacy fundraising, with plenty of scope to learn and progress within the team.

The nuts and bolts of the job:

• Support the Legacy & In Memory Manager in implementing legacy and in memory activities and campaigns.

• Deliver high-quality stewardship and build meaningful relationships with legacy and in memory supporters.

• Work with the Admin team to respond promptly and appropriately to supporter enquiries, including acting as a first point of contact for more complex enquiries.

• Maximise opportunities to promote will writing and legacy giving by working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation.

• Maintain accurate supporter records and effective systems for legacy and in memory correspondence using our CRM.

• Conduct research into legacy and in memory giving trends, and help keep marketing materials and digital platforms relevant and up to date.

• Act as an ambassador for legacy and in memory giving, representing Claire House professionally and sensitively.

What you’ll need to bring to the role

• Experience of managing supporter or customer relationships, ideally within a fundraising environment.

• Excellent people skills and the ability to handle sensitive conversations with tact and empathy.

• Experience of managing a varied workload and working effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Highly organised, with excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.

• Good IT skills and experience of maintaining accurate information on a database or CRM.

• Confidence in exploring and presenting insight and data.

• A collaborative and motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• An understanding of fundraising regulation and the Fundraising Code of Practice, or a willingness to develop this knowledge.
