Thank you for your interest in working at Campaign Against Arms Trade (CAAT). We are currently recruiting sabbatical cover for our Advocacy Manager. Working closely with our Research and Campaigns colleagues, you will be responsible for Parliamentary and legal work, and for liaison with relevant partner organisations. 

You will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, to help you build and nurture partnerships with parliamentarians at all levels and with organisations and networks who share CAAT’s goals.

You will have good knowledge of how to use parliamentary procedures to achieve campaign goals, strong experience of monitoring and responding to Parliamentary activity related to core campaign issues. 

Your experience of engaging with individual parliamentarians and with formal consultation processes as part of a wider campaign strategy will be vital in ensuring that CAAT builds on existing support in Parliament to advance our key campaigns and help shift public attitudes towards the arms trade. 

This is a 13-month, four-day per week post, based either in our London office, or working from home (if within easy travelling distance of London - as this role requires regular in person availability in London), with a salary of £47,898 (£59,873 pro rata), including London weighting, plus 8% into a pension that doesn't invest in the arms trade.

The Woodland Trust is looking for an Assistant Outreach Adviser in our South East England team, to assist with delivering conservation impact through the creation, restoration and sustainable management of native wooded habitats on land outside the Trust’s own estate, contributing to the Trust’s objective of landscape scale ecological restoration. 

The Role
•    This is a key role in the South East England team and the role will offer the opportunity to learn on the job, working as part of a wider team providing advice to landowners and land managers, particularly farmers, to increase native tree cover on their landholdings, through creation of new woodland and agroforestry in its broadest sense
•    You will also provide advice on sustainable management of existing wooded habitats on the landholding where appropriate.  
•    Assisting with project management and administration, such as the coordination of tree orders, and liaison with contractors and consultants.
•    Working as part of a team, you’ll enable the delivery of woodland conservation activity outside the Trust’s own estate, including: creation of new native woodland, increasing tree cover outside woods, including through agroforestry, restoration and sustainable management of ancient and native woodland. 
•    This will be through partnerships, direct advice and other means. There will be a particular focus on working with the farming sector. 
•    Liaise with and manage relationships with key contractors, consultants and partners as required, and with other teams across the Woodland Trust. 
•    A company car will be provided for this role.

The Candidate
•    You’ll need experience working in the land management sector with a good understanding of land management issues and a passion for conservation.
•    You’ll be results driven and able to collaborate and work well in a team
•    You’ll need some good knowledge of land management practices, and an ability to understand and engage with landowners and land managers from a variety of different practices and backgrounds.
•    You must have a proactive ‘can-do’ attitude, excellent communication skills, and able to build effective partnerships internally and externally. 
•    A full driving licence is required.

As the Database Officer, you will take responsibility for the administration of financial transactions from various internal and external sources. Additionally, they contribute to developing service standards, follow policies and legislation, report maintenance issues, and undertake additional duties as required, always upholding health and safety rules and procedures.

Here's what the team will be looking for

The role requires demonstrable experience supporting people with mental health and complex needs, along with a strong understanding of recovery approaches and co-production. Staff should be able to design and deliver activities that reduce anxiety, build confidence, and support individuals in creating their own recovery journeys. This includes engaging service users in assessments, co-producing and reviewing support and safety plans, and maintaining accurate monitoring records for internal use and external reporting. A good knowledge of legislation, including welfare reform, the Care Act, and housing pathways, is essential, as well as the ability to handle financial transactions accurately and use IT systems, including MS Office and case management tools.

Flexibility and resilience are also key, with the need to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, while maintaining high service standards in unpredictable or challenging situations. The role requires excellent stakeholder relationship skills and the motivation to deliver consistent, high-quality support. An understanding of basic building safety issues and the ability to identify repairs is desirable. Facilities Supervisor  Salary £32,000 

On site at Southwark, there are five listed multi-function buildings: offices, residential accommodation, function space, storage/archive and the Cathedral. The RC Diocese of Southwark has its administrative services in Bowen House, the site offices and accommodation are housed across Archbishop’s House and Cathedral House with Amigo Hall being a conference/ events space.  It is a complex site both in terms of the nature of the buildings and their uses. 

As well as the Clergy and the Diocese staff, we also have other organisations and groups who use our premises and services, both in support of our aims and to raise funds for building maintenance.

This is an exciting time to join the organisation in this role.  We have embarked on a new strategy, making changes in how we work, particularly to improve our events service.  This role will focus on collaborating across these areas:

• Deliver a great service and spaces to clergy, clients, staff, and all building users
• Support the relationships with our parishioners and other groups
• Ensure the buildings are compliant, safe, clean and well presented at all times
• Deliver excellent services and events internally
• Improve our hospitality provision
• Respond creatively to customer feedback

This role requires someone who can combine technical skills (project implementation, H&S, contractor management, event management) and some physical strength with the soft skills to build relationships, working to deliver great services to clients, staff, and all building users.  It will be for 5 days a week, rostered across 7 days, generally between 8am to 6pm, with regular weekend work, some late nights and early mornings.

Reporting to: 

The line manager for this job is the Head of Site and Facilities, who reports to the Dean of the Cathedral. 

Job Purpose:

To provide efficient, cost-effective and safe maintenance of buildings and facilities for clergy, staff, residents, parishioners and visitors in buildings and outside spaces located on the site. This role will also be responsible for the management of events, primarily in the Cathedral and Amigo Hall.  There are no reports, but this role is one of a team of three, who are essentially ‘hands on’ where the job holder will be expected to ‘do’ as needed and will often work independently as the position is rostered across 7 days

Job Responsibilities:

This job will be responsible for (this list is not exhaustive):

• Site/Facilities
• Creating daily worksheets for 4 staff and checking daily on progress, reporting back to the Head of Facilities weekly on Mondays

• Ensuring catering equipment is clean and pre-prepared on trays ready to be used by team

Communications Officer - Lost Woods of the Low Weald and Downs

The Communications Officer has a key role to play in planning and delivering communications for the Lost Woods of the Low Weald and Downs project. The Communications Officer will create and deliver the annual communications plan, working closely with partners to promote activities and events, write, edit, co-ordinate and publish content across various channels, including the website, social media, press, and print and online marketing materials.
