If successful you will be based at “The ARC Youth Club”, an estate based youth led centre with integrated music studio, kitchen, games and "chill-out" space. The ARC engages approximately 250 young people per year and plays a vital role in their welfare and development outside of school. In holidays we offer a full program of activities and free meals for young people who may otherwise miss out.

You will deliver a range of activities e.g. cooking, arts & crafts, sports, trips, music, events etc. You will also offer support and guidance for local young people and enable them to develop life long skills while designing and running their own projects, forums etc. In school holidays you will be required to work an expected 28 hrs a week as we offer a full program of activities and free meals for young people

Duties Include:

Promoting and delivering activities for young people aged 9-19 yrs  (up to 25yrs for young people with SEND), 3 nights a week during term time, hours 3-8pm (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday), and 4 days a week during school holidays, hours 11.30am-7pm (Tuesday-Friday). There also may be times when you are required to work outside of these hours

Engaging with a range of young people from diverse backgrounds and with multiple needs with a focus on developing and running a programme for girls and young women. 

Ensuring safeguarding standards are maintained and other policies and procedures are upheld

Facilitate and support intergenerational projects 

Working in partnership with other organisations to meet local needs

Acting as an effective part of the youth team and wider SHAK team supporting community activities as needed

Skills & Experience

• Relevant youth work qualification or equivalent and significant, relevant experience of youth service delivery.

Early Literacy Interventionist (South London)

• In-school, 10 hours per week across 5 days working between 1pm and 3pm

37% of children from disadvantaged backgrounds left primary school in England in 2025 unable to read to the expected standard (KS2 attainment data 24-25) . Chapter One is a fast-growing charity, with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills they need to thrive. We work to ensure that all children have 1:1 reading support at the time they need it most.

Our Early Literacy Intervention (ELI) programme (based on a model that serves 20,000 children successfully in the USA) provides daily, 1:1, 7 minute phonics sessions for children who are behind in phonics. Using a bespoke technology tool, a trained Early Literacy Interventionist works individually with target children. 

This ELI role, reporting to the Senior ELI Programme Manager, is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop and grow their knowledge of phonics and/or their teaching skill set. It is ideal for someone with previous school experience who is looking for a new and exciting challenge.

You will conduct initial baseline assessments and then deliver differentiated, 1:1, targeted, 7 minute phonics sessions to pupils using a systematic, synthetic approach. Although you are employed by Chapter One, you will work closely with the school team to understand the progression of the school’s phonics teaching; establish tailored plans for each child and feedback on pupil progress. Using your knowledge and insight, you will also collaborate with colleagues at Chapter One to further improve the ELI model, the online tool and programme delivery.

The role

The Research Officer will report to the Research Manager, work closely with the major gift team located in the UK, Canada, Australia and the United States, and gain first-hand knowledge and experience working as an in-house prospect research professional for a highly regarded educational charity.

The role will be responsible for;

· Providing a high-quality in-house prospect research service to the Development Team and senior leaders including the Warden (CEO) of the Trust, and Trustees, as required

· Contributing to the proactive identification of potential major donors and partners to the Rhodes Trust including alumni, individuals, foundations and corporates

· Delivering a pipeline of briefing materials for the Warden (CEO) and senior leadership team to support key fundraising and stakeholder meetings, events and overseas travel itineraries as requested

· Assisting with compiling and managing a portfolio of additional research materials and projects, including profiles, network mapping, philanthropy reports, and targeted analysis, as well as country-specific content to support the Trust’s fundraising efforts in different geographies

· Recording and managing prospect and stakeholder data using the Trust’s CRM database (Salesforce)

· Role modelling the Trust’s organisational values of commitment, inclusion, belonging, growth and innovation

Key Duties for Form F Assessors include:

Rates of Pay for Form F Assessors

• We will pay £2250 (inclusive of VAT) + up to £500 bonus payments (if criteria are met) upon submission of a successfully completed Form F Assessment.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Kids Network are seeking a Community Fundraising Officer to join our small, successful team to help take our community fundraising to the next level, as we grow to deliver life-changing mentoring for more Little Londoners. This role will oversee our growing Community Fundraising programme, building on the processes, engagement and successes we’ve nurtured over two years, keeping our wonderful supporters motivated, committed and happy, while increasing the income they raise.

As our Community Fundraising Officer, you will be the first point of contact for supporters taking on challenge events and raising money for TKN in the community. You will ensure our different supporters have a fantastic experience at every step, and feel committed to supporting the charity’s work and furthering our impact for Little Londoners. Working closely with our two other fundraisers, you will learn about all aspects of fundraising, and support the team with maintaining meticulous records, delivering strong supporter stewardship, and writing lower-level funding applications and reports.

This role supports The Kids Network by securing the income and public support required to deliver and scale our transformative mentoring programme.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

COMMUNITY AND INDIVIDUAL GIVING FUNDRAISING

· Oversee onboarding and stewardship journeys for event fundraisers

· Recruit and support people fundraising in their community (schools, businesses, faith groups, etc)

· Maintain our Community Fundraising platforms and keep event listings up-to-date

· Maintain meticulous donation and supporter records on Salesforce and liaise with Finance team

· Oversee administration and stewardship for Friends of TKN supporters club, and developing offer for committed supporters

TRUST FUNDRAISING

· Collate information for, proofread and write lower level funding applications and reports

· Maintain supporter records on Salesforce (reporting schedules, receipting and recognition)

· Support team with researching and identifying Trust prospects

GENERAL

· Work closely with our Marketing Team to deliver consistent, persuasive fundraising messages in our social media posts and newsletters, as well as maintain up-to-date website content

· Maintain our Case For Support, ensuring it’s up-to-date and compelling to attract partners and donors

· Support general stewardship with supporters, funders and corporate partners

The Time to Shine Leadership Programme is aimed at those who are currently unemployed or underemployed and provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience within a charity as part of a 12-month work placement. The successful candidate will work within an innovative tenant-led partnership called Ageing Well in Place in Hulme (AWiPiH) which includes tenants and community groups; local and national charities; GPs; housing providers; and support from a local university. 

You will enable older and vulnerable people experiencing multiple disadvantage in high rise accommodation to 'age well in place' through one-to-one casework within a managed caseload and with supervisory support from a GP Fellow. You will work in collaboration with tenant committees; an Ageing Well Development Worker; the GP Fellow; and housing provider neighbourhood teams across two high-rise blocks. AWiPiH takes a preventative and proactive approach to wellbeing including health promotion, improved access to social care, housing adaptations, signposting on welfare rights, income maximisation and social participation. This role requires a person-centred and solution-focused approach to supporting people experiencing multiple and complex issues.

You will have a hybrid working arrangement including some working from home; some working based at a local GP practice; and on-site working across two neighbouring accommodation blocks in Hulme, central Manchester.
