What the job involves
As our Senior People Services Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day heartbeat of People Services and make sure every colleague has a smooth, supportive and high-quality experience throughout their time with us.
You’ll be the person who keeps things running brilliantly: setting the pace for operational delivery, supporting managers with confidence, and making sure our processes are simple, clear and compliant – ensuring delivery through an experienced and high-performing People Services Team. You’ll work closely with People & Culture, Finance, IT and leaders across the charity to drive a consistent, joined up service that helps people do their best work.
This is a hands-on leadership role partnering with People & Culture leadership and peers to drive the People Strategy and foster a high-performance, inclusive culture. You’ll shape how we deliver People Services, spotting ways to improve, simplify and modernise what we do. You’ll lead a team covering critical activity relating to all stages of the employee lifecycle, from onboarding, contracts, HR systems and data, payroll oversight, policies and employee relations, and you’ll be the operational authority and escalation point for complex or high-risk issues.
Some of the work you and your team will be getting involved in includes:
- Leading and developing the People Services & Payroll team so they have clarity, support and space to thrive.
- Making sure onboarding, contracts, and offboarding all run smoothly and consistently, with a great colleague experience.
- Overseeing HR systems and data to maintain accuracy, insight and compliance.
- Working with People Experience & Communications colleagues to refresh and embed people policies in a way that feels simple and supportive and encourages co-creation.
- Coaching managers on inclusive, confident people leadership and helping them handle tricky issues with care and clarity.
- Taking the lead on complex employee relations cases, change processes or emerging risks, and ensuring we handle things fairly and consistently.
- Driving continuous improvement - whether that’s simplifying a workflow, introducing a digital tool, or building capability across the organisation.
- Providing operational insight to support strategy, planning, resourcing and decision-making at leadership level.

What we want from you
We’re looking for someone who brings a blend of operational confidence, sound judgement, people leadership and a passion for improving how things work and who is comfortable and able to thrive in a fast-paced and reactive enabling function.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Strong HR operations experience at a senior level, with CIPD Level 5 or equivalent knowledge.
- Expertise in employee relations, including handling complex or sensitive cases with fairness, clarity and confidence.
- Experience overseeing payroll operations and HR systems, with a practical understanding of data accuracy, GDPR and people metrics.
- A natural adaptability to changing priorities and an ability to build trust and influence across all levels - someone who can coach managers, support colleagues and work in partnership with senior leaders.
- A continuous improvement mindset: you enjoy simplifying processes, solving problems and creating clarity – and you naturally collaborate and take the team with you on journeys of change rather than imposing a singular view.

How and where we work
Colleagues attend the office at least four days per month (pro rata for part-time colleagues) to collaborate, build relationships, and support projects and decision-making. You can choose where to work the rest of the time. Travel to the office is a commute, so we pay our own travel costs.
Additional in-person attendance will be required during your first few months for induction and training, to support you to learn the role and get to know colleagues.

We’re looking for a Programme Manager (Income Generation), who will apply project management methodologies to align all fundraising activity with the divisional objective: to bring in the funds that make our work possible.
What does this role do?
As Programme Manager (Income Generation), you will:
- apply standardised project management lifecycles, methodologies and governance to all activity in the Income Generation division, ensuring all work is aligned with strategic objectives,
- support the division to design and deliver projects, covering the full project lifecycle from initial scoping to lessons learned and evaluation,
- report on progress throughout projects, proactively identifying and communicating dependencies, risks and priorities,
- engage with stakeholders across the division to understand their projects and challenges, while working closely with the Portfolio team and other Programme Managers to align projects with wider organisational priorities.

Could this be you?
To be successful in this role, you’ll need experience of delivering complex programmes and business planning, ideally with experience in income generation or fundraising, with an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities projects in this space present. Experience of supporting teams and projects through significant change, preferably supported by a qualification in project management. You’ll be an excellent communicator with strong stakeholder management skills, who works proactively and autonomously, and has experience of managing project budgets. Fight for Peace is looking for an exceptional Facilities Manager to take full ownership of our Academy in Royal Docks, East London — a vibrant, purpose-built space where young people aged 7–25 come to box, train, learn, and grow.
This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit behind a desk raising purchase orders. As our Facilities Manager, you'll be the person who makes the Academy hum, from keeping us legally compliant and structurally sound to leading capital projects, managing a network of contractors, and making sure every corner of the building reflects the ambition and energy of the community it serves.
You'll have real ownership. You'll have a say in the facilities budget, shape the annual maintenance plan, and play an active role in our team. When something needs doing, you'll have the authority and the trust to get it done.
What you'll be leading:
The Academy is a busy, multi-use space — and no two days are the same. You'll oversee everything from day-to-day maintenance and statutory compliance to major refurbishment projects (including an ongoing changing rooms development). You'll manage our cleaning team, oversee IT infrastructure, run our room hire offer, and work with the income generation team to grow commercial use of the space. Health and safety sits at the heart of this role — you'll be our lead on fire safety, EICR, legionella, asbestos, and everything in between, maintaining a compliance register that is always audit-ready.
Safeguarding is central to how we operate. You'll ensure the physical environment supports a safe and welcoming space for young people, and that every contractor who steps through our doors is properly vetted.
What we're looking for:
You'll bring solid, hands-on experience in facilities, estates, or building management — ideally in a community, education, or sports setting. You'll know your way around a PPM schedule, a compliance register, and a contractor negotiation. You'll be organised, dependable, and the kind of person who spots a problem before it becomes one.

In essence, the role will be responsible for managing, developing and enhancing the day-to-day running of the Membership Services Department to ensure all those engaging with England Boxing have a first-class experience.
The role is also responsible for the accuracy of the data on England Boxing’s database (which includes the current and past member records) and to provide support to volunteers and England Boxing staff as appropriate.

Key Accountabilities Include:
• To lead and develop the ‘Thriving Boxing Community’ element of the England Boxing strategy. In addition, help develop and deliver the broader England Boxing strategy as required.
• To develop and update the company CRM system, ensuring streamlined processes and systems to guarantee a high-quality experience for our members & volunteers.
• To oversee the day-to-day support and management of regional volunteers across the country in line with England Boxing’s policies, procedures, services & systems.
• To ensure the membership services function operates effectively and that the functions’ activities are aligned with departmental and company objectives.
• To ensure that all membership enquiries are satisfactorily managed, resolved and closed in agreed timescales.
• To manage proactive engagement with members to grow affiliation, enhance membership retention and promote England Boxing services.

Person Specification - Essential:
• Minimum three years’ experience in managing, developing, and enhancing membership, volunteer, or customer services.
• Understanding and awareness of individual and club membership within a sporting environment.
• Experience in setting goals, targets and measures, and subsequent implementation plans, particularly in relation to commercialisation & CRM development
• Comfortable operating in a fast-changing and challenging environment with excellent people/relationship management skills and the ability to influence and engage.
• Track record in the successful management of budgets, volunteers and staff, including their ongoing development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Along with appropriate IT skills, specifically Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• To be resilient and able to demonstrate leadership, and have experience operating at a management level.
• Experience of writing high-level reports, policies and strategies, particularly in relation to the practical implementation of good governance within a national sporting or third sector organisation
• Experience using insight and research methods to help better understand customer or membership behaviour, and apply learnings to improve future work
• A demonstrable understanding of the need to co-produce/collaborate with stakeholders and the impact of the same.
Desirable:
• Knowledge of amateur boxing, including technical rules and competitions.
• Experience of managing sub-committees, focus groups and/or consultations in a voluntary, sports or customer service environment

• Hold a full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
