RSTMH is a charity and membership society for those working or interested in tropical medicine and global health, and currently have around 2,000 members and Fellows from more than 100 countries, with a network of more than 10,000 involved with our work in some way. We are looking for an experienced Membership Manager who will help us manage all aspects of our membership programme. This involves maintaining high levels of retention and developing and delivering new recruitment strategies for members across the world.

The role will also focus on developing membership journey programmes to ensure our members receive a top quality service from the Society and that all membership processes are undertaken with efficiency, energy and effectiveness.

The Membership Manager will also play a crucial role in ensuring that we are promoting RSTMH, and its membership offer, to our members and supporters. This person would be the first point of contact for our members and so must be professional, a sound communicator and efficient in their approach.

Part of this role involves creating policies and processes to ensure members feel valued at each stage of their journey with RSTMH, developing new marketing products and materials for recruiting and retaining members where necessary.

The successful applicant will have membership management experience within a relevant charity or learned society and will relish the opportunity to take on a new challenge, working on their own initiative for much of the time.

The role

• Lead on developing and implementing current strategies to increase members of RSTMH, including monitoring and evaluating performance against plans and KPIs
• Analyse, identify and develop plans to optimise member journeys
• Manage enquiries from current/prospective members in a professional, timely manner, to agreed service targets
• Cultivate strong relationships with members and understand their specific needs so that RSTMH can support them most effectively via targeted communications
• Establish and maintain systems to report and evaluate RSTMH’s membership retention and recruitment success
• Deliver reports to keep the team, CEO and Board up to date with progress on membership activities and strategy
• Support the Senior Manager with leading our CRM (CiviCRM) development work
• Work with the team to develop activities and marketing campaigns to improve membership value, recruitment and retention take-up, achieving target conversion rates from other activity areas and feeding into relevant strategies and communications
• Collaborate with department Managers to increase membership recruitment within their stakeholder groups
• Develop and oversee communication templates for members, and ensure these are kept up to date
• Keep up to date with best practice in membership management
• Ensure the RSTMH website, journals, materials and other channels have up to date membership information
• Work with a third-party finance company to ensure membership subscription payments and renewals are processed efficiently and effectively, and ensure payment processes are fit for purpose, including payments from other currencies
• Assist with the agenda and delivery of the International Members Committee to ensure RSTMH’s offering to members and Fellows fulfils the overarching Society strategy and supports membership goals
• Work closely with the Communications Manager to commission and create content for the bi-weekly Members newsletter and membership recruitment campaigns
• Represent RSTMH at relevant events to promote membership and track success of these activities
• Explore new opportunities to expand membership, through new membership types, marketing opportunities or any other means

Person specification

• Passion and commitment to the work and goals of the Society
• At least 3 years' experience of working in a membership role, with experience of recruitment and retention campaigns
• Experience of working in a learned society or membership organisation
• At least 2 years’ experience using CRMs (specific experience with CiviCRM and SearchKit would be highly desirable)
• Experience of developing and delivering successful membership programmes that have increased recruitment and demonstrably reduced attrition.
• Experience of creating compelling messages to different audiences
• Highly organised, with ability to self-plan and prioritise workloads
• Ability to communicate technical details to non-technical people

 As Finance Manager at The Sussex Beacon, you will be joining a small but agile senior management team helping us to drive forwards our strategy and business planning.

Trusts & Foundations

• Leading a pipeline of UK and global trusts and foundations and other grantmakers, including researching and cultivating new opportunities, developing proposals, coordinating internal inputs and submitting high-quality bids

The Role

As Senior Fundraising Manager (Major Giving), you will lead the development and implementation of an ambitious new Major Giving strategy to secure and maximise funds from high-net-worth individuals. Your focus will be on nurturing relationships with existing donors while identifying and engaging new prospects, driving initiatives including Giving Circles and Development Boards.

You will work closely with senior leadership, Trustees, and key stakeholders to craft compelling cases for support, aligning with YMCA’s ambitious new housing strategy and broader organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of major donors, developing tailored engagement strategies to inspire long-term support.
• Plan and execute donor stewardship activities, including bespoke events, face-to-face meetings, and personalised communications.
• Work with senior leadership and Trustees to build strong relationships with philanthropists and high-value supporters.
• Develop and deliver compelling proposals, impact reports, and updates to donors.
• Identify and research prospective major donors, developing strategies to engage them effectively.
• Implement YMCA’s ambitious Major Giving Strategy which projects an ever more important focus for this area.
• Oversee the Major Giving income and expenditure budget, providing accurate forecasts and performance reports.
• Collaborate with colleagues across fundraising teams to align strategies and maximise income opportunities.
• Ensure robust data management within the CRM database, adhering to GDPR and best practices.
• Work cross-functionally to develop new fundraising products and giving opportunities, ensuring high-value philanthropy is embedded across the organisation.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated, strategic, and personable fundraising professional with a proven track record of securing major gifts. You will be confident in building relationships with high-net-worth individuals and passionate about delivering exceptional donor experiences.

You will have:

• Significant experience in major donor fundraising, with a track record of securing five- and six-figure gifts.
• Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to engage and influence high-value supporters.
• Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with experience in developing and implementing fundraising strategies.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to create compelling cases for support.
• Budget management and forecasting experience, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
• Experience working with senior stakeholders, including Trustees and senior leadership teams.
• Knowledge of philanthropy trends, donor motivations, and fundraising best practices.

Main Purpose of Job

We are looking for a motivated and energetic individual to deliver a series of ‘Tier 1’ healthy living courses to local adults with learning disabilities. These courses will incorporate evidence-based nutritional advice, basic cooking skills, and exercise.

Each session will include personalised communication and support based upon the needs of a wide range of participants. The Healthy Living Coach will provide the information, resources and encouragement that will enable these individuals to make positive, lasting changes in their lifestyle.

Responsibilities and Duties specific to this role

1. Support the Health Project Manager with the delivery and monitoring of the Healthy Living Project.
2. Deliver accessible health and wellbeing training sessions for adults with people with learning disabilities and/or autism in community venues across Wandsworth with a focus on cooking practice, nutrition, physical activity, and behaviour change.
3. Support the Health Project Manager with all administrative tasks to support the smooth delivery of the Healthy Living Project.
4. Promote Generate’s Health Training and easy read work.

The successful candidate will have experience of facilitating accessible sessions to support adults with learning disabilities in community venues, experience of using person-centred approaches with people with a learning disability and/or autism and have the ability to travel to training locations within South London (Wandsworth in particular).

About the role

As Regional Net Zero Carbon Fundraising Officer, you will lead a collaborative and strategic approach to NZC fundraising across the region. You will work closely with diocesan NZC teams, environmental officers, church buildings staff, clergy, and national colleagues to identify funding opportunities and secure essential investment for a wide range of decarbonisation initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain a pipeline of fundable NZC projects across the five dioceses.
• Prepare funding applications and proposals, ensuring all required documentation is gathered.
• Build strong relationships with funders, local authorities, Net Zero Hubs and community energy groups.
• Create and update a regional directory of NZC funding opportunities for dioceses and parishes.
• Provide training, guidance and clear communication on fundraising best practice, including promoting opportunities through diocesan channels.
• Collaborate widely across diocesan teams, national NZC colleagues and fundraising networks, sharing learning and supporting partnership working.

What We're Looking For

• You will bring expertise in fundraising, exceptional relationship‑building skills, and a strong understanding of the environmental or charitable funding landscape. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
• Degree‑level qualification or equivalent experience, with a strong track record of securing grants from statutory and other funders.
• Ability to build effective relationships with funders and key decision‑makers.
• Confident communicator (written and verbal) with excellent IT skills.
• Strong organisational skills, able to manage deadlines and balance multiple priorities.
• Collaborative, diplomatic and sensitive in working with diverse colleagues and church contexts.
• Understanding of environmental and church‑related fundraising.
