Purpose of the job
The successful candidate will be employed as part of the Evidence Team working in a supportive, dynamic and fast-moving environment. While the post is initially funded for a year, there is likely to be further funding to work on projects related to the monitoring of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) beyond this date. The role is to aid in the delivery of a range of projects within the Evidence Program. These projects will focus on evidence collection in relation to nature-based solutions for flooding and water quality issues, as well as supporting a network of citizen scientists to carry out water quality sampling. You will work across several projects to collect and analyse water quality evidence relating to NbS that have been installed across London or are planned to be installed. This will involve visiting sites across London regularly to survey sites, collect samples, and speak to local stakeholders.
You will work closely with our network of citizen scientists to support their efforts to measure water quality in their local area. This will involve distributing equipment and PPE, responding to their queries, and visiting sites with them to discuss local pollution issues and potential solutions.
This job would suit somebody who has an interest in river water quality, enjoys working outside, is a good problem solver, and likes working with people.

Turning this tide requires both reducing financial flows to nature-negative activities and significantly scaling up finance for activities that deliver for nature and people.
Many investors lack clarity on how to make this shift. Building on the success of The Little Book of Nature Business, Global Canopy is developing a Nature-Positive Transitions programme that will deliver the evidence, analysis, innovation and energy to mobilise investors, especially asset owners, to support this financial shift.
We are a new, exciting and extremely ambitious programme within Global Canopy and we work closely with likeminded partners, including Oxford University, UNEP Finance Initiative, and UNEP’s State of Finance for Nature initiative.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Our very first project under the Nature-Positive Programme, in partnership with the Nature Positive Hub at the University of Oxford, focuses on building the data infrastructure to enable credibility and comparability in assessing nature-related opportunities. RAIS Lancaster is a charity founded in 2017 to offer advocacy, information, and support to refugees and asylum seekers in our area. We are volunteer-led, with a small staff team of two currently. We currently offer five drop-ins a week for asylum seekers and refugees, in collaboration with partner organisations, in Lancaster and Morecambe. Each drop-in is staffed by paid and voluntary workers.
We also conduct support work for asylum seekers and refugees facing more complex issues in one-to-one appointments in our office at the Cornerstone in Lancaster, and accompany clients to appointments where appropriate to offer support and advocacy. As the needs of asylum seekers and refugees in our area change, we adapt and develop our work to support those we work with. We are expecting to soon be registered with the Immigration Advice Authority.

Future Foundations is an education programme of Katherine Low Settlement. Since 2004, KLS’ Future Foundations education team of 10 part-time staff and over 100 volunteers, have supported young refugees and their families in Battersea and the London Borough of Wandsworth to thrive in their education. Role Description
The COO is the Cathedral’s principal member of staff and has responsibility for the overall operational performance and administration of the organisation, its assets and its people. Appointed by the Chapter and accountable to them through the Dean, the COO works with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to develop and implement strategy and policy, ensure effective governance and compliance, manage the business functions of the Cathedral and monitor its overall progress and development.

Additional Information
The role requires the post-holder to work occasional weekends, evenings and non-working days, as required for which time off in lieu will be given. The post-holder will undertake such other duties as may reasonably be expected. You'll work closely with colleagues across the organisation, volunteer leaders, subject matter experts and external suppliers, bringing people together to deliver multifaceted, cross-functional projects that support operational excellence and continuous improvement.
As part of the Quality and Service Improvement team, you'll help embed strong project management practices, provide clear governance and reporting, and ensure stakeholders remain engaged and informed throughout the project lifecycle.
