About the Role
As Policy Officer, you will lead the development and influencing of policy positions on suicide prevention, using research and evidence to produce high-quality briefings, consultation responses and reports. You will build strong internal and external relationships, monitor the policy environment, and work collaboratively across the charity to communicate and advance our policy work.

What You’ll Do
- Support the development of Samaritans’ policy positions on suicide prevention.
- Produce clear briefings, consultation responses and policy reports.

As Joint Head of Legal Services, you will:
•Support Strategic Development: Contribute to developing the direction and priorities of Release’s legal services, including expanding legal aid work and strengthening access to justice.
•Provide Practice Leadership: Support a multidisciplinary team of solicitors, legal advisers and volunteers to deliver excellent, trauma-informed legal support.
•Ensure Quality and Compliance: Help ensure consistent regulatory compliance and quality assurance across legal casework, including legal aid requirements.

Person Specification
Essential
•Minimum 6 years + post qualified solicitor with a current practising certificate, and
•Minimum 4 years + substantial experience in legal aid casework, supervision and/or compliance, and
•Minimum 2 years + experience of supervising others and/or management experience and
•Substantial experience in public law, housing law, and/or community care law within legal aid practice, and
•Strong commitment to social justice, harm reduction, and trauma-informed practice.

Experience working in a charity or non‑profit organisation.

About the role
This Best Companies Top 50 mid-sized company and Top10 charity is looking to appoint a Trust Fundraiser (3 days per week) to manage and build relationships with charitable trusts and foundations, raising the funds we need to deliver and grow our support services.
Our Philanthropy Team is an ambitious team with a well-established fundraising programme, playing a significant role in raising the £5.7m a year to fund our support services and with plans to grow income over the next 3-5 years. We have an established portfolio of funders, giving low level gifts to six figure donations and you will have the opportunity to work on large applications.
The Trust Fundraiser will work closely with the Philanthropy Manager to drive Rainbow Trust’s Trusts & Foundations fundraising programme. Main purpose of the role

About Compassion in Dying and the information line service
At Compassion in Dying, we want people to be in control of their end-of-life decisions because no one is better to make them. We support people to make informed decisions, start honest conversations about death and dying with loved ones, and record and revisit their wishes whenever they want to.
Many people tell us they want to be in charge of decisions about their care and treatment, but struggle to access clear information or encounter reluctance to have open conversations about death and dying. Our nurse-led information line exists to change that. We enable people to plan ahead and to be in control of their end-of-life decisions, including in situations where they may no longer be able to make decisions for themselves.
Demand for the service consistently exceeds capacity. We are therefore expanding our clinical team and are looking for two experienced nurses to provide verbal and written information and support that is accurate, clear and practical.
This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse with experience in palliative care and excellent communication skills, able to convey complex information in a straightforward and sensitive way by phone and email. This new permanent role offers the opportunity to contribute to the growth of an expanding information service that delivers direct support and drives improvements in practice.·
Role purpose
·Respond to enquiries to Compassion in Dying’s information service, using clinical knowledge to provide appropriate information and support.
·Promote patient choice and autonomy by enabling people to make informed decisions about their care and treatment, now and in the future, or to advocate for someone close to them.

Organisational Strategy
- Develop a strong collaborative working relationship with the CEO, supporting with strategic decision-making and delivery.

Operations
· Fundraising and Marketing - Plan and deliver fundraising and marketing activities, including digital, to increase engagement and voluntary income via individual donors, clubs, associations, corporate organisations, fundraising events, Trust and Foundations funders and through legacy giving.
· Financial Responsibility - Grow income by careful targeting of the fundraising budget toward cost effective activities such as running appeals, securing legacies and grants, and working with major donors.
· Reporting & analysis - To take the lead in research activity to monitor, evaluate, inform and improve external stakeholder and influencer engagement with OneKind to identify new opportunities.
· People - Work closely with the wider team to ensure income generation is embedded within our policy and campaigns work.

As our dynamic Strategic Funding and Co-financing Advisor, you will oversee a portfolio of restricted funding projects, bringing donors closer to our work through engaging project proposals and reports. You will also act as the global focal point for your portfolio and proactively support country and fundraising teams to drive income growth through strategic advice and guidance.

- Oversee the project cycle, supporting project selection, bid development, and monitoring until closure.

The vacancy
The Housing Officer role is 37.5 hours a week, working shifts between 8am and 8pm Monday-Friday which you will share with two other staff members on an 8-4, 10-6 or 12-8 rota pattern.
The role is based in Colchester.
Your time will be spent working with residents towards independent living by assisting them to claim and maintain benefits, move into work, education or volunteering, learn about successful budgeting, to eat healthily and keep themselves safe and healthy both physically and mentally. You will also interview prospective residents, carry out room checks, fire checks, assist with our food distribution scheme, collect payments and arrears, attend appointments with the young people as and when necessary, take an active role in resident engagement and support the management team.
Who we are and what we do
YMCA Essex has a 44 room, supported housing unit on Magdalen Street in Colchester. We house young people aged 16-25, supporting them towards independent living and a well rounded life. We encourage and support them into work, education or training and to be able to maintain a tenancy and look after themselves when they leave YMCA. Residents can live at the YMCA for a two-year period after which time we assist them in moving onto independent living.
You
Have an active care and concern for the community, work in an inclusive way, welcoming the diverse needs of our young residents. You are tolerant, understanding and non-judgemental. You have an interest in the needs of young people and a thirst to support them towards being the best they can possibly be.
You have experience of working in supported or general needs housing, wellbeing planning, risk assessments, working with young people and a great knowledge of welfare benefits, grants and other sources of income available. You have housing management, rent accounting and tenancy sustainment expertise as well as experience of dealing with anti-social behaviour and resident engagement.
Your IT skills are current with a good understanding of Microsoft packages and Sharepoint and you have an excellent level of education. You are experienced in working in and handling stressful situations. You are flexible and adaptable in regard to working hours and are able to take part in an on-call rota evening and weekend rota. You have a driving licence or can get to Magdalen Street at any time of day or night (if on call) within 30 minutes.
As a great communicator you are able to demonstrate an empathetic and person centred approach, problem solve on a daily basis, work with minimal supervision and with discretion and integrity whilst respecting confidentiality.

We’re looking for a calm, reliable and friendly Night Concierge to join our team based in RBKC (Royal Borough Kensington and Chelsea) to support our residents who have multiple needs including with daily living, mental health, substance and alcohol use, homelessness, and/or offending backgrounds. You’ll help create a safe, welcoming and well run environment overnight, offering reassurance and practical support to residents when they need it most. This role is key to ensuring our services remain secure and responsive throughout the night. You’ll carry out regular safety checks, monitor access, respond to emergencies, and provide helpful handovers to the day team. You’ll also support residents with any queries, maintain clear records, and help keep the environment clean and safe.
