Director of Fundraising

We are seeking an experienced Director of Fundraising to lead income generation and build strong relationships with major donors and corporate partners.

About the role
The Director of Fundraising role sits on the Senior Leadership Team and has responsibility for delivering a fundraising programme with a target of around £2m per year. You will lead the fundraising function and personally manage a portfolio of major donors and corporate partners.

Key responsibilities include

• Generating substantial income to meet annual fundraising targets
• Managing and stewarding major donors, high net worth individuals and corporate partners
• Supporting trusts and grants fundraising to deliver high quality funding bids
• Leading and developing the fundraising team, setting KPIs and income targets
• Developing and delivering a fundraising strategy aligned to the wider organisational strategy
• Preparing reports and presenting to the Board of Trustees and relevant committees
• Ensuring compliance with fundraising legislation and codes of practice
• Working with partner organisations and networks to share best practice
• Acting as a senior leader within the organisation and role modelling organisational values

About you
As Director of Fundraising You will be an experienced fundraising professional with a strong track record of securing significant income from major donors and partners. Essential experience includes:

• Experience of securing six figure donations from major donors or corporate partners
• A strong track record of meeting challenging fundraising targets
• Experience of managing donor pipelines and aligning supporter interests with organisational need
• Experience of working with Trustees or senior volunteers
• Line management experience and the ability to lead and motivate a team
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills
• A strategic and target driven approach to fundraising
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Experience of using a fundraising database or CRM system

About the organisation
The organisation provides open access youth services for young people aged 8 to 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs. It operates six days a week and offers a wide range of activities and targeted support. Fundraising is essential to cover the majority of its operating costs, and the charity is well established locally with strong community and philanthropic support.

The organisation is part of a wider national network, working collaboratively with partner organisations to increase funding and share best practice.

About School of Food
Set up in March 2020, Hackney School of Food (HSoF) is a food education hub on the grounds of Mandeville Primary School in Clapton, East London. Our mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of children, families, and our community by developing practical skills and confidence in food growing and cooking, from seed to spoon.

In 2023, we became a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC), and have since grown our team, strengthened our governance and expanded our facilities with the addition of a new Garden Room, increasing capacity for workshops, dining and events. We are now well-positioned to grow and diversify our income streams, which enables us to subsidise our schools and community programmes.

Role Overview

This brand-new role offers an exciting opportunity to develop and deliver Hackney School of Food’s commercial and marketing strategy, with a focus on growing key income streams including corporate engagement, paid workshops and events, and venue hire. You will shape how HSoF positions itself externally and how we grow our trading income to subsidise our food education community offer.

While this is currently a freelance role, it is not a transactional position; you’ll collaborate closely with our team, supported by and reporting to our Managing Director. This is a role for someone who can think commercially and creatively and then roll up sleeves to put strategy into action. You’ll believe in our mission and feel passionately about helping Hackney School of Food grow and thrive. Starting as a six-month contract, there is potential for the role to become longer term as the organisation grows.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Income Generation

● Work with the Managing Director to develop and deliver a clear, mission-aligned commercial and marketing strategy.

● Grow earned income streams including corporate engagement, paid workshops and events, and venue hire, helping to sustain and expand schools and community programmes.

● Help shape and refine commercial offers, including pricing and packages, ensuring they are appropriate, achievable and aligned with our values and capacity.

● Contribute to commercial planning by sharing insight on what works and areas of impact.

Relationships and bookings

● Confidently present and explain our commercial offers to key audiences in a way that reflects who we are and why our work matters.

● Proactively identify and chase opportunities for new corporate partners that align with our work.

● Guide enquiries through to bookings, encouraging repeat engagement and longer-term relationships

● Work closely with the wider team to ensure commercial offers are deliverable, well-priced and aligned with organisational capacity.

Marketing & visibility

● Drive work to grow awareness of Hackney School of Food, create compelling externally facing marketing content targeted to the right audiences, across various channels.

● Help capture and share stories, feedback and learning from our commercial activity, support consistent messaging that connects our commercial work to our social impact.

● Conceive, promote and deliver events to market our space, both online and offline.

● Monitor and report on the impact of our external comms, sharing insights with our team to help refine offers, processes and focus over time.

Your experience

Essential

● Genuine passion for Hackney School of Food’s mission and values.

● Experience in income generation, commercial activity and/or promoting events.

● Proven experience in delivering a successful marketing strategy to support income generation.

● An existing network of relationships, or the confidence and credibility to build them, across organisations, businesses or sectors aligned with food, education or social impact.

Desirable

● Experience of working in a start-up, social enterprise or in a food or education context.

● Familiarity with Hackney and East London’s community, cultural or business landscape.

● Confident managing content and organisational activity on social and digital media platforms

● Understanding of how evaluation or feedback can support learning and improvement.

Outputs & Success Measures (First 6 Months – Indicative)
We recognise that Hackney School of Food is at a growth stage and that commercial income is shaped by many factors, including capacity, seasonality and market conditions. These outputs are intended as guiding success measures rather than rigid targets.

By the end of the initial six-month contract, the Commercial & Marketing Lead will have:

● Produced and agreed a clear Commercial & Marketing Delivery Plan for Hackney School of Food, setting priorities for growing our commercial income in a way that aligns with our mission.

● Refined our core commercial offers and packages (e.g. corporate away days, team volunteering, venue hire, paid public workshops), ensuring they are appealing and realistic to deliver.

● Built a healthy pipeline by identifying and actively pursuing 10–15 well-aligned commercial leads, with a focus on quality of fit as well as volume.

● Supported a meaningful increase in commercial enquiries, alongside capturing learning about what kinds of outreach, messaging and partnerships resonate most.

● Created a suite of core marketing assets for commercial activity (e.g. simple decks).

● Delivered at least two targeted promotional pushes (for example around corporate away days), testing approaches and learning what works best.

● Increased the visibility of our commercial offers across agreed channels (e.g. website, LinkedIn, email and partners), with light-touch reporting on reach.

● Supported Hackney School of Food to transition towards a higher volume of commercial bookings, strengthening operational processes and ways of working so growth is sustainable and doesn’t place undue pressure on delivery teams.

● Produced a short end-of-contract reflection summarising what’s worked well, what’s been challenging, and recommendations for the next phase of growth and investment.

Practicalities

Day rate: Subject to experience.
Location: We’re a place-based organisation and our team works on site in Hackney. We are open to exploring more flexible working given the freelance nature of this role but require at least 1 day per week in the office during the first three months.

About the Role

We're recruiting a Positive Engagement Worker to join the team in Croydon in a 27 bed residential property which specialises in forensic mental health, complex needs and dual diagnosis. The team offers psychologically informed housing and resettlement support that comes with additional help for individuals’ specific needs. Our forensic mental health step down services consist of four individual sites which cater for high and medium support for both, men and women. 

In this role, you will be at the centre of researching, sourcing, and providing various opportunities for our residents. This can include partnering with external employers for employment opportunities, liaising with colleges for courses and upskilling opportunities, or community based projects which residents can get involved in. The role is dynamic and you can put your own ideas forward to bring new ideas to the team to help support our residents have access to wider resources. You will work closely with the rest of the care and support teams to enhance the opportunities available to our residents. 

Some Key Responsibilities Include:

• Plan and deliver various activities which includes within the service and outside in the local community to help gain a sense of community and belonging. This can include days out to museums, community events and other areas of interest by our residents
• Plan in service events to bring residents together which could include group cooking sessions, games days, sporting events, and religious festivals.
• Keeping support plans up to date using our online portal
• Carrying out housing management support including welfare benefits support

We're looking for someone who has a true passion to support those who face challenges with their forensic mental health, complex needs and dual diagnosis. You will be able to build rapport and trusting relations in a professional setting, and able to build positive outcomes. The Woodland Trust is seeking two Outreach Advisers to develop partnerships with landowners and organisations to provide practical conservation advice and support across Northern Ireland.

The Role:
• Provide expert technical advice to landowners and farmers on woodland creation, ancient woodland restoration, and sustainable management, ensuring all work aligns with the UK Forestry Standard and Woodland Trust principles.
• Lead site-level assessments and surveys to design diverse projects, ranging from small-scale planting and innovative agroforestry to large, landscape-scale conservation schemes.
• Guide landowners through funding mechanisms, identifying appropriate grants and support offers to increase confidence and uptake in nature-positive interventions.
• Manage the full project lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, contractor oversight, and reporting to ensure delivery is on time and cost-effective.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to secure funding and share best practices in wooded habitat innovation.
• Utilize GIS and CRM systems to maintain accurate records of site assessments, client contacts, and project progress.
• Collaborate across the Trust (Outreach, Estate, Policy, and Comms) to develop new engagement strategies and maximize publicity for conservation successes.
• Champion best practices in woodland management, identifying opportunities to demonstrate innovation and communicate these wins to a wider audience.

The Candidate: 
• Experience of working in the land management sector, preferably in woodland conservation, and a working knowledge of land management funding streams including grants.
• You have an enthusiasm for the environment and share our core values-Grow Together, Explore, Focus and Make it Count.
• Proven ability to successfully manage and deliver landscape-scale projects, including ensuring targets are met on time and within budget.
• Experience of overseeing a complex and diverse programme of activity and working as part of a team to ensure it is delivered effectively. 
• You’ll have extensive experience in delivering woodland creation both practically on the ground, and through advising others. You’ll also have experience working on landscape scale projects ideally where this engages with individual farmers and landowner, organisations, businesses or councils.
• You’ll have a collaborative approach, with the ability to work with multiple teams, building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders effectively. 
• Experience of partnership working, and excellent skills in networking and relationship development and management.
• Track record of building and maintaining positive relationships with landowners, partner organisations, contractors and local communities.
• The role is based in Northern Ireland and will require travel to sites and offices. A driving licence will be required.

We’re looking for an experienced fundraiser and team leader to join us as Head of Development (maternity cover). You will lead a talented team of seven which cover Fundraising (Memberships, Legacies, Grants, Trusts and Foundations and Philanthropy) and Marketing (Communications, Campaigns & Marketing). 

A particular focus of this 12-month contract will be developing the fundraising strategy for a (£5-6m) capital campaign for the transformation of Shropshire Wildlife Trust’s Grade II and II* buildings, at the heart of Shrewsbury.

We are looking for a Schools & Community Fundraiser who knows how to spark ideas, recruit supporters, build relationships, and turn passion into real impact.

This is a varied, people-focused role where no two days are the same — from school assemblies and community groups to supporting brilliant local fundraising ideas.

• Visiting schools across North and South Lanarkshire to deliver assemblies, attend cheque presentations, and engage young people to support our fundraising activities.
• Building and developing strong fundraising relationships with schools, nurseries, community groups, and third-party supporters.

• Developing community events and representing St Andrew’s Hospice in our local communities.

About the role

Working closely with the Head of Finance and Fundraising and Senior Leadership Team, you will plan and deliver a programme of challenge events. You will also support individual and community fundraisers and build strong relationships with supporters and businesses.

About you  

In this role you will support the front-line improvement project by analysing business processes and ways of working, identifying opportunities and helping stakeholders define needs & priorities.

• Work closely with hospital teams and other stakeholders to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Support implementation, testing, and monitoring of changes, identifying solutions and opportunities for scaling.
• Produce and maintain data‑driven reports, dashboards and KPI tracking to inform decision‑making.
• Create and update clear documentation, including SOPs and process guides.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and assess systems for integration or improvement.
• Ensure full compliance with PDSA policies while supporting prioritisation of front‑line improvement work.

This is a full‑time position working 35 hours per week on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role will require occasional travel typically a few times per month to PDSA sites for visits or team meetings.

We’re seeking someone with: 

• Demonstrated experience applying business analysis tools and methodologies to drive process improvements.
• Strong background in creating comprehensive process documentation and developing robust business cases.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, including the ability to lead co‑creation workshops and collaborative activities.
• The confidence to interpret data and insights and convert them into practical, outcome-focused solutions.
• Experience working closely with front‑line teams in operational, healthcare, social care, or veterinary settings is beneficial, though not essential.
• A Business Analysis qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.

About the role

You’ll be working on direct marketing campaigns that engage and inspire people to donate. And make it as easy as possible for them to choose the way they give. As part of the team, you’ll be innovative in a changing fundraising and external environment to achieve ambitious annual income targets.

You’ll assist with and, when required, project manage direct marketing activities through campaign, project, and agency and supplier management in order to retain existing donors and acquire new ones. To ensure everyone feels good about their donation.

This role will primarily have a focus on digital fundraising and regular giving at Parkinson’s UK. 

What you’ll do

• Assist with and, when required, project manage direct marketing campaigns, both online and offline, maximising income through acquisition and stewardship communications to secure one-off and regular gifts. 

• Manage relationships with external agencies working on online and offline campaigns.

• Support the Senior Individual Giving Officers in achieving strategic objectives, monitoring income and expenditure and using database analysis to inform and improve the individual giving programme.

• Integrate the direct marketing programme into Fundraising and Experience Directorate activities and support the overall Parkinson’s UK strategic plan.

What you’ll bring

• Proven experience of successfully scheduling and managing campaigns to deliver results against agreed objectives and targets.

• Excellent copywriting, creative and proofreading skills for both online and offline materials.

• Experience of operating in a modern digital workplace, including using digital tools, platforms and techniques to work collaboratively and productively. 

• Ability to review and evaluate data and campaign results and pull out key trends to inform future work.

• Logical thought processes and attention to detail.
