Salary Banding: £28,050 per annum with potential to progress through salary band. Plus additional payment for overnight shifts on occasion. (£85 per night shift required / £50 per on call shift)

Herts Young Homeless is an independent charity and has been supporting vulnerable young people in Hertfordshire since 1998. We are professional, passionate, collaborative and supportive charity that provides guidance to young people in need of support.
Future Roots Supported accommodation is located in Welwyn Garden City. We are looking fo a Supported Accommodation Worker who will support the 5 Housemates to learn the skills they require to live independently, whilst ensuring the accommodation is a safe and homely environment to live in. The role will require a reasonable degree of flexibility, to respond to the needs of the house. This may include changes to working patterns or additional ‘sleep in’ nights’’ paid at an additional rate.’’support.

You will help co-ordinate and deliver a solution focused training package, that encourages the young person to take responsibility for all areas of their lives and promote healthy, successful outcomes. You will support them to achieve a successful move on in their life and you will be instrumental in ensuring that those living in the house accept and abide by the house rules.

The challenges they face can test even the most resilient and they often lack the support needed to see them through difficult times; leaving them stressed, anxious and overwhelmed. What will you be doing?
- Manage a varied caseload with differing timescales and deadlines.
- Be involved in the screening and interview process of potential new Housemates.
- Build a professional and trusting relationship with the young people to enable to them to engage with the support and improve their situation and prospects.
- Provide 1-1 and group support and opportunities to learn identified life skills for independent living, using a range of tools and skills, including hyh’s training package. This work will include support around:
- Understanding their rights and responsibilities in relation to accommodation.
- Understanding how their choices and behaviour impacts their situation.
- Providing advice and support around wellbeing and health.
- Provide guidance and assistance in achieving further education, obtaining an apprenticeship, voluntary and paid employment.
- Financial support around areas such a rent, budgeting and income.
- Practical Life skills
- Provide advice and assistance with any other support needs that arise, referring and liaise with other agencies
- Providing group sessions on relevant topics.
- To address breaches of house rules and unacceptable behaviour, including issuing verbal and written warnings to young people in line with hyh policies and procedures.
- To identify any risk factors and ensure appropriate measures are in place
- Report any safeguarding concerns to your line-manager and refer as appropriate.
- Provide additional ‘sleep in nights’ as and when required.
- To work collaboratively with the other Accommodation Worker/hyh staff to ensure consistent, high-quality support is provided to all Housemates.
- Ensure all service administration tasks are completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.
- To promote and facilitate Youth Engagement across the service.
- Engage effectively in multi-agency working, developing collaborative relationships and partnerships with relevant staff in a range of agencies to broker and co-ordinate support for young people.

- After probationary period has been completed, take part in the on-call rota.

You will be joining Women in Prison’s new fundraising team which secures funding from a range of sources including individual donors, corporate supporters, and charitable trusts and foundations. Salary and Progression
Trainee Debt Advisor starting salary of £25,810 with the opportunity to progress to a Debt Advisor role with a salary of £27,960 usually within 12 months. Further progression is available to a Senior Debt Advisor with a salary of £29,926, usually after 2 years (based on meeting necessary performance and development criteria).

As a Trainee Debt Advisor you will complete a comprehensive programme of classroom training, exams and on the job sign off to equip you to be able to bring expert advice and support our clients in their journey to becoming debt free.
Once you step into one team, you will be working in a fast paced, but rewarding environment. As a debt advisor you will be creating bespoke advice, crafted to help each client gain greater control over their finances. Create a client budget from information gathered by local CAP staff, reviewing documentation, identifying further queries and applying guidance to expenditure

To advise clients on their best options to deal with their financial difficulties. This includes formulating a strategy to become debt free, as well as broader advice relevant to their financial situation

Background
Pesticide Action Network UK (PAN UK) is the only charity in the UK focused solely on tackling the problems caused by pesticides and promoting safe and sustainable alternatives in agriculture, urban areas, homes and gardens. It is an independent, non-profit organisation, which works nationally and internationally to eliminate the use of the most hazardous pesticides, reduce dependence on pesticides overall, and to increase the adoption of sustainable alternatives to chemical pest control.
Our Head of Policy & Campaigns leads our work in the UK which aims to better protect both the environment and human health from pesticide harms. Through policy work, lobbying, research, media and strategic communications, we aim to influence a range of decision makers, from the UK government and devolved administrations to local councils and the country’s biggest supermarkets. The role also includes working alongside PAN UK’s Director to secure funding to cover the UK team’s salaries, overheads and activities. It is an incredibly varied role, involving everything from leading on strategy development for the UK team while also being intricately involved in writing and editing publications and executing other activities such as events and mobilising the public.
The Head of Policy & Campaigns is part of PAN UK’s Senior Management Team (along with our Director, Head of Finance and Governance and Head of International Programmes) which sets the direction of the organisation and ensures it is well-managed and delivering on our mission.
Specific responsibilities
1. Advocacy, policy and campaigning

Lead the UK team in developing advocacy strategies, and fully utilising opportunities to make progress towards achieving PAN UK’s mission.

Conduct high quality research and analysis aimed at influencing decision makers. Ensure it is presented in a way which is both technically accurate and compelling.

Develop and/or maintain expertise in pesticide policy with the aim of being able to represent PAN UK credibly in a range of external fora.

Build relationships with a wide range of decision makers including government ministers and civil servants, parliamentarians, devolved administrations, local councils and supermarkets.

Ensure that the organisation’s policy positions on UK pesticide issues are clear, well thought out and will lead to positive change.

2. Communications

Secure media coverage for PAN UK outputs, including writing press releases and liaising with journalists. Provide written quotes for media outlets and give interviews for radio and TV.

Write materials including policy reports, political briefings and public-facing communications such as blogs and supporter emails. Edit and sign off all outputs from the UK team, ensuring they are both well-written and accurate.

Conduct public speaking at a range of events, from high-profile events in parliament to community gatherings (and everything in between!).

Work closely with PAN UK’s Communications Manager to provide content for the organisation’s website and social media channels. Support the Communications Manager in their broader work which includes raising PAN UK’s public profile and leading on individual giving.
3. Fundraising and financial management

Raise sufficient funds to cover the UK team’s salaries, activity costs and contribution to organisational overheads.

Care Support Worker – Help People Live Their Best Lives Every Day

What You’ll Do
- Support people with personal care, health needs, and daily living tasks
- Help individuals express themselves and make choices that matter to them
- Encourage hobbies, interests, and community activities
- Build strong relationships with families, friends, and professionals
- Work flexibly across services—including evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and team meetings
- Promote health, safety, and uphold quality standards
What You’ll Need
- A kind heart and a compassionate mindset
- A sense of humour and a resilient attitude
- Great communication skills and a team spirit
- Willingness to work flexibly, including unsociable hours
- Respect for diversity and individual needs
- Ability to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines
- A satisfactory DBS check
- Experience in care or support (voluntary or paid) – desirable but not essential
- Care Certificate or NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care – desirable but not essential

This role follows a 24/7 working pattern, which includes overnight shifts, weekends, and bank holidays. You’ll need to be flexible and ready to support people when they need you most.
