RESPONSIBILITIES:

Brief role description

We're hiring a Specialist Women’s Refuge Deputy Service Manager someone who is passionate about supporting women and their children and is committed to their rights and safety. You'll ensure the team are empowered, with the right tools and resources to deliver a seamless service that supports residents through their healing journey, helping them overcome personal challenges and work towards independence and their goals.
The service spans over 3 buildings and you will help lead a team of support mentors and children and family workers. We’re looking for a solution focused leader who is passionate about the resident group, committed to trauma informed and inclusive practice, and driven to make lasting change. You will ensure full contract and regulatory compliance while leading your team to meet KPIs and service requirements.

The Learning Programmes Manager fulfils a key role in the busy Education and Training team at SPAB. They have responsibility to coordinate and deliver our two annual learning programmes: the SPAB Scholarship and the SPAB Fellowship. Aligned with ISO 31000 principles, the role leads the development, maturation, and embedding of an enterprise risk approach that integrates risk into strategy, operations, and organisational culture, enabling clear ownership across both centralised and decentralised functions.

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate HR & Volunteer Manager to join our People & Workforce Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled HR professional who is passionate about supporting people, fostering positive workplace cultures and recognising the invaluable contribution volunteers make within our community.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of People & Workforce, you will play a key role in delivering professional HR support across the Hospice while leading and developing our volunteer programme.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys creating positive change. As the Hospice continues to evolve, a key focus during your first year will be to help modernise, streamline and improve people and volunteer processes, ensuring they are efficient, fit for purpose and provide an excellent experience for employees, volunteers and managers alike.
You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to identify opportunities for improvement, simplify ways of working, enhance systems and processes, and support the development of a modern, people-focused HR function.
You will:
- Provide expert HR advice and guidance to managers on a wide range of people matters.
- Lead the review, development and modernisation of HR and volunteer processes, policies and systems.
- Identify opportunities to streamline administration, improve efficiency and enhance the employee and volunteer experience.
- Lead and develop recruitment and onboarding processes.
- Support employee wellbeing and engagement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, HR best practice and regulatory requirements.
- Produce workforce data and insights to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Oversee volunteer recruitment, onboarding, engagement and recognition.
