Senior Direct Marketing Officer - Acquisition
As Senior Direct Marketing Officer, you will operate with a level of autonomy, build excellent agency relationships and deliver outstanding fundraising campaigns to achieve ambitious income targets. A focus on results will be vital but how these are achieved will also form a large part of the role; considering the non-financial measures of quality in addition to more traditional measures of success.
Working with internal teams and external suppliers, you will deliver direct marketing activity across a range of channels and media. You will lead paid media campaigns that drive donations and prize-led support, implementing the associated programmes and products. You will also deliver large-scale projects that strengthen the long-term success of campaigns, while delivering exceptional fundraising activity to achieve ambitious income targets.
In addition to this, you will be responsible for line managing the Acquisition Direct Marketing Executive who will support the Direct Marketing Acquisition team in achieving their targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Campaign Management
· Plan, manage and deliver our Weekly Lottery and Value Exchange campaigns; ensuring they are in market on time, on budget and on brand across a range of channels and media.
· Manage projects that will improve the long-term success of campaigns.
· Deliver motivational fundraiser training and develop engaging fundraiser materials with agency stakeholders to ensure high-quality fundraising.
· Ensure compliance and adherence to regulation and codes of practice is considered in all campaign activity, for example through fundraiser monitoring and engagement activities.
· Work closely with Data and Digital teams to ensure effective processes are worked to and full campaign evaluation is possible.
· Continuous improvement through test and learn principles across all activity.
· Work collaboratively across the charity to deliver and amplify Individual Giving and wider organisational campaigns, maximising impact and income.
· Development of compelling communications and materials to support all activities.
People management
· Management and development of the Acquisition Direct Marketing Executive.
· Ensure direct report has clear, SMART objectives and a development plan in place.
· Complete routine 1-1 meetings and annual appraisals.
· Ensure direct report has goals and a development plan written up which are routinely reviewed.
· Agency relationship management across a variety of partners and suppliers, from building relationships and negotiating, to routine performance reviews.
Planning and budgeting
· Input to annual planning and development of individual giving campaigns.
· Compilation of detailed income and expenditure campaign budgets.
· Work with Direct Marketing Acquisition Manager (Direct Response) in developing the Acquisition programme and strategy.
· Input to quarterly forecasting and regular reporting across a range of financial and non-financial KPIs.
Finance and reporting
· Ensure daily campaign tracking and reporting.
· Routine end of campaign reviews and analysis.
· Ongoing reporting on long-term success measures, such as attrition and ROI.
· Invoice reconciliation and processing for timely payment.
· Non-financial KPI trend reporting, such as opt-out/in rates and quality scoring.
Knowledge, skills and experience needed:

Ways of working:
As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

About the Role
We are seeking an authentic advocate for children’s rights to help drive our influence with government and other stakeholders. You will develop and implement policy change strategies across a range of thematic areas, underpinning the advocacy strategy. Your expertise will shape the development of research, policy and campaign materials to be used by the charity in advocacy for children’s rights and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to shape policy and influence decision makers at a pivotal time for children’s social care in Scotland.

About the NCD Alliance
The NCD Alliance (NCDA) is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Geneva, Switzerland, dedicated to supporting a world free from preventable suffering, disability and death caused by noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). About the role
NCDA is seeking a motivated Policy and Advocacy Officer to support the delivery of a multi-year project focused on advancing national and regional implementation of global noncommunicable disease (NCD) commitments, and to coordinate PAA’s input into global accountability processes, and regional advocacy programs and global campaigns, with a particular focus on government relations and accountability.
The Policy Advocacy and Accountability team (PAA) is looking for a Policy and Advocacy Officer to play a key role in delivering integrated planning across these programs, and key elements of these plans, as outlined:

Tracking NCD Accountability processes and coordinating PAA’s policy development and engagement

Support PAA’s tracking and engagement with the WHO process for the extension of the NCD Global Monitoring Framework (GMF).

Assist in drafting materials, including consultation submissions, policy briefs, and advocacy tool content, to provide information to policymakers and partners.

Support global accountability policy development, coordinating network feedback, and liaising across the PAA unit for detailed advocacy content and inputs in specific impact areas.

Support regional strategy development, including the utilization of existing PAA content and the creation and delivery of advocacy and accountability tools for priority topics.

Coordinate policy inputs from PAA for Capacity Development-led activities, primarily the regional alliance convenings and NCDA’s Global Forum in 2028.

The Role
The Project Manager is an adept and organised professional, esteemed within the nuclear policy community for their level. Responsible for overseeing a discrete package of work, they must demonstrate a clear understanding and alignment with broader programme goals, strategies, and objectives. The role will report to the Programme Manager.
Taking charge of project deliverables, the Project Manager will navigate the entire project cycle, from generating fundraising ideas to developing them further and building knowledge of funding relationships. The role will also include deputising for the Programme Manager during periods of absence, ensuring continuity of delivery, external engagement, and team support as required.
The Project Manager will take responsibility for the South Asia portfolio under the Responsibilities and Global Governance (RGG) Programme. The RGG Programme works to strengthen global security by supporting the development of responsible governance frameworks for weapons and dual-use technologies in cross-cutting operational domains. Under the South Asia portfolio, the RGG Programme has facilitated research and dialogue with the Indian and Pakistani nuclear policy communities with a focus on regional crisis prevention, management, and de-escalation practices.
The Project Manager should possess a solid understanding of global security and conflict resolution and a deep understanding and demonstrable knowledge of military security dynamics in South Asia, coupled with a proven ability to design and execute high-quality project management and research. The ideal candidate is an established researcher with a specialisation in nuclear weapons issues and South Asia. As the candidate will be expected to facilitate India-Pakistan nuclear dialogues, it is important that they will show an ability to engage impartially with all parties.
It is expected that the Project Manager will have solo authored, policy relevant, publications. The Project Manager should possess the skills to expand their network in their area of specialisation, benefiting BASIC, and be capable of line managing other team members within their project.
This role necessitates a formal project or programme management qualification – BASIC will provide the Project Manager with such training and qualifications if they do not already possess one. The Volunteer Management team is responsible for embedding an organisational approach to volunteer engagement which enables volunteers to feel inspired, valued, supported, and connected to the charity, where they are a vital part of our community.
The Volunteering Administrator plays a significant part in contributing to the success of the team to deliver key parts of the volunteer journey (recruiting, induction, training, supporting, and retaining volunteers). In the 1980s, high unemployment and steep inflation was contributing to a shocking rise in youth homelessness across London. Thousands of young people were sleeping rough every night, with many areas notoriously dubbed “cardboard cities” due to the visible rise in street homelessness. About the role
As a Research Grants Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the research funding cycle, from application and peer review through to award management and post‑award administration. You’ll work closely with the Research Grants Manager, internal teams, external experts, and funded researchers to maintain high standards of governance, transparency, and impact across all our research funding activities.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the development, implementation, and management of Macmillan’s research grants programme.
- Create, update, and publish key documentation for each funding round.
- Coordinate expert review panels, including scheduling, logistics, and budget oversight.
- Provide secretariat support for funding panels, including preparing papers, taking minutes, and compiling applicant feedback.
- Manage post‑award processes such as grant agreements, financial tracking, and change requests.
- Monitor reporting compliance and work with Finance to ensure accurate expenditure records.
- Act as the primary point of contact for funded academics, supporting timely reporting and dissemination of research outputs.
- Work with the Communications team to promote research findings and their impact.
- Support internal and external events to strengthen the research community.
- Represent Macmillan at academic conferences and sector events.
About you
The successful candidate will bring:
- Experience in research administration or grant management within an academic, charity, or funding organisation.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with experience interpreting data and maintaining accurate records to support effective monitoring of funded projects.
- Experience of providing secretariat support for committees or panels
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and confidence working with a range of stakeholders.
- An understanding of research funding processes and a willingness to learn and develop within a growing research function.

This is a high-impact role where your insight and influence will help shape the future of debt policy and support vulnerable communities.
Location: This is a remote role, with regular travel required to Cardiff and travel to London once a month for meetings/events.
What you’ll be doing
- You’ll lead targeted lobbying campaigns and produce compelling evidence-based reports, briefings, and articles to influence public policy and regulatory practices.
- You’ll build and manage relationships with the Welsh Government and Parliament, and other influential figures and organisations across Wales.
- You’ll monitor developments in legislation, policy, and research—providing strategic advice on emerging threats and opportunities.
- You’ll represent StepChange at high-profile meetings, conferences, and media engagements, acting as a trusted voice for the charity.
- You’ll organise thought leadership events and roundtables and support senior leaders with speeches and briefings that drive our advocacy forward.

About you
- Significant experience in public affairs or public policy within Wales.
