The Daniel Spargo-Mabbs Foundation is a drug and alcohol education charity, founded by Fiona and Tim Spargo-Mabbs in 2014 in response to the death of their 16-year-old son Dan having taken ecstasy. The charity aims to support young people to make safe choices and reduce harm, through increasing their understanding of the effects and risks of drugs and alcohol and improving their life skills & resilience. We work with young people, parents, teachers and professionals, in schools, colleges and communities across the UK. 

Key responsibilities

Our client offers a range of quality, exciting and inclusive short break clubs and activities across Surrey and West Sussex for children and young people aged 5–17 with a disability and additional needs. They are now looking to recruit an Senior SEND Delivery Coordinator to oversee the delivery of high quality, stimulating, safe services for a range of children and young people in Leatherhead and Epsom.

As Senior Delivery Coordinator you will plan and deliver a structured programme of enjoyable, recreational, high-quality activities to meet the needs of children and young people with additional needs and disabilities who attend Short Breaks clubs. You will coordinate and take responsibility for the planning, allocation of places, and sufficient staffing to ensure safe delivery of Short Breaks clubs, and will assist in the recruitment, training and ongoing development of the Disability staff team. You will have responsibility for processing new referrals, initial assessments, individual care plans and any associated risk assessments or specialist plans to ensure individual needs are met.

This exciting and rewarding role will require a passion for working with SEND as well as excellent coordination skills to manage the delivery of high quality, stimulating, safe services. About the Role

As a Children Sessional Play Worker, you will be involved in the planning and delivery of a variety of sessions and activities for children and young people at the refuge. This includes listening to children’s ideas to design services around their needs, choices, and aspirations. You will support and involve children in activities which are playful, stimulating, and enjoyable.

You will work alongside the Family Support Worker, encouraging all children to take part and have as much fun as possible whilst helping to develop children's learning, well-being, and social skills.

About You

You will have experience of working with children and you are passionate about play as well as dedicated to providing a welcoming and safe space for all children - supervising the children and ensuring their safety at all times.

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on children as well as practical experience of working with children and within a team. You will also need to demonstrate a proven ability to work on your own initiative and under supervision. A minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in child-care /play/ youthwork /sports/coaching or creative arts is desirable. The role is centred around coordinating high-quality activities for children. Given the nature of this role, we are unable to offer hybrid working for this position.

This is a part time post at 16 hours per week and a fixed term contract to 31st March 2027.

The postholder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborate with external agencies, and engage in outreach with faith-based groups and churches to help ensure our service is accessible to women from this marginalised community.

You will also be required to support the duty line to meet service demands

About You

You will be highly organised, self-motivated and passionate about ending VAWG and safeguarding. Your can-do approach and clear commitment to Solace’s feminist approach to supporting women and their children to be safer will be essential to the success in this role. Ideally, you will have experience of working with survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence in a multi-agency setting, along with a good working knowledge of the criminal and civil justice systems. You will be able to provide emotional and practical support to victims of VAWG.

A relevant qualification in VAWG or significant experience is desirable but not essential.

Additional Information

The postholder will be based at our Bexley service, working full-time from Monday to Friday and providing on-site support to survivors. Given the nature of this role, we are unable to offer hybrid working for this position.

The salary for this post is £29,385 - £30,671 (Unqualified) or £30,671 - £33,438 (Qualified).

RCJ Advice is an exceptional Citizens Advice and Law Centre delivering national legal advice services, both frontline and second tier, to people who are unable to afford legal representation and advice. We are based within the Royal Courts of Justice, the Central London Family Court and community sites across London, where we deliver local Citizens Advice services.

This post is a new role within our Miscarriage of Justice Support Service, the only national service in England and Wales providing specialist support to people affected by miscarriages of justice. Our role is to support individuals whose criminal convictions have been quashed by the Court of Appeal. Many clients have spent many years, and sometimes decades, in prison before their convictions were overturned. As a result, many experience complex trauma, institutionalisation and significant challenges associated with release and reintegration.

Our work is grounded in the belief that those affected by miscarriages of justice deserve not only to have their convictions overturned, but to be supported with dignity, continuity, and recognition as they rebuild their lives. We offer long-term, person-centred, trauma-informed support tailored to the needs of each individual.

Working alongside the two MJSS Caseworkers, the specialist Mental Health Nurse will provide mental health assessments, psycho-social support and interventions to people affected by a serious miscarriages of justice.

The role includes support planning, delivery of interventions within professional competence, facilitating access to appropriate services, liaison with health and social care providers, and supporting individuals through key stages of their journey, including whilst waiting on their appeal to be heard (whilst still in prison), possible release from custody and community reintegration. The focus will be on MJSS clients but may expand to their family members or other close relations who can also be deeply affected by the client’s incarceration and subsequent release.

The two Caseworkers are based at our offices within the Royal Courts of Justice in London. The team meet clients in person initially, to build a relationship, which will involve travel across England and Wales. Once a relationship has been established, typically we then communicate via telephone and online, but people may still need in-person support e.g. attending appointments with them.

Ideally the post-holder would come into the office at least several times a month to build and maintain an excellent working relationship with the Caseworkers, giving the option to work at other times from home or to travel. Travel for this role will vary according to the needs of each client, but we expect this to be round once a fortnight. All travel expenses will be paid by RCJ Advice.

Substance Use Practitioner - Mindworks

Job Description

We are seeking a driven and enthusiastic practitioners, to join Catch22 Surrey Young People’s Substance Use Service (SYPSUS). This role will be focused on providing substance use interventions, to children and young people (C&YP), who are accessing support from certain services within Surrey Mindworks (formerly known as CAMHS).

The new post will provide the successful candidate with an exciting opportunity to shape and develop the role, and to contribute to service development. This is a great time to join a happy, safe, and supportive team, who are passionate about delivering the best possible outcomes for children, young people, and their families.

Main responsibilities:

· To develop and embed links/pathway between services, working directly with children and young people who are accessing Mindworks Surrey.

· To provide sustained support to a pre-defined caseload of young people, who are referred by means of effective assessment and care planning.

· To act as a link worker between Mindworks and Catch22 SYPSUS, ensuring delivery of an integrated provision for children and young people.

· To deliver therapeutic interventions, such as brief solution focused and motivational interviewing, as well as contributing to systemic practice.

· To work alongside Surrey Mindworks colleagues, providing consultation and guidance. 

· To assess levels of presenting risk associated with substance use, and provide support in managing this risk.

· In partnership with SYPSUS colleagues, to deliver training and workshops to support and upskill staff. 

· To identify and develop resources to support professionals working with children and young people with substance use issues.

Qualifications

· A relevant qualification such as youth work, counselling, health and social care, and/or relevant experience of therapeutic delivery, and alternative suitable qualifications. 

· Good communication, organisational, and ICT skills.

What does good look like for this role?

· You will demonstrate knowledge and competency in delivering young people’s substance use interventions, to a wide arrange of individuals, according to their needs.

· You will have knowledge/understanding and or direct experience of supporting C&YP who are experiencing difficulties with their emotional wellbeing and mental health.

· You will evidence that you are able to work to a high standard of record keeping in a timely manner, in accordance with Catch22 delivery outcomes, targets and recording procedures.

· You will be able to deliver and evidence high-quality engagement and support to the young people and families we work with.

· You will communicate and work collaboratively, constructively and effectively with colleagues and partner agencies, ensuring effective partnership working, representing Catch22 professionally at all times, and contributing positively to the team and Catch22.

There are 2 x roles for this post, 1 x practitioner will cover West Surrey and 1 x practitioner will cover East Surrey. This role requires an up-to-date driving licence, access to a vehicle, MOT and business insurance.

Purpose of the role

To deliver a range of dynamic and engaging education and wellbeing interventions to young people, adults and professionals on a wide range of topics including sexual health, reproductive health, relationships and wellbeing. An outreach role, requiring frequent travel to a range of education and community venues to deliver face to face and digital wholeclass sessions, small group sessions and 1:1 programmes to young people, service users, parents/carers and the wider young people’s work force.

Citizens Advice Milton Keynes is a local charity that helps people to resolve their legal, money and personal problems. We have been providing free, confidential, and impartial advice since 1972 and helped over 8000 local people last year.

As a Specialist Adviser within the Macmillan Money & More SWS Service, you will provide high-quality, confidential information, advice and support to people affected by cancer and their families across a region spanning from Milton Keynes to Cornwall. Working as part of a coordinated team of advisers across multiple Citizens Advice locations, you will take a person-centred approach to understand each client’s individual circumstances and provide tailored guidance on welfare benefits, financial support, debt, energy costs, employment issues and other practical challenges arising from a cancer diagnosis. You will help clients navigate complex systems, access available support, and improve their financial wellbeing during a difficult and often overwhelming time. Through compassionate and holistic advice, you will empower people affected by cancer to make informed decisions, build confidence, and feel supported throughout their cancer journey.

The ideal candidate will provide advice and support in person, via telephone, email and video call to patients undergoing treatment for cancer. Macmillan Project Caseworkers will assist clients with complex welfare benefits and housing enquiries. This requires a good foundation knowledge of each advice area, so competence in these subjects is desirable, but full and ongoing training will be provided to support successful candidates in their professional development.

This is a challenging role, managing a demanding caseload and working with people at every stage of their cancer journey. All our advice work is carried out to the strictest quality standards, and we are committed to ensuring that all our advice work complements the wider services provided by both Citizens Advice and Macmillan Cancer Care.

Applicants need to be:

• Computer-literate, although training on our case recording systems will be given.
• Confident in working to performance targets.
• Able to show good communications skills, both written and verbal. These are essential in the role, as are excellent customer service skills with a non-judgemental approach.
• Prepared to work independently, sometimes remotely and also from a variety of community-based locations.

A minimum of 12 months’ experience in an advice agency or similar setting is desirable.

Location: This role requires weekly attendance at Scope Leeds office (3 Brewery Wharf, Leeds, LS10 1JF)  with the remaining days worked remotely.

The working pattern for this role will be agreed and will be varied over shift patterns between 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday and to include some Saturday working 10am to 6pm. 

The role

We are looking for a self-starter with the ability to prioritise their own workload whilst advising Scope’s helpline customers. To provide support to helpline customers, supporters and donors and Scope enquiry customers.

In this role, you will:

· Provide consistent high-quality responses to enquiries received at Scope’s Helpline via telephone, email, live chat, our online community, and social networking channels, within set turnaround times.

· Ensure that customers feel valued and are provided with information that is tailored to meet individual need, is accurate, up to date and accessible to them.

· Provide excellent customer service with a friendly and empathetic manner.

· Continually update your knowledge around disability issues and to share learning across the team, to offer an expert service to Scope’s customers.

· Identify the correct person/department and efficiently transfer calls internally when customers ring with general enquiries.

· Ensure that details of all enquiries are logged accurately on the customer database in a timely manner and that quality data and information is maintained.

· Work within Scope’s policies relating to customer confidentiality and data protection.

· Follow Scope’s policy and process around safeguarding and to make decisions regarding relevant customers as appropriate.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
