The Volunteer and Events Manager will develop and implement a volunteer strategy and annual RLSS UK plan of events, for all Directorates, which evolves to include opportunities as they arise. To do so successfully, you will be a proactive, dynamic and experienced Volunteer and Events Manager who will lead our centralised management function with passion, excitement and dedication to RLSS UK’s purpose, mission and vision.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead a professional volunteer and events function ensuring supply and demand needs are met across RLSS UK and supporting all teams to embed a consistent and coordinated approach
• To develop, implement and oversee the delivery of the volunteer strategy
• To develop and implement effective strategies, polices and processes to engage and retain volunteers and ensure a high-quality volunteer experience at all stages of the volunteer cycle
• To develop and implement effective event management strategies, policies and processes incorporating all health and safety requirements
• To lead and continuously improve our support to volunteers across the UK and Ireland
• Develop, implement and review an innovative volunteer recognition and reward offer
• To integrate an increasing number of volunteers into RLSS UK’s initiatives and activities, enhancing their experience and maximising their impact regardless of geography and circumstance

• To lead the delivery and implementation of our annual National Presentation of Honours Event, annual conference and national lifesaving sports events

Essential Relevant Experience, Skills and/or Aptitudes

• Approximately 7+ years’ experience in a volunteer management role
• Approximately 5+ years' experience in a events management role
• Experience of working at a manager level ideally in a membership organisation
• Demonstrable experience of strong project management
• Demonstrable experience in the development and implementation of impactful volunteer engagement strategies
• Demonstrable expertise in defining and driving strategies to achieve step changes in engagement
• Experience of forming partnerships with networks and other organisations which bring mutual benefit

Overview of Post

The Finance & Impact Lead is a strategic role responsible for ensuring the overall financial health and sustainability, compliance, and demonstrable impact of the charity. A member of the Senior Leadership Team and reporting to the Chief Executive, the role encompasses leading the financial strategy, overseeing the annual budgeting and forecasting cycles, managing all day-to-day financial operations (including statutory accounts, audit, and cashflow), and maintaining strong financial controls. Main Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Strategy

Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

• Provide costings, financial models and value-for-money analysis for bids and contracts.

• Track expenditure against funder requirements, ensuring accurate, timely reporting.

• Oversee the procurement and management of key contracts such as IT, facilities, suppliers and insurance, to ensure efficiency and value. 

Data Stewardship & Evidence Generation

• Act as the custodian of organisational data, ensuring data integrity, completeness and GDPR-compliant processes.

• Develop and maintain data-collection systems that capture financial, operational, outcomes and impact information.

• Work with the services leads to gather high-quality quantitative and qualitative data that reflects women’s experiences.

Impact Reporting & Insight

• Produce clear, compelling financial, performance and impact reports for senior leadership, trustees, funders and commissioners.

• Translate complex data into meaningful insights that demonstrate organisational impact, effectiveness and growth.

• Support strategic planning and funding bids with evidence-based insight and scenario analysis.

Person Specification 

Qualifications

• Professionally qualified accountant (CCAB body such as CIPFA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent, with evidence of CPD.

• Additional training or experience in impact measurement, ESG, or sustainability reporting desirable.

Experience

• Significant experience in charity finance, including management accounting, budgeting, and SORP-compliant reporting.

• Demonstrable experience of KPI-based reporting and funding compliance.

• Experience in impact measurement and/or ESG reporting in the charity or social enterprise sector desirable

• Experience leading audits, preparing statutory accounts, and managing Gift Aid and VAT for charities.

• Track record of improving financial controls and processes.

• Experience with finance systems (e.g. Quickbooks) and data integration.

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of Charities SORP (FRS 102), fund accounting, and charity sector regulations.

Role Overview 

Ealing and Hounslow CVS is seeking a motivated, community-focused Volunteering andDevelopment Officer to support the delivery of our infrastructure, volunteering, health equity, research, grant-making, and community inclusion programmes. 

EHCVS supports and engages with 1,000+ voluntary and community organisations across Ealing and Hounslow. This role plays an important part in strengthening the resilience, sustainability, and voice of the local VCSE sector. 

The postholder will provide practical programme support, coordinate activities, assist community groups, promote volunteering, contribute to research and insight projects, and support monitoring and reporting requirements. 

This role is ideal for someone with experience in the voluntary sector who is looking to grow their skills in infrastructure support, volunteer development, and community research. 

Key Responsibilities 

Programme Coordination 

• Support the delivery of multiple funded programmes across both boroughs. 

• Assist with organising training sessions, sector forums, Voice Networks and partnership meetings. 

• Track outputs and support managers in meeting funding requirements. 

• Maintain accurate project records and documentation. 

Infrastructure and Group Development 

• Provide basic 1:1 support to voluntary and community organisations on governance, funding readiness and sustainability. 

• Support capacity-building workshops and development sessions. 

• Help develop practical guidance materials and resources for local groups. 

Volunteering Development 

• Support Volunteer Centre activities, including responding to enquiries and assisting with volunteer matching.

The Role

The Volunteer Recruitment Officer will lead structured volunteer growth and engagement across REMAP’s national branch network. The role exists to increase the number of active volunteers and strengthen branch capacity, ensuring the organisation can respond effectively to client referrals and deliver bespoke mobility and independence solutions.

Working proactively with Branch Chairs and the operations team, the postholder will focus on targeted recruitment, improved conversion of volunteer applications, and more consistent onboarding practices across the network. The emphasis is on building resilient local teams, supporting succession planning, and improving the distribution of volunteers to branches with identified capacity gaps.

Routine administrative onboarding processes sit within the wider team. This role is focused on delivering measurable growth in active volunteer capacity and engagement.

Additional information about the role

Place of work: Fully remote, with occasional 1/2 nights away for year-round events.

Salary: 13,400 - £15,000 (actual salary), dependent on experience

Holiday entitlement: Begins at 25 days per annum (pro-rata), in addition to public holidays.

Purpose of the Job 

We are looking for the Volunteer Manager to play a key role in supporting our volunteers at our well-established East Anglia Depot. You will be accountable for recruiting and retaining volunteers, supporting them on a daily basis, and working closely with the Operations team to deliver a highly positive volunteer experience. Data management, analysis and reporting is also an essential part of this role.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the end-to-end volunteer experience at the East Anglia Depot

• Recruit, induct, and support volunteers

• Handle individual volunteers’ queries and issues

• Carry out administrative tasks including using the Volunteer Management System in Microsoft Dynamics. Report on and utilise the data to make positive changes.

• Manage volunteer feedback and implement effective problem-solving techniques and strategies.

• Develop and deliver volunteer recruitment campaigns

• Support volunteer events for recruitment and recognition

• Lead the implementation of volunteer-related policies and continuous improvement initiatives locally

• Support other teams across the organisation to develop skillsets to better support volunteers across the organisation

• Act as a local ambassador for the organisation

This is an exciting time for the Trust as we are in the second year of our ambitious NLHF funded activity plan.  You will be providing support for the volunteer journey from recruitment and onboarding, to role support across all areas of volunteer activity in the park.

Developing new and innovative approaches to volunteering to attract new volunteers, keeping existing volunteers engaged and promoting diversity in the organisation. Managing volunteer rotas, providing volunteer support and ensuring effective delivery of all volunteer activities. Planning and implementing a range of activities and events to acknowledge and thank volunteers for their contribution. Maintaining and updating existing volunteer data base. Ensuring data retained by Sussex Wildlife Trust is relevant and up to date. The Volunteer Coordinator supports the Discovery Centre team and helps with daily operations of the visitor centre whenever possible.
