Help keep our day centre and night shelter for people experiencing homelessness run smoothly and effiiciently. 

About the role 

The Operations Coordinator will play an important role in the smooth running of the day centre and night shelter. Working with the Operations Lead, the post holder will secure a diverse and active cohort of volunteers able to fill all the necessary shifts, ensure the building is well maintained and manage the stock of necessary provisions so that guests are adequately provided for. We particularly welcome those with lived experience of homelessness who are able to bring their ‘expertise through experience’ to the role.

Key responsibilities:

Volunteers

• Work with the Operations Lead in the recruitment, training and onboarding of our volunteers, coordinating any relevant checks as required
• Manage volunteer rotas for all our projects: ensuring all shifts are filled in a timely fashion
• Contribute to our engagement with volunteers to ensure they have the best possible experience. This includes supporting the Operations Lead in managing the volunteer advisory group and the provision of training and development of volunteers
• Ensure the volunteer CRM system is kept up to date with all aspects of volunteer data and contribute ideas and actions to improve the process
• Contribute to regular volunteer communication including volunteer newsletters
• Contribute to reports for trustees and other stakeholders on our volunteers and their contribution to the smooth running of the centre.

Premises

• Timely reporting of any damage to the property, fixtures and fittings and liaising with the local authority and repair teams
• Undertake actions as required to ensure the health and safety of the premises, guests, staff, and volunteers. This includes fire alarm tests and fire drills, emergency lighting tests, acting as a fire warden, security alarm tests, and any other health and safety aspects of the premises.

Logistics and administration

• Undertake the ordering of food, stocking of food donations, and timely communications to volunteer cooks
• Ensure all costs are properly recorded and shared with our bookkeeper
• Undertake other administrative tasks as required.

Organisational engagement

• Contribute to organisational strategic planning and review of progress
• Contribute to the development of grant proposals and reporting as required
• Contribute to the development of relevant organisational policies and procedures
• Develop collaborative working relationships with all staff and volunteers.

Working closely with the Disability Project Manager, the Liaison Officer will play a crucial role in the Church of England's commitment to creating an inclusive and accessible environment for all. The focus is on delivering highly effective communications, training, and support, with a special emphasis on disability and accessibility. The role involves working with various groups, including the CMDDP, Disability Task Group, and Deaf Ministry Task Group, as well as Diocesan Disability Officers, to ensure an inclusive church environment.

Job Title: Project Co-Ordinator

Overview of the post

To work as part of the Neighbourhood Support Team (NST) co-ordinating and developing a wellbeing programme for the benefit of the Braunstone Community.

Main responsibilities and duties

To:

1. Coordinate and develop a wellbeing programme that supports the mental health and wellbeing of NST service users and the wider Braunstone community of LE3 1.

2. Support individual service user wellbeing by referring into activity delivered by NST and other local community partners.

3. Undertake regular wellbeing check-ins with service users to monitor progress and impact of engagement with wellbeing activity, utilising WEMWBS to measure outcomes.

4. Update the company’s CRM system with participant information in line with GDPR and record progress and impact.

5. Develop, implement and maintain effective monitoring and recording systems: capturing and recording data to demonstrate the programme reach, providing reports and other information as required.

6. Support the Service Manager to maintain accurate budgets and financial records especially for monitoring funding grant returns.

7. Support the Service Manager in the development of funding bids to support delivery and expansion of the wellbeing programme.

8. Build and maintain partnerships which will support the development of wellbeing programmes.

9. Source, arrange and co-ordinate facilitators and practitioners suitable to deliver any planned activity.

10.  Ensure that adequate risk assessments are undertaken prior to any activities and that confidentiality and safeguarding protocols are followed.

Title: Fundraising Manager

Responsible to: Director/Head of Operations

Hours: 14 hours per week  

Salary: £14,000-£16,000 (pro rata based on £35,000-40,000 FTE) (depending on experience and qualifications)

BIAS is a leading local Irish charity which has supported England’s largest community in Brent for over 45 years. We deliver our support across London through our welfare advice drop-in service, our active ageing clubs and our Be-a-Friend volunteer scheme. This is an exciting new role in which you will proactively generate and grow fundraising income across all fundraising streams to enable us to continue supporting the most vulnerable members of the Irish community. You will support our fundraising strategy by contributing to digital communications and creative content across all channels, in cooperation with project delivery teams. The role will play a central part in raising awareness and growing supporter engagement through digital  campaigns, donor events, individual giving initiatives and the development of relationships with local businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver BIAS’s community fundraising strategy.
• Develop and implement a varied portfolio of events, community fundraising activities and campaigns, all of which reflect the spirit of BIAS.
• Explore marketing opportunities to raise the profile of the charity.
• Ensure relevant processes are in place to deliver successful, profitable community fundraising activities.
• Oversee the management of fundraising systems and platforms in order to create the best possible experience for donors and participants.
• Develop a robust supporter journey for community fundraisers which leaves them with an excellent experience and generates a long-term relationship with BIAS.

To achieve these objectives, the post holder will be expected to:

• Plan, budget, coordinate and attend an annual community fundraising and events calendar with set objectives, budgets and KPIs for each activity.
• Regularly review the performance of fundraising activities/events, making  recommendations for improvement.
• Build and maintain a variety of community relationships across varying stakeholders.
• Explore and coordinate fundraising opportunities such as online donation platforms, auction platforms and text-to- donate services.
• Work with colleagues to ensure that all events are adequately supported with staff, volunteers and post-event debriefs.
• Ensure that all events and activities are compliant with the Code of Fundraising Practice, GDPR and internal policies.

Asset Compliance Officer (Housing)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Compliance Officer to support the delivery of statutory compliance and cyclical safety programmes within a social housing environment.

This is a part-time opportunity (3 days per week) offering hybrid working and a competitive Umbrella rate.

The Role

You will provide high-quality administrative and operational support across building safety and asset compliance programmes. Working closely with contractors, internal teams and residents, you will help ensure statutory inspections, remedial works and certification are delivered on time and recorded accurately.

You will play a key role in maintaining compliance across core safety areas including gas, electrical, fire safety, asbestos, legionella and lifting equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and administer cyclical compliance programmes and statutory inspections
• Schedule and allocate inspections to ensure timely completion
• Review and validate certification to ensure legislative compliance
• Maintain accurate compliance records and audit data integrity
• Raise and manage works orders, ensuring correct coding and contractor allocation
• Monitor remedial works and escalate where necessary
• Liaise with residents and contractors to secure property access
• Support legal access processes where statutory inspections are refused
• Monitor budgets, track spend and support financial reporting
• Produce accurate reports and meeting documentation

About You

You will have:

• Experience in asset management or building safety compliance within social housing

About the role:
