Job Purpose

To ensure the smooth functioning of the central diocesan office in particular by leading on governance in the Diocesan Board of Finance, co-ordinating activities and managing the day-to-day responsibilities of the Diocesan Secretary’s role as Company Secretary. 

 This will involve a range of responsibilities including:

•  Leading on all elements of governance and charity law compliance 
•  Leading the Health and Safety and facilities management in the Diocesan Offices, including the line management of staff.
•  Co-ordinating, preparing planning and follow up for a range of meetings associated with the governance of the diocese. This includes drafting agendas, preparing papers, taking minutes of meetings and following up the actions

The Person

You should have significant experience in a governance or secretariat role, preferably in a charity and ideally in the Church of England.  Proven ability to work closely with senior leaders, ideally at CEO or Board level is essential, as is the experience of leading a small team to deliver well under pressure.  You should have a strong understanding of the charity sector and ideally of Church of England governance

As a key contact for people in the Diocese, you should have outstanding communication skills: written, verbal, and interpersonal, combined with strong organisational and project management skills.  You will need to be comfortable switching between high level strategy and hands on delivery, with the ability to influence without authority and navigate sensitive issues with discretion. The role is challenging and involves some evening and weekend working for which time off in lieu is given.

This role sits at the heart of Medical Justice, ensuring the organisation runs smoothly and effectively. You will play a key role in connecting people, systems, and processes, enabling us to respond efficiently and compassionately. You will be the first point of contact for anyone calling Medical Justice, providing welcome and support to clients, their family members and volunteers. You will support the coordination of clinician visits, manage essential organisational systems, and contribute to the accurate recording and reporting of our work.

We are looking for someone with proven experience across administration, operations, IT, and finance, ideally within an NGO or human rights organisation. You will be highly organised, proactive, and comfortable managing a varied workload, with experience in office coordination, maintaining systems, and supporting teams to work efficiently and collaboratively. Your contribution will help ensure our clinical evidence, advocacy, and casework can achieve meaningful and lasting change.

For a large government organisation, we're recruiting an interim Tax Manager to lead delivery of day-to-day tax operations including VAT and tax compliance during a large-scale ERP implementation programme. The interim Tax Manager will focus on maintaining high-quality business-as-usual tax delivery, while working closely with the ERP programme teams to share knowledge, provide input on system-wide tax processes, and support readiness.

OVERVIEW

As Finance Officer, you will support the Financial Accountant in effectively managing the Purchase Ledger and providing a high-quality financial support service to the RMBI Care Company Home Management Teams. This includes overseeing the financial aspects of purchases and supplier management.

Key responsibilities include administering the invoice capture system for supplier invoices, processing staff expenses and corporate credit card transactions via the expense management system, and assisting Homes in the effective operation of Imprest, Residents' Fund, and Amenity Fund accounts within the Resident Information System. You will support the Homes admin team to ensure timely and accurate recording of bank transactions and reconciliation of fund accounts. Additionally, you will provide cover and assistance to the Accounts Receivable team as required.

Affinity Trust is looking for an experienced Interim Senior FP&A Manager to bring senior finance capacity, challenge and insight across a complex, multi-site organisation.

This is not a routine reporting role. We are looking for someone who can quickly get under the skin of operational performance, understand the financial drivers behind service delivery, and help senior leaders make better, faster and more informed decisions.

You will work closely with the Head of Finance, Finance Business Partners, Divisional Directors and operational leaders, providing high-quality analysis, forecasting, commercial insight and constructive challenge. The work will span income, workforce costs, agency and overtime spend, utilisation, fee rates, contract performance, forecasting assumptions and recovery planning.

This is a senior individual contributor role, adding experienced capacity where it is most needed, to help maintain pace across key priorities, and strengthen the link between financial insight and operational action.

The assignment

You will be joining at a point where strong financial planning, clear analysis and senior business partnering are critical to supporting sustainable services.

Your work will include:

• Leading robust forecasting and scenario modelling across a complex operational portfolio
• Providing senior finance business partnering to divisional and operational leaders
• Analysing key cost drivers, particularly workforce-related costs such as agency, overtime, sickness and staffing ratios
• Reviewing income, fee rates, local authority funding assumptions, utilisation and contract performance

About you

You will be confident working with senior stakeholders and able to bring both grip and judgement. You will know how to challenge assumptions constructively, explain complex financial information clearly, and turn analysis into action.

You are likely to have worked in a complex, multi-site or operationally demanding environment, where financial performance is closely linked to workforce planning, contract income, service delivery and operational decision-making.

You will bring:

• Strong FP&A, forecasting, modelling and management reporting experience
• Advanced Excel and analytical capability
• Credibility with senior operational and finance stakeholders
• Experience supporting budgeting, reforecasting, recovery planning and performance improvement

This is an exciting opportunity to shape and grow our retail, cafes, bars, catering and venue operations while developing new income streams that support the wider student experience. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Services, you will lead the day to day management of our commercial operations through a team of managers covering Retail, Catering, and Venues & Entertainment. You will also drive new business development, identifying and delivering commercial opportunity to make a visible impact across both existing services and future ventures.

Are you passionate about delivering outstanding supporter experience and operational excellence?
Sue Ryder is seeking a proactive and experienced Supporter Services Team Leader to join our dynamic team. If you have a strong background in customer service/supporter engagement, contact centre management and CRM record administration whilst managing a team, this is your chance to make a real impact.
Supporting our Fundraising Directorate, you'll play a vital role in ensuring complaints resolution and compliance, driving engagement and contact opportunities such as outbound calling and leading a team to success. You'll work closely with the Supporter Services & Standards Manager to deliver strategic initiatives that support our mission.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead supporter engagement and contact operations: Manage and develop our supporter/customer contact centre, ensuring high-quality service delivery across all supporter channels while monitoring and reporting on KPIs.
• Manage complaints, compliance and GDPR requests: Oversee supporter complaints and conflict resolution, lead investigations, ensure compliance with fundraising policies and regulations, and manage supporter deletion and GDPR requests.
• Team Leadership: Line manage the engagement and contact side of the Supporter Services & Standards team, supporting their development and fostering a high-performance culture.

Essential Criteria

• Experience delivering high-quality customer or supporter care within a charity or commercial environment in managing complex supporter or customer enquiries and complaints.
• Leadership skills: Proven ability to manage SLAs, inspire staff, and develop a team to achieve goals.
• A passion for impact: A desire to contribute to the success of our fundraising efforts, and to help deliver strategic goals that support Sue Ryder’s mission.
• Proactive mindset: Ability to take initiative, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement in how we engage and communicate with our supporters.
